Lightroom Classic

Help wanted: First of all, best wishes for 2025. Who can help me? I have the latest version of Lightroom Classic and use a NAS system. I recently switched and installed an extra NAS. Now my LR system is out of order. In the library module I see all my folders on the left.   The folders are://Diskstation/photo//DiskStation/photo   Both folders are the same, only in LR Classic they are displayed separately due to the difference in name. Now I have changed the name on the new NAS to Diskstation, but in LR this is not changed. Not even after a new synchronization.   Who has tips & tricks to solve this?   Thanks in advance for your help.   Kind regards, Arnold

First of all, excuse me for maybe not describing my questiona well enough in English. I do my best.I have my recent RAW files on PC. (Say the last 3 years) The old ones I store in the cloud and harddisks to give space on my PC. So I do not use the catalog anymore when it comes to the older years. But still those data remain in the catalog.And that catalog gets bigger and bigger (it seems) till a point where I also have to start a new catalog. But than I loose the data from the current years.Is there a way to remove the old years from the catalog but keep the years that are still on the PC?Thank you.

is it possible to make a selection in lightroom and apply the transform tool?

Has anyone had this issue. I've shot them properly exposed and yet when imported to lightroom they turn almost pitch black.  Any help?? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hello,  this is my first time posting to the community. Thank you in advance for your help and patience. While using LR classic the ai masking tools are not working. I do not receive any error message, the new mask box appears briefly when I click "subject select" for example but then immediately disappears. I have checked my graphics drivers and PC tells me they are both up to date (Intel (R) HD Graphics 630 and Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics)  . I try to export video (only landscape foto) but after 10% completion it stops and does not end the process, without any warning (I tried to wait for two hours).Also 480*270 doesn't work!.  I am using last version of  classic CC 7.1 on IMAC High Sierra 10.13.2

Hi I'm fairly new to lightroom. I was trying to click the sync button in the bottom right next to "sync settings;" however, both of the buttons seem to be grayed out and it won't allow me to click either. I tried to look up how to troubleshoot this issue, but nothing seems to work.

Since a month ago or so the removal tool in LRC has stopped working. I.e. I can select the tool and mark the area that I would like to remove and the tool start working. BUT nothing is removed!? The tool has worked and I have used several times. I work perfectly well in PS. Regards Leif J.

I love editing in HDR in Lightroom. I've done a bunch of experimentation with improved HDR image format support in MacOS Sonoma and iOS/iPadOS 18. I thought I'd share what I've found, as there are some solid improvements! It's definitely going to increase my use of HDR in Lightroom after the limitations of Sonoma/iOS 17. Obviously, this isn't official documentation, but I hope my experience is helpful. Overall, I tend to do any significant editing in Lightroom and then move images back into Apple Photos for "complete" library storage. I've been exporting HDR AVIF out of Lightroom until now. Looks great on my iPhone, but Apple software is pretty tetchy about sharing it. And, does a miserable job displaying it on non-XDR displays. I'm using a MBP 13" M1 (display is capable of 1 stop of HDR), Sequoia 15.0; an iPhone 12 w/XDR display (capable of 3 stops), iOS 18.0; and some on an iPad Pro 11" 2nd Gen (1 stop), iPadOS 18.0. Those with MBPs or the iPad Pros with XDR scree

Hi, My Lightroom has lost all the edit history. I had already the issue a month ago where all the edit history was lost and the pictures were reverted to the original state. I could see in real time how the previews were re-generating and losing all the edits. I managed to find an old catalog and restore from it, meaning I lost only 5 months of edits instead of 20 years. Yes, I started with Lightroom in 2004, and I almost had a heart attack when I thought 20 years of work were lost. Now it has happened again. This time the images retain the edits, I can export and see the edits. But the history is empty again. In the attached heavily edited image you can see that there are several masks but the edit history is empty.    I have also seen that the backup file has gone down in size. Originally was 1,6 GB, then it went down to 640 MB, then to 500MB and now it is 474MB. So, basically, the information is gone! I am going to go back to the catalog with the e

Hello everyone,After installing Xrite color checker & DNG profiler I was unable to locate the plugin so logged out of LR thinking it may need to restart to see said plugins. Once I select Export (it doesn't matter which one) Lightroom takes several minutes to open the Export dialog panel.I'm at my wits end - I've tried: Restarting Lr Restarting computer (yes, turn it off and on again) Restart Lr with default preferences Use new empty Catalog file and import single image for export Removed Lr and installed fresh instance from Adobe site I've tried a few of these in combination with others. I've also done a whole Catalog Export to a new Catalog - in the past this has filtered out corruptions or peculiarities in the old catalog and given a better, faster, version. Not this time though. I like to create web galleries from Lightroom collections.  The process is simple and easy to create the galleries by making the Lightroom collection public.  The problem I have is that I don't know how to sort the galleries once they are on the web.  Changing the order of the Lightroom collection doesn't affect the order of the web gallery at all.  Does anyone know how to sort these web galleries.  Here's an example web gallery at https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/0f4b5032f2834cfdbcabb1e7b31a2c16.  The picture below is a the same photos in the original Lightroom collection.

Is it possible to reset the "People" feature to start over?  With over 80k photos, I've somehow hopelessly messed it up.Any help appreciated. K

Hello,   For several months, I can no longer import my RAF+JPEG (FUJI) files with the RAF displayed alone in the library. The 2 files are separated and displayed. Hallo Forum,ich habe Lightroom 6.10.1 auf meinen Laptop unter Windows 10 installiert.Leider werden mir in den Exif Daten die GPS-Koordinaten, die die Kamera aufzeichnet, nicht angezeigt. Sie sind in der Datei vorhanden denn zl.B. in Irfanview werden sie angezeigt. Ich habe unter Katalogeinstellungen das Häckchen bei Änderungen automatisch in xmp speichern gesetzt.Wenn ich die Bilder auf meinen 2. Laptop ansehe, kann ich die GPS-Koordinaten sehen. Mac Sequoia 15.1LR 14.1.1My LR Keyword Tags are not working.I cannot create new tags.The Tags icon in the lower right corner of each photo does not appear in phots that have keywords.HOWEVER, I can select a Keyword in the right panel and all of the photos with that tag do appear. So that is working properly.When importing new photos I cannot assign a keyword tag during the import process.I have recently moved from an old iMac to a new Mac Mini using Apple’s Migration assistant. Everything seems to be working properly in Lightroom except for the keyword issues I have described.When I turned on LR this morning it told me that it was creating a new catalog that would be compatible with my 14.1.1 LR.  I am on a new Mac so I don't know if the keywords were working prior to the new cataglog creation..Does anyone know of a solution?Thanks for any remedy you can offer.

Hello, everytime I plug in my external hard drive to my laptop, Lightroom Classic starts up and want to import my photos. The curious thing is that I haven't set it up. So my question is: How can I disable the auto-start-up everytime I plug in a hard drive?   Maybe anyone has a solution. 🙂   {Thread title edited by moderator}

Hello, I'm trying to export IIQ S RAW files shot with a Phase One 180 db and getting a "There was an unknown error." when I try and export (to JPEG, DNG, whatever) . Files are imported and processed fine.  IIQ L files have always exported fine and still do (as have IIQ S in the past).  what's going on? Do I need to use Capture One to use IIQ S files??  i'm on a MBP M2 Max with Sonoma 14.4.1 LR Classic 14.1.1 

I find that with my older PC that it takes a long time to add a set of photos to a folder and catalog them, and convert to DNG during import. I suspect that using the Adobe DNG converter program against the files on the card and just creating the DNG files in a new folder will be considerably faster, then just do an Import Add. But.. are there significant differences between these two conversion methods? I don't do any presets during importing. Most concerned about quality loss of the images. Thanks.

I am up to date with the latest update for Windows 11 (24H2). I have an I7 13th gen, gtx 1060 6gb, 32gb of ram, etc. I meet all of the system requirements to download lightroom classic (and every other adobe product), but for some reason, the download button is blocked out and it says that I can't download it (or any product) because my current OS isn't supported.   [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]

When you press T in full screen mode, an overlay pop up at the bottom says "Press T to show the toolbar again".  And it literally nothing happens.  It doesn't do anything.

I am trying to change the color of a wall from a pinkish cream to brown, but I can't seem to get the sliders in the color panel to make it happen!  As close as I can get is orange. Do I have to do it in 2 or 3 masks (think mixing paint)?  Please advise! Attached is the original color of the wall that I want to turn to brown.
