I'm new to lightroom.1. I'm on a Mac and cannot figure out how to import of export from the Mac Photo app. I'm lost. 2. I have managed to import some photos, but it is random, not in order, incomplete, and I have duplicates. I just want to just dump all the photos I managed to import and start again and import them form the Mac photo app. How do I do this?3. I've been paying for LR for months and cannot figure out this simple task. I feel like an idiot.
I use Photo Mechanic to ingest, select and manage metadata before editing in LR. During games, I don't have enough time to tag photos. I file low-res photos during the game that are suitable for social media, not high-res for other uses. Once the game is over, I update the metadata, usually player names, in Photo Mechanic because it's faster and easier. The problem is that I can't get these updates syched up in LR. I get a message in LR that the meta data has been updated and only have two choices: overwrite the data with what's already in LR which means losing the "persons present"; or import from Photomechanic which undos all the editing I've done. Is there some setting I'm missing between the two programs to make this work? Thanks
I want to place the file name superimposed over an image.Does anyone have a simple workflow to accomplish this?
Greetings! I have a seemingly simple issue but don't know how to resolve it. I've been using Lightroom for years for my photography work. Some of my work is "fine art" but most of it is stock photography. As such, I need to fill in the keywords, Contact & IPTC, etc data. And, as you might expect, I've fat fingered some of the data that I've input. I know how to remove bad keywords from my keyword list, but I don't know how to remove bad data from the Contact & IPTC areas. For example, I've attached an image. Over time, I fat fingered "photographer" as "pjotographer" and accepted that spelling and now I'm stuck with it as an alternative when I start typing "photographer" into that field. I'd like to remove "pjotographer" from the pop up so that only "photographer" appears. On several of these fields, I've made one or more errors that are annoying to deal with as I'm inputing this information, so I'd like to clean this stuff up/out. Does anyone know how to remove t
I'm about to leave for an hour. While I'm gone, suggestions for capturing the issue would be welcome. When I get back, I'll close and open it and it will probably go away. If not, reboot.
I recently updated to Mac Os 15.1.1 (24B91). Now my lightroom classic quits upon start up. It doesn't even open the app. it just shows the startup screen then immediately shuts down. I tried uninstalling it and reinstallingn it via the creative coud app, but it still doesn't work. Any help please?
My Lightroom is set to back up the catalog once a week. Yesterday, when closing the program, I encountered this error stating that there isn’t enough disk space to complete the backup. Note: The backup is saved to a folder on the C drive, which has over 350GB of free space. The last backup was successfully completed on November 19. Today, when closing the program, the same error appeared again, stating there isn’t enough space. I tried changing the backup location to other drives, but the same error persists. Can anyone help me? [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
Recently, Lightroom has become unusable for me due to GPU-related issues. Images in the Develop module appear dark and green. Even the image background, which should be gray, is green. The photo shows drill bits photographed against a white background. The only solution I've found is to set Graphics Processing to OFF. However, this makes switching images in the Develop module unbearably slow. I've gone through Adobe's Troubleshoot graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues article, but it hasn’t helped. I also just picked up my MacBook from Apple service, where diagnostics showed no issues.Has anyone experienced a similar problem, and how did you resolve it? Specs: MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019, I9, 32GB, Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, Sequoia 15.1.1
I have imported photos into lightroom, editted them and because I have moved the imported photos from their original location I can no longer continue editting them since lightroom can't find them. Is there a way for lightroom to find the new location of the photos or to set this up manually? I would like to adjust the editting without starting again from scratch by re-importing.
I recently installed 14.0.1 and now previews of images are not showing. I am getting this message:"Lightroom encountered and error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" I found a thread addressing the issue from 2013 but it is locked so posting here as the recommended actions are not working. Most of the deeper thread comments point to external drive problems as the issue, but this is not my case. The method for resolving the issue recommends deleting the Preview Cache directory which ends with Previews.LRDATA but I'm not finding that. The closest thing I could find is a large (14gb) Previews.LRDATA file located in the Previous Catalogues folder, not an entire directory. I tried copying this Previews.LRDATA file to an external drive, deleting the original and restarting LR but no luck.Any assistance very welcome.MBP M1, Sonoma 14.5 [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.] &nbs
Hi, I have used Lightroom 5 in many years, and now upgraded to Lightroom Classic on my Mackbook Pro (Sequoia). I have a new MacBook Pro and imported my about 90 000 pictures there. Unfortunaly the tagged keywords are not there with the pictures. This keyword jobb is many hours work during the years. Is there a method to import the keyword so that they are connected to respective picture? I have read a lot about metadata, but 'i can't figure out a way to do it. It's an understatement to say that I would be very very happy if there is some way to do it! BR Göran/Sweden
So I printed all day yesterday, on my Epson 7570 printer, using the LRC Print Module, printing on Exhibition Canvas Matte, with the installed ICC profiles. Today, I go down to continue with my Print project and my ICC profiles have suddenly disaapeared form LRC. And I don't have the option to select the proper profile in LRC profiles list. I can only see my older profiles, for my older printers. But all of the new ones for the 7570 have gone missing.Any thoughts as to what might have happened here? And a solution/suggestion?Thanks.- Sol
Hi all, recently my old Macbook Pro from 2012 died, so I bought a new one. I had Lightroom 5 that is working badly now with Sequoia, so I downloaded Lightroom Classic. Actually everything went very smooth, the old catalog got quickly updated and all the work I did in the past seems to be there. I was running some check on the catalog to be sure everything was really fine, one of them being "Finding all missing photos" from the Library menu: Lightroom found none. I then tried to synchronize the root folder of the catalog and here someting weird happened. The tab "Remove missing photos from catalog" found many picture "missing" (about 4%), but checking them through "Show missing photos" I noticed they are not missing at all. The pictures have no check that they are missing, and if I press cmd R on one of them they appear to be in the right folder within the rooth folder. I saw in the forum that this problem is not entirely new, but I couldn't find a solution. Perhaps it is connected to t
When you update your (older) pictures to a new process version, I noticed, that stacked photos will not be updated automatically. You first have to unstack the pics.

In LRc, it is possible to change the file name modifier of externally edited photos from 'Edit' to whatever you want. Is there a way to change the modifier for merged photos (Pano / HDR) or Enhanced photos?
About 3 weeks ago, LRC 14.0.1 simply failed to launch. Before this it was working fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times and tried rolling back to previous versions (13.5.1 & 14.0), but no luck. I don't get any error message and can see the app running in task manager, but nothing happens. Any suggestions how to trouble shoot this? Could it be to do with a windows update? I'm running W11 Pro 10.0.22631 Build 22631 on an i7 Dell XPS with 16GB RAM Thanks, Chris
Hello,Only recently I started using lightroom classic and thus I am pretty inexperienced and I am sure this is merely a matter of me not having a clue how this happened or what I do next. However I would really appreciate the help.I was going through my last set of photos making selections while all of a sudden the classic way lightroom has always looked split into two windows - like you can see in the screenshots. The full view of the image was before I force closed lightroom completely fullview and I was not able to minimize it or interract with it. Upon opening lightroom again this is how it looks.Normally the fullscreen view of the image can just be closed with Esc and then you'd return to the normal library view. Right now I have no clue how to get back to seeing my collections or library as a whole. If anyone could help a newbie I would be forever grateful

I'm stunned how much of a delay there is when starting to paint over an area using the Remove tool. The behavior is often random. Sometimes it takes several seconds before it even accepts any mouse/pen input drawing over an area, sometimes it is alost instant. I tried to see if I can see a pattern. Definitely if I move to the next photo and start removing objects, it's slow. Sometimes it gets faster after the first delay, but sometimes the delays happen again on the same photo I've been working on for a while. The remove tool always had performance issues in Lightroom since I can remember. I understand it needs to decode the raw data first to be able to determine the area I'm trying to remove, but also a greater area to find a good source to clone from. But here is the thing, when I start drawing over an area I want to remove/clean up, the software doesn't need to do anything but draw an overlay showing the brush stroke. It doesn't need to process anything. Let me just draw the area out
