I edit professionally using smart previews in Lightroom Classic for a number of clients that use a variety of different color profiles. I do not personally own every profile that my clients request that I use, but that hasn't been an issue in the past since I have always been able to copy the "Treatment and Profile" settings from their edited sample images, and paste the profile onto the unedited images. Even though it would have a warning saying "Profile Missing," I found that this trick still worked for both me and my clients. However, after updating my Lightroom today, it is no longer copying these missing profiles over to any other new images. Even if I paste all settings from the previous photo, all edits and adjustments will copy over to the new image, but the profile will stay the default Adobe Color. Any tips on how to possibly fix or work around this issue? I have gone in and redownloaded version 14.5.1 of Lightroom Classic and reconfrimed that I can copy/paste missing profiles
Hi all, as the title says it's taking an extremely long time for Lr Classic to sync to the cloud and I'm wondering if this is normal. I cleared all synced photos recently as I was running out of cloud storage and had ~8000 images (mostly smart preview only) on there that I didn't need. After clearing it, I then selected 385 images that I wanted to add back to the cloud. I synced them via Lr Classic a first time, which didn't take long at all. This was just syncing the smart previews as it does when syncing to the cloud via Lr Classic. I then tried to add the full quality images to the cloud by importing via the regular Lr program but unfortunately that took me over my storage limit, so I first cleared the deleted items on Lr to see if that woud help (it didn't). I then went back to Lr Classic, removed all the 385 images from All Synced Photographs, and started again to sync them as smart previews only. I added the 385 images back to All Synced Photographs as before, howe
I am confused. I have recently started using Lightroom as well as Lightroom Classic – which I have been using for ten years. I have all my photos on a 2TB SanDisk. There are a total of 46,618 photos taking up 742GB of space. When I use LR I can see all the photos. When I use LRC (latest version 15.0) I see just 38,508 photos. As an example I have three screen shots. The first shot shows the information on my SanDisk for the folder titled Angela poster2. The second screen shot shows LR and all the photos. The third screen shot show LRC and has just two shots. Why are there six shots missing in LRC? I have tried to import and I have synced – all to no avail. Can someone please help. I much prefer LRC and I do not understand what I am doing wrong.
Hello there!Recently I purchased an m4 macbook pro and generally im very pleased with the performance vs my windows machine but this thing is getting to really ruin the experience. When i switch between photos in the develop module it happens usually almsot instantly but sometimes it gets stuck and then it takes 3-4 seconds to do it. It shows in the thumbnails i switched but can only see the previous photo and no settings loaded. I have 30gb cache set up and these are 20MB jpegs so i feel soemthing is going wrong here. mac os 15.7.1
I have ~300 photos from an event that I need to export. I ran them through denoise. When I go to export them all, I get a message that some of them need AI update. OK, but it hangs up every damn time. So I try to select all - Photo -> Update AI Settings, but that option is grayed out, evidently because one or more files don't need AI Update...So right now I'm having to go through each file, one by one and updating AI. What was supposed to save time has now become a huge time suck. I'm working under a deadline and this is killing me.
In the Book module, when using image files stored on external drives that are connected after launching Lightroom, some of these files are incorrectly recognized as offline and the book export is failed. However, they are fully accessible and visible in the Library and Develop modules. To make the Book module recognize them correctly, I have to restart Lightroom with external drive connected. It would be great if this issue could be fixed.
I have imported a lot of scanned images into my library, mainly from 35mm negatives but also some 35mm slides and 110 negatives. I would like to create a smart collection for each type but haven't been able to figure out how. I have used the "Source Type" field in the "IPTC Extension Administrative" metadata section to identify each type, e.g. "Digitised from a negative on film" and so on. However, I can't find a specific entry for "Source Type" anywhere in the Smart Collection settings but I've tried "Any searchable text", "Any searchable Metadata", "Searchable IPTC" but none of them seem to work. That suggests that the "Source Type" field is not searchable for some reason. Anybody got any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
The Import window is truncated on the right in six languages in Window > Screen Mode > Normal but, at least for some languages, not in the other screen modes. (I didn't test all combinations.) Truncation occurs in German (DE), French (FR), Norwegian (NB), Dutch (NL), Polish (PL), and Russian (RU). See the attached screenshots, including one for English (EN) for comparison. I tested these configurations of LR 15.0.1: - Windows 11 (ARM): Preferences > Interface > Font Size: 200%, main window size 2670 x 1561, Windows Display Scaling 250%. - Windows 11 (Intel): Preferences > Interface > Font Size: 250%, main window size 3093 x 2519, Windows Display Scaling 250%. I casually observed similar symptoms for NL and DE on Mac OS 15.7.1 but didn't thoroughly test Mac.
Since I have updated to LRc 14.4, 14.5 as well as 15.0.1 my CPU (Intel i7 8900, 32 GB RAM, Win11) is running at 50 up to 100% load as soon as I switch from library to development mode, but only if I have activated AI-denoise function. Even when denoise is finished, the CPU is still running at about 50% constantly while the GPU is at 2-3% (Nvidia GTX 1070, 8 GB VRAM). Adobe recommends to apply AI-denoise at first step before all other development work. But when I follow this, my workflow from photo to photo is slowing down dramatically, impossible to work quickly. The only work-around I found is applying AI denoise as final step of my workflow. What could be the reason for this? Could you please help me to solve this problem?
How to provide Full Disk Access on macOS Since macOS 10.14 (Mojave), Apple introduced a new privacy structure to help ensure that all applications obtain user consent before accessing documents, downloads, desktop, iCloud Drive, and network volumes. This has been reinforced in newer versions of macOS. This change prevents unauthorized access to user files and folders. When Full Disk access & Accessibility permissions are needed, users may be asked to or be required to change the setting in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Full Disk Access for Lightroom Classic manually. While for the File & Folders access, the user is prompted to allow or deny when needed. Why provide full disk access to Lightroom Classic? Insufficient or broken permissions may restrict Lightroom Classic from functioning correctly and break your workflows. All tasks that require access to the computer's storage — importing/exporting images, cross-app workflows, reading/writing metadata,

Hello Team! I'm having an issue. When I do the first edit in Photomechanical 6, the label color doesn't transfer to Lightroom. Not sure what I should now. Any idea? Btw, Lightroom has just been updated to the latest version. Thanks in advance for any help! CAm
I'm on a mac using Tahoe.I've given permissions for Lightroom Classic to have full disk access. I've added it to Accessibility, App Management. Under Files & Folders it says it has full disk access, but I'm still getting the error message. Any ideas?
AI Denoise does not work on my fairly new ASUS Zenbook Pro 17. The best results are images that are interfered by small colored squares randomly placed in the dng. (I enclose an example image.) But most of the time AI denoising stops processing, giving out an "unknown error", followed by the "GPU Error" ("The graphics processor has encountered an unrecoverable error. ...") I tried to deactivate GPU support by default, but then AI denoise does not work at all. When I activate GPU support by default, it crashes all time. When I set it to Auto, it crashes most time, but sometimes it works - but with the small color patterns in the dng-results.I also changed the settings of the AMD radeon to "Gaming performance" (= full power) after updating the driver. Any ideas what else could solve the problem?Or is the up-to-date AMD Radeon Graphics just to weak for the new denoise feature? That would be upsetting, because the Laptop is only 4 months old and i bought it especially for picture e
Hi all,I'm using a four-year-old laptop with an 11th-generation Intel CPU for LRC. The AI-driven features, especially noise cancellation, are incredibly slow. I've decided to buy a new, future-proof laptop, but what CPU/GPU should I get? LRC used to not use a GPU in the past, but now it does for AI-powered features. But some of the latest processors, like the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, support AI without graphics acceleration.I'm curious what are your experiences which is the best solution? Does anyone uses Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with LRC? Could it be enough for AI supported functions? Or go for a good CPU/GPU like the Asus ProArt 16 which has AMD AI 9 HX 370 + RTX5080? Or should I switch to MacBook Pro which is also could be case. Regards,Jani
After last update, Lr work as sh... First of all switching beteween photos takes ages. It's completly unworkable in meaning of professional edit. When changes as lens blur its visible only when comare to other picture. I'm using this program professionally almost 10 years and never worked as bad as this time. Is any chance to step back before this update? My iOS is Sequoia 15.6.1 working on mac Studio 2024
Upgraded to Windows 11 which knocked out LRC. The program is running now but folders with previews I delivered are gone. All pictures are on an external hard drive and fine but I really don't want to start them all over that I did previews. How do I locate?
Hi, I have a performance issue. My workflow is that I add new images to LR via my iPad LR. It uploads the images to the creative cloud just fine. When back to my desktop, I open my (Win 11) LR classic, and it starts downloading images from creative cloud to my main catalog. The issue is, this downloading now appears "throttled" to only 5 images every 30 seconds. For 1000 images that's about 1h 40 minutes. It used to be faster, mainly limited by actual network bandwith capacity. Thoughts on my current setup:my network connection is a 1 Gb connection, and every other program I use gets to benefit from its full speed, no problem. And even LR downloads those 5 images like in one second as a burst. Then it just waits, no network traffic (from LR anyway) until the 30 secs fill up and it downloads the next batch. I have observed this visually with windows task manager showing network traffic. My disks are SSD, many Gbs per second,
I Use Flickr for sharing and posting my photos, directly from lightroom. When I go to publish photos, I occasionally get photos which have been 'updated/modified' but I haven't toched them. Why is this?
In using LRC.. and looking at metadata, is there a selection to display how a photo was captured.. IE I use Canon R62 and wondered if a photo was taken as Mechanical or 1st Curtain or Electronic? Do folks think that would be a needed option? looking thru my photos I took this weekend at a airshow. I thought it would be a good option to see what the selection was chosen? Would this take a update to camera firmware so software could pickup the metadata?
