One idea that i have about making photoshop better experience and probably also fixing a "bug" (maybe) is to be able to use the Cancel button on "Copy CSS" feautre. This button is right below "duplicate layer" when right clikcing and i often missclick on it. When this happen on a group of 30 layers i have to wait a lot before photoshop compiles and give me the css. There is a button "cancel" that seems to be just for balance and no real functionality. Please make this button actually do something so i can cancel this operation. Thanks!
To recreate: open up a design or create a new one. Press T or click on your text tool. Create a Text field... type what ever you want using a font with multiple font faces. Press Cntl Enter to commit your text. Press V or select your move tool ... press arrow keys to move around your new text layer. Now, assuming you used a font with multiple faces. Click on the arrow of the dropdown to select a different font face. and click on a new one .... no click anywhere on your design with your still active move tool. You should / used to be able to now press your arrow keys to move around your text again but if you notice the font face picker is not deactivated and press arrows will just change your font face however the behavior in all previous version was that clicking on your design will deselect the face field, as you can see by trying the same experiment with font size drop down.
If effects are added with Blending Options... on a folder, the "New style..." does nothing when trying to save the style. Similarly - when selecting a folder and clicking a Style in the Styles tab, the effects are applied to the layers in the folder - not to the selected folder!
I usually make several duplicates of my files to test on-the-go design options, and I've encountered a problem with Photoshop CC 2014: If I open a document, all the text is editable. But if I duplicate it (Image > duplicate), , and then close the original file, the text tools stops, and I receive this error while typing on a text layer or trying set a point or paragraph text: "Could not complete your request because of a program error". - Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.0.0 20140508.r.58 2014/05/08:23:59:59 x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.8.5
16 bit calculated masks - issue of random squares on mask that destroy effectiveness. Am using CS5 v12.0.4 64bit ona Win 7 64bit Ultimate PC with 12Gb RAM. I do not believe the problem is only one of display. I started with a 16bit RGB image and my detailed workflow was - I only had a background layer - Image | Calcuations | Source 1 channel = Gray | Source 2 channel = Gray | Blending | Screen (Overlay also shows issue but this image was too dark for good demo) | Result = selection I then Image | Calcuations | Source 1 channel = Selection | Source 2 channel = Selection | Blending | Screen | Result = selection or new doc or new channel If you choose new channel, you see an alpha channel witht hese random squares where the mask is not applied correctly. However, if you "result" the first calculation as a "New Channel" and then recalculate you do not see the issue.
I can't use any of my F-key shortcuts I've set up when I'm in adjustment curves layer in CS5 x64 on Windows 7. I have a lot of brush shortcuts assigned to these keys I need to access and they no longer work. When I press an F-key, I get the eye dropper tool instead.
Photoshop CS5 for Mac displays unexpected behaviors when the Mixer Brush Tool is selected. For some reason Photoshop tries to merge layers while an image is being opened, or when a layer visibility is turned on or off. Sometimes Photoshop will also crash.
When photoshop is open and the panels have been closed by using the tab key, mousing over the left side of the application frame will not completely open the tools tab. The panels tab will completely open.
Can't seem to make a soft return in PS CS2 / CS3 / CS4 / CS5 / CS5.5 (Windows-PC) (no problems on a Mac) Image is not available
On Mac OS 10.6, if I mouse over a window that is focused or not focused, I can scroll that window using my scroll wheel. This doesn't work in PS. I have to focus the window to scroll it. I want it to work the way the system does it.
Hi There- In our shop file names tend to get really, really long, and we often need to save files out in multiple formats and color spaces, without paths or channels. I've noticed that when you uncheck the Alpha Channels check box, and the save as copy checkbox becomes active the filename gets cut off depending on how long it is to include the "-copy" at the end. I see the logic behind this–not wanting to save over an original–but I find it most useless. I've worked around the problem by including a couple scripts that will remove the paths and alpha channels from the files in my actions before saving them, preventing the need to save as a copy in the save dialogue. However, this is still a nuisance. I'd like to see a delete alpha channels command in the channels palette, as well as a delete paths command in the paths palette.
I have attached a close-up image of the problem. As you can see there are a few layers of type, and some graphics behind it. The font I used is very common (Cooper Black) and the blue letter "r" in the middle of the screen is missing a row of pixels. Notice that the "r" behind it is the same font, but perfectly fine. Obviously type in Photoshop shouldn't be doing this. I have noticed it with a number of fonts in Photoshop, but I've even seen it happen when I place smart objects from Illustrator. If I move the problem layer, sometimes it goes away, but more often it doesn't. Sometimes other portions of the layer will lose a row of pixels instead. Now this problem may seem minor, since it is only one row pixels, but if you apply a layer style, such as a bevel, it acts as if those pixels are supposed to be that way. Therefore you have a bevel wrapping around that one row of missing pixels. I have tried creating PDFs out of these files, and the problem still exists after the export. This m
When re-cropping a Smart Layer, saving and then seeing the updated smart layer on the master document, some pixel - column repeating occurs. Image is not available I've been aware of this issue for years, but I never knew where to speak up about it until now.
Canvas view rotation doesn't work properly with natural media brushes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rZu_Z... Scrubby zoom doesn't work well with view rotation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqlmtC... I zoom towards the orange spot with both a standard and rotated canvas. The view should zoom in and out of the area the drag starts at.

Please tell me a fix is on the way. I have been suffering with this bug since PS-CS5 was released. The problem is that when working with smart objects and transforming them, eventually the coordinates of the transform tool's bounding box becomes reset to the top left corner of the image. The smart object could live anywhere else on the image. It is extremely frustrating because once this happens, the only way to 'fix' it is to rasterize the smart object. After the rasterize, the transform box is appropriately located around the layer's contents vs the top left corner of the image. There are any benefits to working with smart objects but once this happens, all those benefits are completely void. CS5 has been out for a LONG time now... and there has yet to be a fix.
Received an error popup - "Could not complete your request because of a program error." Scenario - Editing contents of a Smart Object. Duplicated text layer. Tried to edit text layer with Type Tool and error appeared. I closed the Smart Object and reopened it and everything worked fine again.
Properties Window: There is no easy way to select (and overwrite) the numeric values quickly. The selection behavior is inconsistent with Character/Paragraph window. Update: Clicking on the border of the input boxes sometimes selects the entire text, and sometimes places the cursor at the end of the line.
Photoshop CC 2014: I cannot personalize the keyboard shortcuts, because one tab in the option window, hides all menu voices, it is too grippy and it seems I cannot enlarge it manually. Please check this screenshot: http://monicafranceschi.com/adobe/ado...
Photoshop CC 14.2.1 layer effects are not getting copyied to CSS. So, when right-clicking the layer and copying CSS, the layer effects such as the stroke and shadows are not getting copied. Is this a bug, or do I need to do something? I'm on a Mac running Mavericks 10.9.2. Thank you.
If you use edit > Fill and select a scripted pattern (i.e. Tree) the tree dialogue will appear. You can make a tree or cancel, whatever. Then choose the fill bucket (Or wait until you forget you did the scripted pattens thing) and change from filling with a colour to filling with a pattern in the top toolbar. Choose your favourite pattern and click to fill. Hello again tree dialogue! (Now if you forget the scripted patterns step you can spend time trying to work out why the tre thing is popping up and where to disable it). It would make more sense to have 'scripted pattern' as a drop-down in the foreground/pattern box on the bucket toolbar, or even just ignore it as a option for the paint-bucket then have the option tucked away as it is yet still effecting things. Edit: This is Photoshop 14.2.1 on Mac 10.9.2
Hi The translation for "Trim" is wrong in the Swedish version of Photoshop. This problem showed up in CS3 and is still there in CC. The documentation use the translation "Rensa" The History panel also use the term "Rensa" But the image command the user see is "Trimma" So it's very confusing to use the History panel when the word I'm looking for isn't there. Unfortunately the word "trimma" also adds a layer of humor to the image menu. We are accustomed to trimma our mopeds, dogs and hedges here but not our images.
I'm having issues duplicating a group of smart objects to a different document; when I do the links break and I am no longer able to edit one and have the changes made to all instances of the smart object. I only seem to have this problem in the latest version of Photoshop CC. On my laptop at home, I have CC but an older version, and it works on that, and a friend tried it on CS4 and it worked for him, and it also works fine in CS6 when I tried it on there. To reproduce: 1. Create a new document (Doc A) in version 14.2.1 of Photoshop CC. 2. Make a rectangle object and convert to a smart object. 3. Duplicate this smart object a couple times and make sure you can see them all. Now you should be able to double click to edit and make a change to one of these objects and have it change across all instances (change the color or something). 4. Create a new document (Doc B). 5. Duplicate the smart objects from "Doc A" to "Doc B". 6. Editing the smart object in the same way no longer makes the
Translation Issue - Portuguese BR The white balance/color temp mode "Daylight" is poorly translated to "Horário de verão" which translates to 'daylight savings' not 'daylight'. The correct term (as used in prior versions of PS) is "Luz do dia".
When trying to save a processed image to file from Photoshop CC, I receive the following message: Could not save C\users\home\.....\005.jpg because of program error. How does this situation get resolved? I have no plug-ins. Am using Windows 7 Ultimate, i3 Intel processor, 16G G Skill RAM, more than adequate for the program.
