The Image Adjustments > brightness/contrast setting in the latest version of Photoshop for Mac is washing images out when I increase contrast. Increasing contrast previously darkened images. (This is happening in adjustment layers as well.) I use this tool frequently, and the new settings don’t allow for the same darkness/richness without the entire image darkening. It’s difficult to get the same effect easily with curves. This seems like an error in the update. Could you please provide any assistance?
Hi everyone, I am a newbie on Photoshop and I need some help on how to achieve this early 2000s edit, reminiscent of 'fruitger aero'. I'm assuming the background is done on Illustrator? But I truly don't know where to start TT
When using photoshop after a bit it will get slow and the mose position will desync by up to half of my screen and when scrolling the image will bleed off the screen.

Hey, So I recently bought an M1 iMac to work from home on a bigger screen and so I wouldn't overwork my 2019 Macbook Pro for heavier jobs. What I found out while using Photoshop with my M1 iMac is that, at times, the optn key acted like it was being pressed down although it physically wasn't. There is, apparently, nothing I can do to solve this when it happens except restart my computer which ends up being a pain in the a** on my workflow. I've searched this "bug" before and only found one person with an apparent solution which was to turn the sticky keys on and off (or along those lines). I also enabled the keyboard viewer and in fact when this bug takes place I can see that the optn key is "active" but even if I turn it off on the keyboard viewer, it still acts as if it's pressed down. None of these methods seems to work for me. And so here I go, restarting my computer again. This only seems to happen on Photoshop and on my iMac. It never happened/happens on my Ma
Hi everyone, I’m working with Photoshop version 26.8.1 on a MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip, running macOS Sequoia 15.5, and I’m experiencing the following issue: Whenever I click on “Enhance Details” after using Generative Fill, Photoshop crashes consistently. This happens regardless of the image or project. I’ve already tried everything available under Preferences > Performance, including assigning the GPU, enabling/disabling all relevant performance settings. I’ve also cleared several cache-related folders, including: – Camera Raw Cache– PluginData from com.adobe.cai.uxp– LocalStorage and temporary .ldb files– Photoshop-specific assets and settings files under ~/Library/Caches/Adobe Here’s an important detail: after restarting the Mac, the feature works again, but only for about 10–20 “Enhance Details” actions before Photoshop crashes again. After that, the only way to make it work again is to restart the machine — then I get another window of 10–20 succ
I noticed in Photoshop, that the background doesn't actually look white (fffffff).. even though the color picker shows it is white and in the upper left corner. Contrast to Illustrator, and Powerpoint... The image below was taken by arranging all three applications on my machine... the hex color code is shown in the text is the value reported from the screen grab in SnagIt. Please help me understand how to make white = white.
Hey guys, anyone with any ideas on how to create an effect like an out-of-body experience like in the image I've attached? Specifically, how to blur and lengthen parts of a specific image (like the hair and white clothing on the lady) and how to create such a glow around a person?Any help will be greatly appreciated! I'm still learning.
I need to be able to print color targets for making custom ICC profiles, so I need to be able to print without color management. Photoshop doesn't allow this. I've had to use the old Adobe Color Printer Utility, which hasn't received an update in a decade or so. With each Mac OS system update, it becomes less and less usable. It now takes several attempts to open/print files. Color Sync is *supposed* to be able to do this, but the option to print without color management is always greyed out, no matter the file type. Since making custom profiles is a pretty vital thing to be able to do for people using Adobe products to do professional printing, I figure Adobe has some other solution besides an old, deprecated piece of stoftware... right?
I like to stack images in tabs within a window so I can easily switch between the two to see the differences. I also like to have a white border when doing so. This always worked great in previous versions of PS, but somewhere along the way the behavior of windows changed. If you watch the screen recording, if I expand the window so there is a white space, all images in different tabs in the window have different amounts of white space which makes lining them up difficult. In the past, if I expanded a window with multiple images in tabs, each tab would have identical white space, making them line up perfectly. Please fix this bug. Using latest version of PS 2025 on MacOS 15.4.1. Jeff
I am trying to continue work on something I was working on yesterday and when attempting to open the .PSD file, I am greeted by the error: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"I have had a look for any others whove experienced the same bug with little luck.Anything helps, Thanks.
Hope to get some guidance on JPEG XL Save As options. I want to save a large image (15000x15600) as a jpeg for printing. (I was surprised to find that some professional labs, like Bay Photo, include jpegs in their list of preferred file types.) Two questions: (1) I want maximum quality. In the Photoshop Save As dialogue box, under Color Compression, I can choose Lossless or Lossy. If I choose Lossy, I can set the Quality slider to 100 (Maximum, large file). My sense is that Lossless is the better choice to maximize quality. With Lossless, I have no Quality settings. Does that indicate that Lossless automatically maximizes quality? (2) If my purpose is not to re edit the file but rather to send the file to a lab for printing, my sense is that I do not need to include metadata. Is that correct?
Dear Adobe team, you must see there is a growing demand for big file use in Photoshop. It is nice, that we have the possibility to save as PSB, but most other tools which i have to work with do not support PSB nor PSD. While Photoshop can read, open and edit BigTiff files, it is unable to save them. We are almost at the and of 2020, please make this a possibility. There are tools out there, that can do math operations Photoshop can not. Aswell as there is Photoshop, that can do things the other tools are unable to. Please connect this by allowing to save with the BigTiff file format. It would certainly expand the possibilities of what we can do with your software. http://bigtiff.org/
I have recently had this issue with the latest versions of PS. Having read of historic similar issues I reset my Preferences and the issue disappeared. However, when I reset my personal preferences the problem returned. Following some trial and error adjustments, I have established that the Preference that I had changed from the defaults which caused my problem was the "Preferences/Workspace/Open Documents as Tabs" one. I have always unticked this box but it appears to be what is causing the failure of the Brightness/Contrast sliders. Not the end of the world to leave it ticked but clearly not what should be happening.I have been a PS user since 1998 and never had anything like this before. However I have recently updated my PC to get Windows 11 compatibility, buying a Dell XPS 8960. Whether this could also be a factor I don't know.
Hi everyone,I’m dealing with a major issue in Photoshop 2020. During basic tasks like editing two or three photos, my entire system freezes — even the shut down and task manager stop responding. I have to force shutdown the system every time to get it back to normal. My System Specs:• Photoshop Version: 2020• GPU: RTX 4060 8GB• RAM: 32GB (16×2)• Processor: Intel Core i7• Storage: SSD (Photoshop is installed on SSD)• Scratch Disk: Assigned to 😧 drive (with 250 gb free space available )
I just opened up my PSD file to make minor edits and when I wanted to apply the gradient, it shows an error as the title topic suggest. No idea what caused the bug as it popped out suddenly. Appreciate if there are any workarounds. Cheers.
The keyboard shortcut to show/hide the grid has stopped working. I checked in the settings and it's still set to default (Commnd + '), but when I try to use the shortcut nothing happens. I have reset the preferences, restarted Photoshop without plugins and still not working! The same issue exists in After Effects, which uses the same keystrokes for that shortcut. Other Command shortcuts work fine and the ' key works. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Hi all, I've scoured the internet for a solution to my problem with Contact Sheet II to no avail.Everytime I try to generate a Contact Sheet in Photoshop it comes out blank. Nothing shows up, no layers or text is created. I tried adjusting everything in the settings I could; changing the color profile to every different one, I tried CMYK. Checked and unchecked almost every setting I could. Nothing has changed. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop. I'm on a Windows 10 computer with everything needed for Photoshop to run updated: version 22.4.3 Photoshop. Any help is appreciated. I use the Contact Sheet generator for work and would love to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks!
Anyone else experiencing very very slow times to save PNG with the latest Photoshop version?I can save PNG using Apple Mac with the simple Preview app in a fraction of the time Adobe Lightroom takes. Is it just a bug in my version, or does everyone else experience this as well?
Hi there! I am a concept artist and game texture painter, and both me and my employer studio choose Photoshop for our content creation and have done so for years. Photoshop Filters are powerful and useful for many Photoshop users, but many of them are now looking dated, lacking in relevance and in flexibility. Substance Designer is showing Adobe users just how flexible and powerful procedural filters can be. Substance Designer can replicate the Filters that Photoshop offers, and go beyond that with a wide array of more sophisticated nodes and graphs. So I propose an overhaul of the existing Photoshop Filters, taking learnings from Substance Designer, hopefully integrating Substance technology and user interface to increase user cross-compatibility. Proposal below (Apologies for all the details):1. Use Designer's nodes to re-build the legacy set of Photoshop Filters, and provide them within Photoshop's UI. But expose more user control.2. Add some new, refreshing, use
I've had Adobe CC for years, and now I can't use it anymore. I'm asked: start the free trial or buy this product. What should I do?
When I convert a Raw image file to JPEG, PS 2025 is showing it as 16 bit. After converting using an Action or manually, when I open the image later in PS, the tab shows 16 bit, the Mode shows 16 bit even though a JPEG. In addition, when I did the conversion, I changed the image size settings to 1000 px longest side and 72 ppi resolution. Besides the 16 bit indication, when I open Image Size to check the settings, the resolution is 300 instead of 72 (however the longest side is 1000 px). I'm certain PS recognizes it as JPEG, but displays 16 bit. Also why did the resolution not change? When I check Info on the file it shows the correct settings and the correct file size. Anyone else stumble onto this? It's a weird bug. Thanks
My internet connected computer won't run file sending programs like wetransfer and applications like productive expand or productive fill in adobe photoshop program. There was no such problem before. In my research I saw that it might be caused by the firewall, but whatever I did I could not solve the problem. I am connected to the internet via cable, I also tried using my phone's internet and I had the same problem. how can I fix this problem?
