Photoshop

I know that there is a pixel limit to the generative fill, I just wish that there was a warning given in the generative fill dialogue box whenever that limit was exceeded.  It's especially important if I'm using some of the more organic selection tools and not just a rectangle or square.You know, something that would let me know that I was about to generate a blurry mess and not a quality fix.

I would like to be able to apply an outside stroke with square corners to any layer in Photoshop. The layer styles stroke tool always rounds the corners when setting the stroke to outside. I don't want the stroke inside because it covers up part of the layer. I know this can be done in the vector shape stroke tool, but I would like this same functionality to be available in the layer styles stroke tool panel. Or better yet, one tool to apply any kind of stroke to any layer would be great. I'd be happy with the same functionality in the existing tools, though. Thanks!

Hello! I use the targeted adjustment tool A LOT.  It would be great if I could access all of the parameters of an adjustment with the targeted adjustment tool with key or click modifiers when the targeted adjustment tool is active.   For example:I have a Hue/Sat adjustment layer selected with the targeted adjustment tool active, and if I hold down option or command while left clicking on an area of the image I am trying to adjust I will affect the Hue, or Brightness parameters rather than the saturation parameter. As far as I'm aware I can only affect the saturation parameter with targeted adjustment tool, and it interrupts the color correction flow when I need to go back to the adjustment panel and select the number field of parameter and use the arrow keys to dial in the adjustment so my attention stays on the image.   The now defunct Modo (RIP) had a nice feature (omni haul) that allowed the user to easily setup different click behaviors

I'm talking about this popup when trying to alter a Smart Object made by just dragging a .png to the file:Not a big deal but I'm surprised Photoshop doesn't offer a simpler, one-click solution (discard the embedded file and automatically create a new one that's a PSD/PSB). It's a bit of a hassle doing that manually. I know there are workarounds. 

Hi,  Please bring back procentual arrowhead settings for the line tool. It is very annoying to change the arrow width and length every time I change the line thickness.  Thank you! 

Can we have search field in keyboard shortcuts dialog as in new Illustrator. It will be nice to quick find command and remind shortcut or to assign new, Photoshop have more and more commands, who is going to remember all shortcuts and commands, especially when using Creative Suite or Creative Cloud.

There isn't a native feature to create a "New Smart Object Via Copy" for a Linked Smart Object.    There are times where users wish to break the association between linked SO layers to behave the same as embedded SO layers, providing independent control of a layer so that it doesn't update based on the original.   My idea/feature request is to add a new command for "New Linked Smart Object Via Copy".   The existing "New Smart Object Via Copy" command would be renamed to "New Embedded Smart Object Via Copy" so that things were crystal clear.    As an example, I created a couple of scripts to create a "New Linked Smart Object Via Copy" that breaks the association to the original file in a similar way as the native command does for Embedded Smart Objects:   https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/why-is-new-smart-object-via-copy-greyed-out-for-linked-smart-objects/td-p/14371680#U14382939   https://community.adobe.com

Please make it so that any SO that we Convert To Layers stays at the size it is at, instead of expanding to its OG transform. Kind of defeats the purpose of the action.

(1) The "New Smart Object Via Copy" command originated before Linked Smart Objects were available. One could argue that it needs to be renamed to include the word Embedded to clarify the intended use now that there are both Linked and Embedded Smart Object types, i.e.: "New Embedded Smart Object Via Copy".   (2) One can copy a Linked Smart Object layer and then use the "Convert to Smart Object" command, which will Embed the previously Linked Smart Object layer. This isn't intuitive as it's already a Smart Object, so one may not think to convert a (Linked) Smart Object to an (Embedded) Smart Object. Again, perhaps the command should now have the word Embedded added to clarify what it actually does, i.e.: "Convert to Embedded Smart Object".

There's a big area of deadspace in the curves adjustment layer properties panel on mac, meaning you have to scroll around. It's been there for so long, and it's driving me crazy. 

A Map function or window should be included in Photoshop, so that an image's location can be shown visually on a map as part of the Image Info or similar display.  There should be different map types offered, such as USGS topo, OpenStreetMap, CalTopo, Apple/Google Maps, etc. A Map View function is also desperately needed in Bridge, so when a folder of images with GPS data is opened, their locations can be identified visually on a map. It should be possible to select certain images (or groups) directly from the Map for collective metadata editing and / or opening in Photoshop. 

HelloIs it possible to add a feature of being able to hide and/or clear Recent files from the Home screen to Photoshop/Illustrator on the iPad. I know that it can be done on the Desktop version of the app but the mobile version lack the "File" menu tab where preferences can be set. Would it also be possible to add to the mobile version of Adobe software the ability to uncheck the "Autoshow Home Screen Box" that the desktop versions of Adobe software have.  Thank You

Hi Everybody, The Select Subject feature in Photoshop is very impressive. It think that and gen fill are excellent stand-out additions for the software. I think that's really going to be Adobe's niche in AI is taking MidJourney or Stable defusion images and improving them through the use of advanced editing technology. One thing that would be great is similar to Select Subject would be Select Text. Everybody's gunning for 3D and AI video, but text manipulation is is much more industrious for things like t-shirts etc IMHO. Being able to Select Text from an image would only hasten one's ability to work with creative. Thanks for reading. 

With the power of AIAn upscaling plugin is needed for Photoshop that does the simple job of adding details to images to enhance and enhance images.

I just found this forum so I’m not sure if this post is in the right place.  I hope that Adobe monitors this as I would love to see this idea go forward.I am a former professional photographer who now just shoots for the love of doing it.  Back in my film days, I always was interested in panoramas, but back then, that would mean either very expensive equipment or advanced darkroom skills.I started doing digital photography in 2003.  Later on, I learned about stitching software and began to start doing panoramas.  Over the years I learned some tricks and came up with some techniques to improve the quality.  For the past dozen or so years I have settled into using two applications, Photoshop’s Photo Merge, and Microsoft Image Composite Editor (ICE).Note: Before DPReview went away, I learned that I am far from being the only person who uses just those two programs.I realize that there are other Panorama apps, but they are expensive and between the two that I use,

Could you add an option in the History panel (and Photoshop settings) to stack new steps at the top instead of the bottom? Most of the time, we only need to go back a few steps, and constantly scrolling to the end becomes impractical when the history gets long. This shouldn’t be too difficult to implement and would save a lot of time. Thanks!

Does this keyboard command exist? I have a smart object in PSD that is a few pixels off from the edge of the artboard... there must be a keyboard shortcut that expands the SO to fill??

Why this no longer exists is mind-boggling as I swear it was part of PSD long ago. Anyways, don't care about Illustrator comments, I know you can set PREFS there.  HAVE SEEN THIS ASKED FOR OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO BRING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE FIX THIS FOR NEXT UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be great to adjust the drop of a pattern, like a halfdrop (1/2) or 1/3 etc... - not only straight view. 

I have a complaint about Photoshop. I have been using the program since the first versions and am really annoyed by the new selectionj tool behaviour, which cannot be turned off in the preferences. Please create a way to turn off the standard display of a transform frame when using the selection tool (I don't want to have to switch the view mode every time). This really gets in the way when working and activating it when needed via Ctrl+T was absolutely sufficient and better than today.(I'm currently using 26.2. on Windows)

The adjustment brush tool is just a step away from being a big time saver.Prior to Mac and photoshop I worked on the old high end sytems of that day.I was an adopter when photoshop came out and team lead on migrating to Macintosh and Photoshop.Ok the adjustment tool would be best to come up with out a preset adjustment. This is a step that most will not use. The brush itself should show a preview inside the brush when moving it around the image , what this does is allow the operator to see the preview of they edit they will make in different color ranges of the image. When doing this the operator can tweak the range of what they are going to edit to make sure it's inn the range requested by the editor. So more or less curve is open , in the adjustment to , operator makes curve edit but does not apply , they move the brush around inside the image to validate the areas of tone bhy seeing a dynamic preview inside the brush itself , if they like the range the click and bush , if they dont

Simple feat request: the ability to cancel  a perspective crop by hitting ESC. When I do a perspective crop, I sometimes click on a wrong point by accident or otherwise wish to abort the crop action. I instinctively hit the ESC button, which would normally cancel most actions, but it does not work unfortunately.  One has to finish the sequence of setting four point. (Yes I'm aware you can change the position of the point afterwards, but if a point is way off you can sometimes lose orentation and it is much faster just to cancel and start over) 

Complete newbie to PS CC here. I take multiple exposures of the night sky and stack them in software to make dim, Deep Sky Objects (DSOs) like nebulae and galaxies visible. This method is very popular among astrophotographers. The format of choice both for acquisition and stacking appears to be FITS files. Currently I can't find a way to open FITS files in PS. I have to convert my FITS files into something PS opens natively. I know of 2 old standalone freeware packages which can do this but I wondered if anyone knew of a way to do it from within PS.
