It would be great to be able to invert pressure input from wacom tablets for brush parameters. The most basic implementation would be an "invert" checkbox next to each parameter. A more powerful idea would be to have customizable pressure input curves for each parameter. This could be done with the "contour editor" used to control various layer style falloff options. In particular, I found that the pressure input for the Mixer brush's "mix" slider was the reverse of what I thought it should be, but the ability to customize the input curves for all parameters would create many new ways to use the brush tool. These curves could also be used to control exactly how much force on the pen is needed, allowing artists to work at a comfortable level of pressure and still enjoy the full range of input. This would greatly enhance the entire painting experience! Thanks!
It would be nice when creating guides you could create both horizontal and vertical guides all at once. It is very tedious to have to create every single guide needed for a graphic project.
Hi There, Yes, the workaround is to modify the .jsx script but that's a workaround SO PLEASE DON'T POST THAT AND MARK AS THE SOLITION! Instead, can we just have a 'Use Layer Names' checkbox to disable the file name prefix option? I'm sure we can all agree this would be the better, more intuitive, built-in solution - right? Cheers, Ben
Adobe please restore previous PS functionality! In previous versions of PS, users pull out a guide and it remains the color spec'd in preferences. Now, in 2024 PS, when the guides are adjusted, they turn blue. There's no way to disable this, or turn it another color. Blue is hard to see and this is very annoying. Adobe, please return this function to the way it was, or allow users to either disable it or adjust the color. PLEASE!I need your help fellow Photoshoppers, I'd love to see a lot of upvotes for this! Thank you!
We should have the ability to create custom frames to make pictures fit in other shapes (e.g., a polygon). I proposed that this idea be integrated into the lasso tools, marquee tools, shapes tools, and even the pen tool via a button that will convert the shape or section into a usable picture frame. This feature should also be available under the frame tool section for added convenience. The frame tool seems lacking, and there should have more functionality. Adding this feature will expand the use of the frame tool functionality for newer releases of Photoshop. I hope this idea will be useful to fellow Photoshop users as well. Let me know what you think about this idea. Thank you!
Hi, I'm a photographer who's unhappy with Adobe. It's bad enought that we're forced to use a subscription based software that seemingly has issues with every update that causes a loss of time in figuring out how to do the same thing I did before. Now Adobe is advertising "skip the photoshoot", and that AI is the "new digital camera". Have we reached a point where not even Adobe values photographers? I thought it would be budget minded clients that pushed me out of this industry, but increasingly, it seems to be tone deaf Adobe. Is anyone else tired of Adobe's hamster wheel? https://petapixel.com/2024/05/03/adobe-throws-photographers-under-the-bus-again-skip-the-photoshoot/
When inserting a larger image that exceeds the canvas area, pressing Ctrl+T (for resizing) should have the default position set to the top-left corner (or remember the previous position). In the resize function, there should be an additional button to automatically scale the entire image to fit the canvas size, instead of just having rotate and flip options. This would be a much more useful feature than rotate and flip. The current resizing options are limiting. A "Fit to Canvas" feature would be much more practical and accessible for everyday use than rotate and flip. This function would streamline workflows and save time for users who frequently need to resize images. Many users, especially those working with large or multiple images, face this challenge. It would benefit a broad user base, not just a niche group.
With a big document it can take so long to find things nested within layer groups, often you need to scroll forever. I often have more than 500 layers in a document It would be great to be able to put in bookmarks which would also be acessable via shortcuts to jump around the layer panel. These could be added next to the layer search bar, see attachedFurther more dragging a layer or group over the bookmark at the top would place this layer just above (or below if alt is held) Further to this it would be great if we could split the view of the layer panel into 2 so if there is 2 sections of a document that need work you could keep each part visible. Obviously it would also be great to be able to drag layers between these sub panels if needed.
I work extensively with deeply-layered screen-resolution documents (ie. mock-ups). I like to keep my history -- or at least some of it -- of experiments as Layer Comps. But every now and again, these PSDs will get prohibitively heavy. So what I'm looking for is a command, or script, that will let me purge any layer which is not visible in ANY Layer Comp in the file. Does such a script exist?
Hi guys, I've been working with PS for more than 10 years and I found a few things that should be tackled in future versions. However there is one feature which I am really missing ever since. It would have saved me a lot of time, and (to me) it's so obvious: projects! I simply want to save my current status of photoshop, including my opened documents and their positions on the workspace. The reason simply is, that I am regularely working with more than just a few files at the same time. I am in the games and web business working with lots and lots of smaller assets. If I need to shut down my computer (which is actually required in my company over night) then I have to reload all my files manually on the next working day. I think this feature has to go into PS in one imaginable way or another after so many years. Even more as there are a number of other Adobe Tools (e.g. After Effects) which had that from the beginning. And PS isn't bound to one single field in graphics anymore - i
Two Suggestions:1) Be able to re-position Reference Image Gallery images toward the top and lock them down from randomly moving each time feature is selected. Makes them easier to find. Also label the reference images so that the process chosen can be documented for future reference.2) Allow the Content Type, Reference Images, and Effects to be applied to an existing photograph and not having to use a prompt to apply the A.I. to a person's own photo.
Photoshop currently lacks native support for exporting images in base64 format, a crucial feature for web developers who often embed images directly into HTML or CSS.Adding the ability to export images as base64 would greatly improve the workflow for developers, eliminating the need for external tools or manual conversions. This would make it easier to integrate images seamlessly into code and enhance productivity for those working on web projects.Considering that base64 is a widely used format in modern web development, including it in Photoshop would help maintain its position as an essential tool for digital professionals.
When pasting images from the web into Photoshop, it would be incredibly useful if they were automatically inserted as Smart Objects. This would preserve the quality and allow for non-destructive editing right from the start.Adding a setting that lets users choose this as the default behavior would streamline workflows, especially for designers and developers who frequently work with web-sourced images. It would eliminate the need for extra steps and help users maintain flexibility in their edits without losing image quality. This feature would be a valuable time-saver and enhance productivity for many users working with web assets.
I think many iPad users would love a quick way to merge all visible layers into a new top layer function. Thanks
I don't see dust and scratches filter in photoshop for iPad. For those of us using film based photos this would be a great tool addition. Thanks
Hello all, I'd like to share a frustration/feature request I have with the Photoshop UI. On Windows 11, when moving between Photoshop and, let's say, Illustrator, the pull-down and context menus appear differently. Illustrator has the clean, spacious, rounded look of Windows 11, while Photoshop has the- in my opinion- more crowded and harder-to-read Windows 10 menus. See the photos below. I asked Adobe Support if there was an option to make Photoshop's UI consistent with the look & feel of the other Adobe apps. They said that this difference is by design. But... why? If you use Adobe on a Mac, all of the apps have an identical look & feel. Why not on Windows? Why does Photoshop look like it's running on a different opperating system? I know I'm nit-picking, but when I have these programs open side-by-side, the differences are distracting. And, the menus are harder for me to read in Photoshop. I recognize that Adobe won't force a whole new UI on their users,
It would be great if it was possible to add camera raw masking options, people finder and other advanced options to the normal select subject section.
Hi there. Can we have minimum AND maximum filter in the same window ? I’m not using them enough to assign shortcuts or to memorize if black or white will grow. Half of the time i pick one for the other and have to close and dig again inside the menus... I would love it if they were joined.
You provide the ability to save metadata (tags) to a file but do not provide ability to do so for video, why??? This would be great as i wanted to import my files into a new catalog and bring the tags along with it.
Hi, Changing the brush size by leaning the pen (i.e. the more inclined the pen, the bigger the brush size) is a common feature in PAINTING software, which Photoshop lacks, and would be very welcomed by the painting crowd. I've used a similar feature on Painter 11, MyPaint 1.0 and Gimp 2.8.6, and I find it really useful, since it allows a faster and less stressful access to a HIGHLY REPETITIVE TASK. Thanks for your attention, Antonio.
This is about the generative fill tool provided in Photoshop beta version currently.I tried to add several famous personalities, for example: hollywood actress, bollywood actors etc but no matter what, the AI just doesnt recognize any single of them and rather adds weird distorted images which looks almost like aliens. The other thing which I would like to mention is that most of the times, if human pictures are added by generative fill, either the face or hands are distorted too much which looks like alien pictures or those are made too much "surface blurred" which doesnt really blend well with the background and surrounding people in the existing photo. This should be good features to have to be corrected.
I know brush rotation can be changed with the left and right arrow keys but it baffles me why bust roundness cannot be adjusted with the up and down arrow keys I really do feel the brush system needs a complete overhaul with other apps much more capable on the ipad these days.
The most common file formats should be first in the list when clicking the curtain in Save as.For now, TIF is not visible so you have to scroll down to see it. Put Tif, jpg and such first in the list
The GPU information in the Document Status is valuable. I however woud not want to turn off my image size display just to see my GPU status. While the info window has options to select multiple options to be displayed at once, I can't afford the screen real estate for another window. The ask is to let the user pick multiple options in the Document Status Bar not just one. Ex: Document Sizes, Document Dimentions, and GPU so the display in the Document Status bar would be viewed as: Doc:9.00/9.33M, 2048 px x 1536 px (72PPI), Metal
19.1, iMac, Sonoma 14.4.1, Photoshop 25.7: The scrolling font menu is entirely insufficient. Is it possible to enlarge it?
