Any idea when the Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect will be moved into the public version?  The obsolete timecode effect in version 15.4 does not interpret footage correctly and leads to a ton of extra mouse clicks to get the correct timecode settings. 

The October 2022 release of Adobe’s video products adds support for ARRIRAW and ProRes files from the ARRI ALEXA 35.    But we’re not done! We are working on several more ARRI-related features. Two are already in beta and we’d love to get your feedback on them.    The first is improved support for anamorphic footage captured in ARRIRAW. We now recognize the Lens Squeeze Factor entered in the camera. This value appears in the Interpret Footage dialog and can be changed as necessary. We've tested this feature with anamorphic lenses with a 2x squeeze factor. If you're using anamorphic lenses with a different squeeze factor, we'd love to hear your experience.  The second feature in beta is hardware acceleration for ARRIRAW. This makes the playback of ARRIRAW footage smoother and works on both Macintosh and Windows computers. It also works with all ARRIRAW footage - not just from the ALEXA 35 - and applies to both .mxf and .ari ARRIRAW files.    Your feed

Hi! Whenever I am extracting text in the text editing feature of my video, it keeps jumping ahead to a random spot in my sequence after every single extraction, so I have to constantly scroll back to find where I had made the extraction and try to keep going from there. Please help! This is majorly slowing down what could be a wonderful assembly editing process!

In Premiere 23.0 we’re changing the default preview codec for most new sequences created from media to Apple ProRes 422 LT.  The previous default was I-Frame Only MPEG.     We’re making this change to improve playback and export times when working with rendered preview files.  In most cases, ProRes is a better choice than MPEG for rendered previews in terms of video quality and playback performance, although the speed and hardware acceleration available on your system will also come into play.   Note: This is only a change to the default setting for preview codec for most sequences.  You can always change your preview codec by going to Sequence > Sequence Settings and selecting a different format and codec in the “Video Previews” section.   Why ProRes LT We chose ProRes LT because it's a good middle ground regarding data footprint vs quality.  It's a very close match in terms of quality with MPEG, so you should not notice any quality degradat

More information is available here.   ------------   In this latest public beta, Premiere Pro introduces automated tone mapping for HDR (High Dynamic Range) video to SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) video workflows.   Tone mapping works with iPhone HLG, Sony S-Log, Canon Log, and Panasonic V-Log media, as well as media that is in HLG and PQ color spaces.   TWO STEPS TO TONEMAPPING   Tone mapping is done in Two-Steps. First, you set the clip’s color space to the wide gamut color space it was recorded in (like Sony S-Log) in the Interpret Footage dialogue.           Then you must drag that clip to a Rec. 709 timeline. Hold down any of the following keys during launch to bring up this dialog (Command, Option, Shift / Control, Alt, Shift).  You have the choice to reset any or all the following options: preferences, media cache, plugin cache, and also bypass third-party plugins from loading.  Savvy users already know about these troubleshooting steps, but we have combined them all into one dialog to make it more convenient.   The corresponding key used to bring up the dialog will auto-select that setting in the dialog (e.g. using ‘Option/Alt’ to bring up the dialog will auto-select the ‘Reset app preferences’ checkbox.  You can also combine keys that will result in multiple options selected (e.g., ‘Shift + Option/Alt’ will result in auto-selecting ‘Reset app preferences’ and ‘Reset plugin loading cache’).  Once the dialog is up, you are free to make any selection you like.   Shift                          &n

I've loaded an MP4 file -- several of them -- that are clear and understandable with good volume levels. The transcription window has all kinds of popups -- auto transcribe, something unreadable because  the words are wider than the button ... The blue transcribe button does nothing. Clicking on the three dots lets you pick "Static transcription." I have just found this bug (in February 2023)...and how to reproduce it and how to fix it:How to reproduce it (in version 23.3.0 BETA Build 35 on Windows 10)1. Do a ctrl-alt drag of a clip to swap its place with another clip2. That's it. If you then try to drag/move any clips in the timeline, the pointer turns to a 🚫 "no way" symbol and the clips are immovable. It's still possibe to trim, copy, paste and all manner of other things, just forget about dragging a whole clip around. How to fix itAs someone suggested in this post, docking the timeline panel into another panel fixes it. You can then drag your timeline panel back to its original position and everything's great again.

I have projects that contain hours of speech. Every time I open Premiere Beta it does speech to text transcriptions even though I already let Premiere complete the process and even though I have not added any video to the project. The process takes a long time. And, even though it's happening in the background, when I'm in my timeline, my video playback will hesitate for about 10 to 20 seconds every time I hit the play button. I have to stop the transcription process every time I open a Premiere project.

So, it's been a while since I've started a new project.  I loaded the files into a folder on my media drive, then started Premier and clicked to start a new project. The first thing I see is a display of clips from the wrong folder in the Import page. The first thing I saw was the breadcrumbs, so I drilled into my media folder, and all the files appeared, and I expected that to set the destination for the new project.  But then I looked up and "Project Location" was still set at the folder for the last project I was using.  Annoyed, I set that to the correct folder, gave the project a name, and then clicked "Create" (which is at the far bottom right of the screen, hard to find). The project created and all the clips were now on the timeline, but because the first image was a vertical still shot, the whole timeline had taken on those parameters. There are an awfull lot of them (imo too many and they do not fit all in the top bar) I only use two or three of my own. Cannot you put in an option to select a few or all and move them in one go to Do Not Show instead of me having to move them one at a time.      

I would like to suggest Adobe to include an option to disable the auto scroll function in the transcript and caption (text) panel. As much as it's convenient for the caption to scroll according to the playback time, but it's annoying when you try to edit a previous or next caption, and the caption keeps move up and down while you click. The other issue is the double click to edit. It's a waste of time. And it's buggy too. Sometimes, double clicking doesn't work, and I have to click back and forth to get it to work. It's more apparent when it's at the end of the sequence. I really love how the subtitle now enjoys the same clip editing method as video clip. But I still very much prefer the old way of editing the text in subtitle.

This broke in this or the last build. The folder comes over but not its content. Instead I had to select all the individual files and then drag them into the project for import.

I noted with alarm that tape capture is being omitted in the latest builds. And then I tried it in the latest build and it's just a blank dialog.NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!I use tape capture all the time when capturing legacy tapes for clients. It's a big part of my business. Premiere Pro disables automatic log color management for Sony XAVC Slog clips as a default in this latest beta. It now has a new preference setting for easy enabling of the feature.   This is a change from the previous behavior where automatic log space detection and color management for Sony XAVC Slog video was enabled as a default, and imported XAVC clips were color managed.   For Premiere users that did not want their XAVC Slog clips color managed, they had to manually override color management and set each clip to Rec 709.   In this beta, the behavior has changed -- automatic detection and color management of  XAVC Slog clips will not be the default behavior. Premiere users will have to “opt in” to use it.   Premiere Pro users can decide if they want automatic detection of Sony XAVC Slog clips, and color management by enabling the new “Log Color Management” setting in the preferences panel, by going to File > Preferences > General and checking “Log Co

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASEGet this to the top of the development list. Make the default export folder (when you first go to export) the CURRENT PROJECT FOLDER, you know, the one that has the .prproj file in it that you're working on. I can't count the number of times I've exported something only to spend 15 minutes trying to find it in File explorer. For those who want it to stay in the last used folder, or a designated export folder, put those options in settings, but the default behavior should be to export to the current folder, then allow the user to select another. If the user selects another folder, have it stay with the project, so the next time the project is opened (after editing something else), it defaults to that folder. If the user opens another project, exports default to that project folder, or one that was saved in an earlier session of that project. (I think we've only been asking for this for about 10 years.)

Every now and then I test Premiere Pro beta and now with the newest beta I noticed that compared to the non-beta version timeline playback performance of Canon 8K RAW files (R5, R5C) is bad. This is both in my Windows PC and M1 MAX Macbook Pro 64GB. I get dropped frames in 4K timeline and clips scaled to 50% no matter what the playback resolution is. In the non-beta I get no dropped frames in 1/2 or 1/4 playback resolution. High quality playback is set to off in both. Adobe please check this. My PCAMD Ryzen 3960X64GBNvidia 2080 TI
