Adobe just released a new premiere pro version which claims that it works better with AMD GPUS. Does that mean AMD GPUS are equivalent to Nvidia GPUS for premiere pro nowadays?
Hi everyone, Am upgrading my mid level PC and have AMD Ryzen 5 3600x with 32gb ram and 1tb ssd card. Now looking to buy a GPU but am bewildered by the choice. Needs to be able to do a bit of 4k editing. Currently does this with GTX 970 but a bit glitchy. Currently looking at RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 so around about £300-350 price range. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you so much.
I recently acquired a Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and am running High Sierra with the following specs: Processor: 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel XeonMemory: 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB I tried running the latest version of Adobe Premiere and it ends up performing ridiculously slowly, eventually I get the spinning wheel of death and have to force quit. I know nothing about graphics cards and such. Do I need to update my graphics card to be able to use Premiere? Or would it help to run a previous version of Premiere instead? Any input on what I can do to my comptuer to get it to run adobe properly is much appreciated. I traded a 2015 iMac with 32GB of RAM for this Mac Pro and now I'm wondering if I should have kept the iMac instead. It seemed to run Premiere just fine.
Hi there, I'm considering getting a new laptop for video editing and I was wondering what would be your opinion regarding the following laptop: https://store.hp.com/NetherlandsStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=3L493EA&opt=ABH&sel=NTB#specs Specter x360 specs: Windows 10 Home 64Intel® Core ™ i7-10750H (6 cores)39.6 cm (15.6 ") 4K touchscreen16 GB RAM - 1 TB PCIe® SSDNVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 with Max-Q design (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated) Initially, I was thinking about getting the Predator Helios 300: https://nl-store.acer.com/predator-helios-300-gaming-laptop-ph315-52-zwart-1 but having a touchscreen for some design work could be handy (hence the Specter x360 consideration). I am planning to buy an iMac but due to lockdown the top model in iMac 21.5 inch is not available so I am thinking to go for a second variant in 21.5 inch. Please suggest. I require it for basic video editing.
Hey guys, I amgetting a computer built for me and computer specs confuse me. I'll be editing mostly 4K projects, drone, Sony a7iii and GoPro footage in premiere pro and after effects. I will also he doing a lot in Lightroom and photoshop. These are the specs I got suggested for my budget. Is this ok? I come across the Mercury software render only thing in the project settings which is a bummer... and really wanted my RX 570 8GB to do the work... and this worked for me. Installed latest drivers from the Radeon site with the automatic installer software. A couple reboots later and it was installed. Also opened the registry editor at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors and changed IntelOpenCL64.dll from 0 to 1 On this older but still good working rig:I7-4770K 16GB RX 570Crucial BX500 1TB SSDWIN 10 Hope this helps someone else.
I am thinking of getting the Asus Zephyrus G14 with the 4800hs and a GTX 1650ti. I have been watching videos and articles saying that Intel is better for video editing because of QuickSync. But now I've seen more reviews talking about the new update with GPU-accelerated rendering, which is supposed to help Ryzen CPUs with render times. The main question I have is, will the laptop have good video playback in Premiere Pro and After Effects (Not much shuttering and able to handle effects). Render times don't matter as much to me :).
I need to run Premiere Pro on a system with Intel Graphics 4600Radeon R7 25016GB RamIntel I7-4770 , 3.4GHzThe system is only required to do basic Video Editing task ( use of After Effects is also very occassionaly required). I realise the 4600 is not supported by Adobe, however any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi guys! I'm seeing that when rendering en media encoder, and also in premiere. the sistem is not working as muchas as it could. My CPU, GPU, and RAM Memory are under 30% while rendering a 1hour video in H264. I understand this means my render times should be shorter if using full capabilitie. I have an Intel i7-4790K CPU 32GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 with 6GB could there be something wrong in my config? thanks!!!
Hello!Does anybody here has experiences with working with 4k source material on a Macbook Pro 2012 (mid 2012) unibody? Is that possible anyway? My question acutally relates to two different Macbooks:1. Macbook Pro 13 (mid 2012), i5 2.5Ghz, 1 TB SSD, 8GB RAM (my current macbook)2. Macbook Pro 15 (mid 2012), i7, 2.6Ghz, 16 GB RAMFor full HD my current Macbook (no. 1) was good enough, as I only use it for cutting simple videos (only one camera, no effects). With 4k video sources I don't get a flued video preview, so I can't work with it.I would be great to know, if upgrading to a used Macbook Pro 15 (no. 2) unibody would allow me to do this. I know that the latest unibody models from 2012 have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. I really love these old unibody macbooks due to their upgrading and maintanance options, so I would prefer it over a newer retina model.Hope anyone can help!?
Hi, If my iGPU is enabled, Premiere Pro uses it for scrubbing. This results in highly delayed scrubbing performance. If I disable the iGPU, Premiere Pro uses the CPU for scrubbing. This results in faster scrubbing performance but very high CPU utilization. 1. Can I tell Premiere Pro not to use the iGPU, without having to disable the iGPU in the Windows device manager?2. Can Premiere Pro utilize CUDA/Nvidia GPU for scrubbing acceleration? Thank you!

Upgrading Sons 3 year old Editing PC, add more Ram from 16gb to 64gb, upgrade Ryzen 1700X CPU TO Ryzen 9 3900X or XT, and upgrading all internal drives to the following setup, and i need advice on whether this looks ok.He mostly shoots 4.6k BRAW or 4.6k ProRes 422 HQ (25p and 50p) with his URSA Mini Pro G2 camera, and his average project Source files can vary between 500gb up to 1tb, hence the reason for the 2tb Samsung 860 Pro SSD's Drive 1 = 512gb Samsung 970 Pro NVMe = Windows 10 Pro + Premier install + other appsDrive 2 = 2tb Samsung 860 Pro SSD = Project Source FilesDrive 3 = 2tb Samsung 860 Pro SSD = Exports from PremierDrive 4 = 1tb Samsung 860 Pro SSD = Premier Media Cache & Scratch FilesDrive 5 = 8tb Seagate 7200 3.5" mechanical drive = Storage - Dumping completed project files on. This might be too complicated question. After reading up on various PC specifications, I am just more confused. I previously had Acer S680Gi5-750 2.66GHz4GB DDR3. 640GB.Fx 380 512 mb – Graphics card.Premiere CC 2018 worked ok, a little slugish but done the job.The PC died after doing a lot of work over years, got my monies worth. I have about $150 to replace the old Acer S680G.Sticking with win7 and Premiere CC 2018 for now. Regarding refurbished box:Hard drive space is not a consideration. Win10 is not a requirement.(We still have the old Acer S680G HD loaded with win7)If the new computer has at least 4GB memory and accepting slots.(We also have 2x 2GB Memory sticks from Acer S680G)For a minimum of 8GB memory in total. If someone is up with CPU/RAM and Graphics I have a question: I would like your advice on the new PC CPU/Graphics card combination.Regarding the Acer Veriton X4630G with Intel HD Graphics 4600.The maximum shared Vram Memory is a
The time has finally come to upgrade my "Late 2012 iMac" that has somehow managed to make it this far running all of Adobe's software. I have decided to either purchase a souped-up MacBook Air, or a MacBook Pro. The thing is I am on a pretty tight budget, and while I am trying to save where I can, I definitely do not want to shoot myself in the foot a couple of years from now... point is, I want this to last me for a while and would appreciate any advice on how I should proceed. I primarily use Photoshop and Illustrator, but occasionally use After Effects, Audition, and Premiere as well. Here are MacBooks that I am looking at, but will only list the concerns I have in terms of sustainable functionality versus cost effectiveness: MacBook Air:- 1.2 GHz quad-core 10th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8 GHz- 16 GB 3733MHz LPDDR4X memory MacBook Pro 13":- 2.0 GHz quad-core 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHzOR- 2.3 GHz quar
Looking at a getting a laptop at best value and would love some input. Projects will be in 4K and 15mins in length. I definitely want to stay under $2K. Looking at MSI Prestige 15.6" Laptop - 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10710U - GeForce GTX 1650 Max Q - 4K -32GB RAM and trying to determine if delta of more $ vs going with a 16GB RAM System. Looking to move fast. Thanks in advance.
Hello All, I want a laptop under 1 lakh INR (budget laptop) purely for Video Editing purpose. Please recommend a good laptop model with supports Premiere Pro 100% and BEST for video editing under 1 lakh price. My preference: Editing should be smooth, decent battery life and good sound quality. Also, can Gaming laptops be 100% compatible for video editing? Why? Why not? Pls advise ASAP, thank you!
Hi all,I've recently upgraded my laptop from one based on an Intel i5-8250U to one with the AMD 2500U, specifically for the more powerful integrated GPU. However, HP configured the 2500U to have 1GB of "fixed" shared memory, plus 7GB of "flexible" shared memory that is otherwise available to the OS if unused. However, Premiere Pro and AME (checked through GPUsniffer) only seem to detect the fixed 1GB portion of the available GPU RAM. While they allow me to select Mercury Playback Engine with OpenCL, the GPU is not actually being utilized - render times are identical to "Software Only" and are abysmally slow. The same project on other systems, even the Intel i5-8250U, makes plenty use of GPU acceleration for rendering out e.g. Lumetri Color. The Intel GPU only shows up as having "flexible" shared memory in Task Manager, yet detects with 4GB in GPUsniffer. So my question is, is there a way to trick the Adobe apps into seeing more of the available GPU memory or simply forcing them to utiliz
So I am considering two PC Towers. I really can not go above 1K. The first is just under 900... the second about 1.2K The reason I am asking here in the Premiere Pro area, is that I heard there may be an issue with it in regards to Premiere. Now, I want a computer that I can run my XP-Pen Artist 24 tablet and BenQPD3220U monitor on. What I will be using it for: Graphic Design Photo Editing Video Editing/Rendering Animation 2D Streaming Gaming Screen Capture, Video Capture What are your thoughts? I do not have time to build one myself....nor do I know how to build one. So I have to buy it. Could there be an issue with green lines in video with these? I'm setting up from scratch with Premiere Pro on Windows. I'll need a keyboard - any suggestions? Thanks! Tim
Hi, I'm struggling to choose the correct computer for my son (15). I have got adobe creative cloud, he likes to make videos but I suppose he is only at a novive level He prefers to use rush over premiere as it is simpler, though I would like him to begin to learn it. He wants to use animate. My current computer is struggling (it is an old i5 cpu) so I have been looking around the internet and there seems to be lots of threads about gpu issues and premiere (with explanation of fixes way above my understanding) someone suggested an integrated gpu i7-1065G7 rather than non integrated gpu. What do you think? I also understand for animate the ghz will be too low but at some point a fix will come. I wouldn't really like to go over £800. Any advice greatly appreciated, Steven.
