Questions

posted a photo below, but all my work from yesterday just... isn't registering? I'm on the same material I was yesterday and I haven't made any changes. Saved my stuff (multiple times), went to bed, and now it seems like it's missing. the error says "No output node defined" but I thought my final base material node at the end would cover this? Again, same setup I had yesterday and did not have this error. In the official Adobe documentation (Warnings in function graphs | Substance 3D Designer (adobe.com)) It shows to RMB the output node appropriate (my base material node at the end in this case) and select the "set as output node" but this is not an option when I right click this node. limited time to finish this and could use any help! PS... very new to substance  

I was normally working with 8K files inside of SD and everything was fine I saved the project and when I opened it an hour later it just takes forever to load (and never loads) Is there a way to recover it somehow or see the logs to check what went wrong? Does SD save autosaves if yes where can I find them? The project was in 8K mode, is it possible to edit the file somehow so that it would open it in some lower resolution? Thanks!

I have a substance graph set to default resolution of 4096 x 4096 and I'd like to output at half res or lower. I am having a hard time finding where to make the resolution change and have it apply to all outputs. The graph has multiple image inputs and outputs. If I change the graph global resolution, the changes don't get applied to the outputs. The output nodes seem to be referring up the chain to the resolution of the input, which is set to an absolute value of 4096. So then I figured I could edit the resolution of all the inputs, but I am finding it's not as easy as selecting all and editing the resolution because editing parameters on multiple nodes at once doesn't seem to be possible. Seems like it's forcing me to edit the nodes one by one. There's got to be an easier way. What's the workflow for outputting at lower resolutions?

I have a set of 12 images, I'd like to do edits on these images in Designer, and output 12 new images. Each image has the same set of adjustments done to it, ie. the set of nodes is the same exept for the input and output. You can see the pattern in the attached image. The problem I find is that if I want to add an extra node, I need to do it 12 times. Is there a workflow in Designer to handle loops? I'd like to have set of filters that processes a set of inputs in a for-each kind of way, where each input has a unique output. Thanks!

Hi Are the color spaces for the various outputs in Substance Player the same as they are in Painter? (sRGB for color data, non-color managed for maps like Height, Normal, etc). And does this change depending on the format? (PNG/EXR/TIF/etc.)? (wasn't sure where to ask, since there doesn't appear to be a separate Player community).Thanks!

I'm using the Substance edition, version 11.2.2 build 5117:I do not have the option to publish a substance graph to SBSAR format in the context menu, nor is the button for it available in the Explorer panel. I followed the documentation page on publishing SBSAR:I tried searching to see if this is an expected behaviour for Substance Edition, but I had no luck finding an answer. Thank you!

Hi, I was recently testing spline nodes family in SD (which are super cool btw) and I have noticed that when I use Spline Sample Height with a grayscale node (Anisotropic Noise) to drive the height of cables along the Y axis and make them look "tangled" - Hor. Along Spline (rand. offset Y) - which is probably the most common setup - I get nice tangled  cables but, I can clearly see them intersecting with each other when the brightness of each cable is similar in value (see attached screenshots).Is there any way to fix that? Some settings I can change / tweak or is it just a side effect of the node itself and how it works? Best regards,Robert     

Hi all, I just got the latest Substance Designer (version 13. 1. 0) and I have noticed that using nodes like Non Uniform Dir. Warp Grayscale  results in having very visible "banding" artifacts in the Heightmap, Normal Map and AO. My document is set to 16 bit, all the nodes are 16 bit and document resolution is 2048x2048. From what I remember my previous version of SD (which was like a year old) didn't have that issue. Right now the only way to avoid those artifacts is to use Blur HQ node which is not always helpfull as it "softens" the look. Hi Everyone, Please have a look at the attached image. I need to create the fabric thread pattern and color as it is like that, I don't have a clear idea to make the colour of the fabric threads some threads looks darker green, light green and others looks close to white. Hello community! Question: Do we have any way to export custom shortcuts? Personally I have a lot of shortcut for substance's nodes and my custom nodes but I didn't find a way to transfer them to another computer. There is no button for exporting shortcut as far as I know. Just a thought: maybe we can bind shortcut setting into Project Files so every shortcut and custom node will  follow this project. Merry christmas,Hang

There's an option in substance painter that is only applicable to brushes where it does random seed on every stroke or stamp. I was wondering if this is also possible for tiling? 

Hi, I'm new to Substance Designer. In my 3D model, there are four objects, each with a designated material. After exporting as FBX and importing into Substance Designer, the materials of the model itself do not appear in the material section of the 3D view. I would like to ask if anyone knows where the issue might be. HiI am looking for the usage of the channel parameter group that I see in some of the default Substance Painter materials. When I activate or deactivate them nothing seems to happen.Thank you!

Hi there, I have this question that in my opinion would be great if it works. Is it possible to use a curve as value processor input so it can be used as custom distribution instead of a linear one? What I am trying to make is a remap a linear distribution based in a custom curve. Instead of using a linear one where all the samples are equally distributed, using the curve would remap these values in the position where we want. Thank you

I have two different resolutions of meshes, but I do not want to go through the process of renaming my geo from high to low as its a bit of a pain in Zbrush to do that. So I exported lower res geo with the same name as the high res geo and want to use a "_high" suffix to match to. In painter I can customize this input to make it work but in designer this does not seem to be possible. Am i missing an option to allow this?Thanks

I'm having a weird issue where only the 3D viewport has inverted zoom. 2D and graph zooms work as usual, but 3D is inverted. Any soulution to make them all zoom the same way?

Hi, I recently updated Substance Designer to the latest version 11.3.0 and I wanted to know if there is a way to reverse the mouse scrolling: when I scroll up, it zooms in and down, it zooms out.   I know I could do it with previous versions but I can't find the setting that would allow me to do it in the lastest version. Thanks

I want to show my texture in my 3d view  but didn't show Pelin noisewhy  is my base material input is not working

I often get SD  slow as hell .  Loading and rendering  substanses forever  and  wondering how I managed to create  them at all.     Could number of other sbs files previously loaded and visiable curently  in explorer panel be a reason? Also should I avoide  doing  several graphs in single sbs?  I am accustommed to versions  as copy paste  the graphs inside same  sbs . Is it a bad practice   and there is better way to save versions of same thing?

hello the image below was made in Blender with the modifier: displace.  Is it possible to do it in Substance Designer with procedural maps?Note that the edges/corners of the box are also embossed.My goal is mainly to make these edges with relief.thanks

Let's say, using pixel procressor, I want to output the first 32x32 pixels from the input (i.e keeping the rest black, value = 0).How do I achieve that?  I first thought that using while loop one can create a "list" of position values that could be fed into sample grayscale/color but I guess it doesn't work like that. It only gives the value at position that while loop calculates in the last iteration. In the attached screenshot, my intent was to output 32 pixels diagonally (from top right corner) but it gave the value at position (32,32). How do I append the results of Sample gray? (Why do I want the first 32 pixels? For no reason, I'm taking baby steps right now. Once I connect enough dots then I'll node my way to get a specific result I want to achieve. Something that can work with general input. I'll share that node graph and tutorial with you all!)
