I’m exploring the Element 3D plugin in Adobe After Effects and need some clarity regarding its inbuilt features. Does Element 3D provide In-built option?

Hi.  I am using the new Content-Aware Fill feature to remove a small section of a video.  The Analyze footage step goes fairly quickly, but the rendering step is taking hours and hours and hours...The footage I am using is 4K60 and the clip itself is only about 16 seconds long.  It has been rendering for at least 12 hours now (!!!) and is still only on frame 543 of 996.I am using a 2018 iMac (Core i7@4,2GHz) with 40GB RAM.  I have been watching the activity monitor off and on and the CPU usage for the AE process is very low (5-10%).I have tried searching the Forum and other sources but have been unable to find others that are having the same issue or any suggestions as to what I can do to improve things.  Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated!

I worked on an imported video just fine yesterday, and sent it to render queue. Today, I created a new project and imported a nested Premiere clip into After Effects, by using file > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import Premiere Pro Sequence. The vide shows up fine as "filename/filename.pproj", so I drag it down to the icon to create a new composition. The composition appears, with nothing but a blank black screen. I've already updated both Premiere and AE to the latest 25.1 versions. I've already cleared ALL cache, closed the app and tried again - but still nothing appears. I even made sure everything is set to Rec. 2100 HLG on both sides.

Hi, I’d like to ask for some advice. I’ve received a set of videos shot on an iPhone 15 Pro in HDR. However, after importing them into After Effects, the overall color quality of these videos has worsened. I understand that my computer operates in SDR mode. To address this, I tried adjusting the color profile in Project Settings > Color and Interpret Footage > Color in AE. Despite trying many options, the video still doesn’t display acceptable colors. Interestingly, when I import the video into CapCut and simply re-export it, the colors match those from the iPhone. Could anyone advise me on which profile to set in AE to fix this?

Hi, I am new into 3d tracking, i am making a scene using 3d tracker using some yt tutorials.Let's suppose there is a scene, used 3d tracker on it, selected some point and then used "create solid and camera" option. But the my doubt is some youtubers are copying the position property of that solid and are pasting it to the asset which we want in the scene while some are using parenting feature in which they link asset to the solid layer with a pick whip while pressing shift, so which one is better to get a smooth result, because when i use copy method i see that asset moves a little bit as camera moves in scene but sometimes it works same as the parenting method.

I've done everything through the After Effects CC 2020 program. I am using Windows 10. And I never deleted the codec or the Quick time player. However an error occurred while I was rendering through Adobe Media Encoder So I ran the after effect. And found an error message. "After Effects error: the source compression type is not supported (86 :: 1)" "After Effects error: file '# 2 snow BG.mp4" cannot be imported? this '.mp4' file is damaged or unsupported. "After Effects error : Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct permissions. (86 ::1 )"About 20 types of error messages have been found I tried various methods because I could not understand, but failed. 1. All auto saved files have the same symptom. 2. Importing the source again produces the same error. 3. After importing the new After Effects, there is no problem. I had done everything. Suddenly this happened to me. I want to cry The project is no longer able to proceed. I need great help,

Hi community. Ive noticed when using shapes, and adding a stroke, the stroke never sits pixel perfect. Is there a way to make it crisp, without one pixel looking as if it has half pixel? No stroke applied to the shapes. and still half pixels are visible.     1 pixel strokes applied to the shapes. results in more visible half pixels.  This would be the ideal solution to be pixel perfect like photoshop.   Thank you. 

How do I create a rectangle of my desired size/shape and position as a Shape Layer then convert it to an editable Path?

Hello community, hoping someone can help me with a small issue, but that has been driving me really crazy. After Effects always defaults any new file I create to an old project location. Both when I first click Save As, as when I try and render, it always goes to this obscure folder. I'm used to After Effects trying to create a new project in the C:\Users...Adobe\After Effects folder and then navigating over. But this hasn't been the behaviour for the last 6+ months. To exacerbate the issue, when I open a project from the Recents splash screen and then upres to a new version, I expect this new save to happen in the same folder I'm operating in, but instead of that, it goes to that one project folder. Same with rendering, when I queue something up, I expect it to want to render it next to where my file lives. Nope, each time it just wants to throw everything into that old folder. Is there any workaround to this? I don't seem to be able to find a setting for default saves. Just

I just updated my After Effects to version 14.2.0.198, and unfortunely "ae_force_english.txt" in "%userprofile%\documents" does not work (Windows 10 pro 64-bit).Is there any method to solve this problem without reinstall. I need to use Afterfx in English and other applications in Chinese. It's quite a bad experience to change my language in the settings every time I update my software.

Why does AE take 63 hours to render?? Am I just supposed to wait for more than 2 days for a 20-30 second edit?😭🙏

Whenever I open any After Effects project, I get a grey blank screen in my composition preview window. All I see are the two options to create a new comp, or new composition from footage. Occasionally, if I reset my preferences to default by launching After Effects and holding down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT, it will resolve the problem, however, it may take a couple tries. Resetting the workspace does not work, creating a new workspace does not work, and creating new comps makes no difference. Zooming in to fit the screen to 100% does not work either. So for now, I am just forced to constantly try and restart my AE in different ways through a project file, through administrator, or through resetting preferences and hopefully one of them will work to display my composition.While this is a work around it takes time and shouldn't be happening to begin with. Any idea what the solution is here? Seems like the 2018 releases of Adobe are pretty glitchy. Premiere Pro is also giving off a weird glitch

Hello Adobe Community, Recently, I updated After Effects from Version 24.1 to 24.3. Now After Effects crashes any time I try to use Cinema 4D (a .c4d file). If I try to import a .c4d file, AE will crash. If I try to open a project with a .c4d file already in it, it will crash. I have some AE compositions dynamically linked in my Premiere Pro sequence. Premiere Pro is unable to export because of this, too. I tried rolling back After Effects and Premiere Pro to 24.1, but the problem is still here. Updating After Effects to 24.4 made no difference, either. I can open the Cinema 4D file perfectly fine within Cinema 4D. Adobe Support was able to open my After Effects project without a problem. So it's something strange on my computer. So far, none of these work:-Uninstall and reinstall the apps-Removing 3rd party plug-ins (it's a Cinema 4D issue anyway)-Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (and reintall)-Give all Adobe folders and app full disk permissions OS Details:-Edition Wi

Hi l am running AE 2017.2 and AME 2017.1.2 on a PC and for some reason the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+M to start up AME and add a composition to AME render queue has stop working. The weird thing is that the command from "Composition" drop down menu in AE works but just not the shortcut. It does not make any difference if AME is already running, and l have uninstalled and reinstalled both AE and AME with no success in fixing the problem. I have never altered the Adobe After Effects 14.2 Win en_US Shortcuts.txt  file so l am not sure what other options there are to look into fixing this issue.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I want to apply this expression but also want them all to blink individually.  I dnt want to copy paste the layers. I want them all to stay under one Layer as 'Contents' but also want them all to blink individually not all simualtaneously like happening in my animation. Please guide me. Is there any way I can do this with any expression? 

Hi everyone, All of a sudden my text / layers are not previewing / showing up in the Composition / Preview Playback screen. These layers all worked and showed up fine in a previosuly saved version of the same project. Other layers in this project are still showing up fine. Music is fine.... it is simply all the text layers are now not showing up.  I have attached a screen capture showing the previous version in which the text sowed up and the newer file where the text is not showing up. I'm on a new Macbook Pro 16, running 10.15.3After Effetcs 2020 Thanks so much. Very much approeciate any feedback. I am new to AE, searched and searched but coiuld not find anything on this. 

I would like to apply a blur effect to low contrast areas of the image, but not to high contrast areas (edges) of the image? How to go about doing this?I have been playing around with "Find Edges" but don't know how to go about this. 

Hey all!So I'm having trouble with the color on export from AE. I shot a test HDR video from my iPhone 15 Pro, and imported both into Premiere Pro and After Effects. Did nothing to adjust either, and exported using a preset I created (screenshot below). The AE file was exported through Media Encoder to ensure the same preset as the PR file.The result of the image is dramatically different, and I'm just not sure if there's another setting I should be changing in AE to get the same image result as Premiere Pro? Played with all kinds of things, but can't seem to get it right. Any advice is appreciated!End result clearly shows HDR through Pr, but not through Ae. Color portion of my preset:

Sample video I'm experiencing issues with the preview in After Effects. When I move along the timeline, I notice flickering in what would be the render viewer. However, when I play the project and let it run for the assigned time on the timeline, it displays normally.This problem started on Friday, 01/16/2025. AE 2025Windows Hello, I experienced a few issues while creating an animation. Expressions wouldn’t work, animation I created disappeared on 4 occasions and had to be created again. Once I finally completed a task that should have taken my 4 hours, but was all day, I am not able to render in either Media Encoder of the Render Que in AE 2024 won't open the file. I see nothing on the forum, bit Co-Plot let me know that there are issues. I thought it was my laptop. all my drives are up to date, and I regularly clear cache.  Do we know if these issues will be fixed? I am thinking of starting over in AE 2024, which makes me want to cry.   Dawn

hey, I need help with a very weird problem. I have attached a screen recording to show the problem as clearly as possible.So I have a composition ‘10PC vierkanten2’ whose trasform settings I adjust in the composition ‘S5 vierkanten’. When I put the composition ‘S5 vierkanten’ in the composition ‘2a’, sometimes the settings don't come through depending on which layer the composition is on.Should anyone see or know how this comes about, please let me know.
