Since I updated to AE CC 2018, I'm no longer able to render or prerender small files.After Effects will start out with the render process and overtime my RAM usage will go up until it hits 90% (Starts at 14%).At 90% AE will tell me that it's out of memory and after what feels like a thousand error messages it will tell me to shut down the program to prevent information loss.I can't work with this program in any way anymore, it worked way better AND faster on my old PC with only 8GB of RAM....Specs: Ryzen 1700x; Radeon RX Vega 64; 32GB RAM; And it's painfully slow..

Hello! So for some reason when I have any project open it won't allow me to click on certain things. For example, when i try to fit the composition into the screen, it will show for a quick second and then will suddenly go away. It does this with other things as well and I've shut down my computer and tried fixing it as best as i can, is there anything i can do. Please reach out soon!!

I have a 30 fps video I want to export as a JPEG sequence, but I only want to export every 50th frame of the video. Do I have to do that manually, or is there a way to do that in a single render batch?Thanks!

Hi,I've got a Text layer which is taking it's value from another layer "Rate" - first line of the code. I want to be able to kern the characters of this individually (using sliders) but when I add in the code (lines 2 onwards), it no longer takes the "Rate" value but reverts to the original valueI'm not sure why it is happening. I am working on creating an animated logo in After Effects using an Illustrator file. The file has been broken into several layers and needs to be animated seperatly. The only problem is that after animating all the layers that build the logo, there are lines in between each part of the logo. This is not visible in Illustrator and I have imported the file to After effects via File > Import > File Import Kind: Composition – Layer Size. This import made the lines slightly less visible but the problem still remains. I want to know how to solve this issue but still animate using layers. Thanks!   

Hello. I am working on a MacBook Pro. I downloaded this logo reveal project: https://motionarray.com/after-effects-templates/free-logo-reveals-20928/?subcategories=freeI am using version 1.  The logo and text are too small for what I am trying to work with. I have no idea how to enlarge the whole comp. The logo is getting cut off when I enlarge it. I am building a video in Premiere and I imported this logo reveal as an mp4 (H.64) because it would not let me import the comp from AE. The reveal looks pixelated. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on these sorts of things. This one seems tricky to me. 

I am new to the rotoscope tool and I am finding such a simple tool extremely frustrating. I had a framerate mismatch error but resolved it so my composition is in the proper framerate, but this had quite literally zero positive effect whatsoever. My issue is that when I apply my rotoscope, nothing happens until the next frame. This makes rotoscoping extremely difficult because I need to adjust, move to the next frame to check, then go back a frame to adjust, move to the next frame to check, and so on until it is perfect. Here are the steps I am making after importing my footage into after effects from premiere pro using "Replace with after effects composition". Step 1:Double click my layer and then click on the rotoscope tool. I then rotoscope my character but instead of properly rotoscoping, it just puts a pink box around the entire frame and does not change no matter what.Then if I move forward a few frames, it actually takes effect.But on this frame if I add more stro

HiI am making a CEP panel. The panel is part of a multi-panel setup. Multiple panels talk to each other via extendscript.My problem is that panel A is giving panel B a command. Panel B receives this command and should change the UI. So I need panel B to tell the CEP HTML UI what to do. This will not be triggered by a user action in panel B.My other communication goes through CSInterface.evalScript with a callback. But I can't use that in this case.So in other words I need to send a command from JSX to HTML without the user first clicking any UI buttons or anything.Is there a way to do this?Thanks,JakobEDIT: This seems to be what I need, but I don't know how to make that work for AE. With the 25v update, I can no longer replace a layer by holding Alt/Option and dragging it from Poject Pannel.

Everytime I try to add font to After Effects after the 2025 update - it crashes and I get this error message.  I googled looking for solutions, attempted to find the 'AdobeFnt' to delete like instructions said but didn't show up in any locations and couldn't find anywhere. Have deleted all downloaded fonts.  Trying to finish a job for a client as is impossible as I can't add text - any help would be hugely appreciated.  Thanks 

I've become fascinated with the history of visual effects and this is my third video looking at how VFX worked before computers.   When I made my video exploring Optical Printers and how they could be used to remove blue from a scene, I was left wondering how did film know which colour was which? And if someone is wearing blue, like Christopher Reeve as Superman (1978) how was he able to be keyed into flying shots. And then I started to question how live analogue TV was able to "remove the blue" for weather forecasts and original Doctor Who. Join me down the rabbit hole of colour film (or color film) Technicolor, Eastman Kodak's Kodachrome and Eastman Color. We'll take a diversion to look at colour analogue telly and CSO (colour separation overlay). Once we're back on track, we'll learn about Petro Vlahos, Didymiun prisms and the Sodium Vapour process. Hello, Everything works wrong since the last update. Before, a 12-15min video took about 30-35min to export and now look at that times (4h). I have not touched anything in the settings, I have not modified any parameter, I have not installed or uninstalled any plugin. I've been working the same way for months but now it's impossible for me to work smoothly with those export times. Not to mention the continuous crashes. Once even the PC restarted by itself 😂 I leave some screenshots in case someone could help me. Please, we need a solution. Thank you.

I'm creating a 1920x360 video, where the right half is composed of 4 compositions I need to rotate 90 degrees, pause for 5-8s, then rotate 90 degrees, pause, etc.. and it just needs to loop.I've set the 4 compositions as 3D objects, set their positions and rotations to create a 4 sided box essentially. I parented them to a NULL object, then set the key frames along the X rotation. If I grab the scrubber or play the video, I'm getting the desired effect. Problem is... it doesn't stop. It just keeps spinning. I just need to time it: Rotate 90 degrees, stop for 5 seconds, rotate for 90 degrees, stop for 5 seconds...I've looked through the forum, expression libraries, YouTube... I can't find a solution. I've tried keyframing it, but the effect started breaking down because I'm ham fisted. Just looking for a simple script that does this effect.

Am trying to import PNG files to after effect but i get the massage "A file could not be found."i click Mommand + I and navigate to the file location and clikc OK then i gut the massagethe file is PNG file RGB and 8 Bitsi tryed other files some of them worked and the other did notcan someone help me please  

I have hundreds of .aep files that I need to obtain the project bit depth of (8, 16, or 32 bit). I can't really find a good way to do this other than open up the file, use a .jsx script to write the bit depth to a file, then close after effects, and repeat for each project file. This is terribly slow, and is very error prone because it won't work properly if for whatever reason a dialog box appears (such as missing media) when attempting to open the project file. Is there any way to parse the binary format of the .aep file to get the project bit depth instead? This is what I'm currently using, if you're interested, but it's really janky and subject to the possible errors I mentioned above. Bonjour, j'ai un problème sur AE depuis plusieurs jours que je n'arrive pas à résoudre.Lorsque je séléctionne mes points clés et que je rentre dans l'éditeur graphique, aucun graphique ne s'affiche et un message apparait en me disant que "Aucune des propriétés sélectionnées n'a d'expression" (Cf : photo ci dessus).  Si quelqu'un peu m'aider, je serais vraiment réconnaissante car ce problème perdure et je n'arrive pas à le résoudre. Merci d'avance 

I am trying to create my own pseudo effect (through PresetEffects.xml). The group properties are collapsed by default (like the 'Point2' and 'Point3' groups shown in the image). Can I set it to expanded by default (like the 'Point1' group shown in the image)? Thank you.

I made a simple animation in AE with curves, which have position (and it could have other parameters such as position and scale) if i select the keyframes, and press Ctrl + C and then i press Ctrl + V on a supported text app, it copies the information such as this: Adobe After Effects 9.0 Keyframe Data Units Per Second 30Source Width 4320Source Height 4320Source Pixel Aspect Ratio 1Comp Pixel Aspect Ratio 1 LayerTransform PositionFrame X pixels Y pixels Z pixels 0 865 3615 0 20 3340 525 0  End of Keyframe Data But as you can see, there isnt any 'information' about the curve itself, or is it?What i want is to have enough information about the curve (complex or not) in order to be able to perfectly replicate it in more softwares, such as 3D ones like Blender.Is there any way to export this information in a way more complex way just than coordinates? Thanks in regards.Sebastián.

I've created a square as a shape / shape layer. I want to know the size of it. I see the info panel has x & y info - but not width / height. Where do i find the width & height of a shape I've drawn? Many thanks - btw cs 5.5
