HI So I have a fractal noise effect, I alt-clicked the evolution stopwatch and typed the expression 'time*300'. The speed of the aniamtion is fine, but the time length of the animation is too short. What should the expression be to extend the time-length of the evolution animation, maybe make it infinite?Hope that made sense.  Cheers

Estou tentando importar dois arquivos no after, um no formato after effects e outro no formato illustrator, mas ao inves de aparecer a caixa de diálogo que pergunta o tipo de importação, ele vem com uma janela escrito "Aviso do After Effects: Faltam 8 arquivos desde a última vez que este projeto foi salvo." Quando clico em "OK" ele importa os arquivos só que meio que corrompidos, quando clico duas vezes em uma composição que deveria mostrar as layers do .ai não aparece nada. Será que tem alguém que saiba a solução?

Hi Adobe-guys, I work full time as an editor and motion designer for German TV and have done so from 2 seperate machines for 1,5 years, now: my new workstation in my own flat and my old workstation in the flat of my girlfriend 200km away. My old workstation runs on outdated components, at least from the POV of AE/PR/AD 24, but still works like a charm on AE/PR/AD 23. Now to keep it healthy I wanted to reset my OS and reinstall those older versions, but to my shock Adobe does not offer them anymore, not even as downloadable installation files. I gotta say as a very good customer of Adobe products through my several employees and clients, I find this just inacceptable and will surely mention this next time I walk into some of your people on events, but I really need to resolve this problem RIGHT NOW and don't see any room for excuses on this from your side, tbh. Downward availability should never be optional, especially with a time windows of just 1,5 years. I hope you can fix this

have a lot of after effects plugins that work only on intel chip. cant upgrade plugins. just got a new mac with an m4 chip. adobe has stopped emulating rosetta since ae 2024. if theres some way to further downgrade ae that would be great. or forcing ae to emulate rosetta. looking around the forum i dont think theres much hope though. if i could get access to ae 2023 i think that would solve the issue 💔

Hey, meine Ankerpunkte werden seit dem letzten Absturz von After Effects nicht mehr angezeigt (egal welche Ebene ausgewählt ist). Sonst funktioniert alles.Strg + H habe ich schon probiert. Hat jemand andere Ideen?Liebe Grüße 

Simple as that.  Sell it to a company willing to do what it takes to make AE a reliable piece of software,  and will implement the basic functionality requests people have been making for over a decade.  In the meantime Adobe can go and buy another piece of software and make that gradually worse. 

Hello all,  I can't seem to be able to click anything in AE interface, as if there is a pop-up window preventing me to do so. I can use shortcuts and use the very top toolbar (file, edit, etc.). If I select "Quit" it won't close the program and I will have to force quit.  If I click on "show all windows" it will show just one window, the one with the main interface.  This is happening only with a specific project, if I open another one, I can navigate and use the interface with no problems.  I'm on an iMac 27/inch, Late 2013 with 10.15.5 OSx

This strange thing has started to happen in After Efftects 24 and 25. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both and cleared my preferences to no avail. I will try to explain but I have also recorded my screen to give an example.  In the 300x250 composition, you can see that I have the select tool selected. When I scroll over the content with no layers selected, instead of a curser icon, I have a weird looking crosshair. It won't let me select anything and when I try to drag the mouse, it creates what looks like a mask. The mask covers the entire composition, not just one layer. I toggle over to the 300x600 composition because it doesn't have that happen and I made no changes. I hit no shortcuts. It seems to be happening randomly and I can't figure out how to make it stop. It is disrupting my ability to use the select tool in certain ways.  Has anyone else had this experience?

I just downloaded the new version of AE.2 issues...1. It wiped out my Saved Workspace. Is there any way to Export/Import to migrate workspaces from version to version2. I was able to dock it in the previous version I was able to dock panel from File/Scripts into my Workspace.In this version, it won't dock.On a IMacRunning Mojave

Greetings, Our department has an Adobe Stock subscription and I've beeing importing our own 3D models into AE for a variety of projects. When I purchase 3D Lights / EXR / IBL files from Adobe Stock, After Effects doesn't quite recognize them as they would an HDR file with the Environment Light. What's the best way to use these kind of files in my 3D workflow? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have been using Keysmith for years without any problems. But since I updated to 2025, the UI of the script has been cut off. So I can't really use the script because the play/apply button has been cut off. Is there a solution for this? Thanks. 

Issue: After Effects doesn’t create a complete/accurate report when collecting (or generating) in regards to fonts. The issue is that DRM’d fonts being used via the Monotype Desktop App/service don’t get generated/listed in the report. OR if they are installed in a user folder. They only seem to get listed/generated if installed in the \WINDOWS\Fonts folder.This issue has been tested in AE v23.5 & v22.65, but I imagine it’s not version dependent. OS Tested: Windows 10 22H2Hardware: AMD 3970x, 256GB Ram, 2x 2080ti GPUsSteps to Reproduce: Collect project and/or generate report only.Expected Result: TXT file with full list of fonts used in project.Actual Result: TXT file with partial and/or empty list of fonts used in project. Attached is a zip file with the AEP made in AE v23.5 with a mix of locally installed fonts, and Monotype synced fonts. I just opened AE Beta Bld 24 and am editing text. My type tool is so big I can't isolate single lines of text w/o locking those surrounding it. Is this a bug or another "new feature" we don't need and have to go into preferences to put back the way it's always been? When I screen shot the cursor dissapears - can't show it but it's about four times it's normal size. Looks enlarged/pixelated. Anyone?Thanks in advance.

I'm a complete beginner to After Effects (just downloaded it) and I'm importing one of my Premiere Pro projects to After Effects as I've heard face tracking is better and easier. It's currently showing my subtitles and video crop effects in the wrong spots to how it is in Premiere. I can see the text from the original video (that I cropped over in PP for mine). Both apps are fully updated to 2025. Did I do something wrong or is this normal behaviour? Again, completely new to After Effects, don't know much about it.

Hello, My After Effects 2020 project is extremely slow and I want to know how to fix it. It consists of 9 comps (about 12 seconds each) each containing 10 to 20 shape layers and 5 to 10 text layers with trim paths and opacity animations on each. That's litterally it. Then the 9 comps are put together in a sequence. It's so laggy that I have to work in quarter resolution and preview (I also skip frames in the preview) for it to work fine, and even then, I wait 5 seconds every time I click somewhere or change the text. It's driving me nuts. I purged the memory and cache, restarted AE (it sorta works but after half an hour or so, it slows down more and more), rebooted my computer. Anyone knows how I can work efficiently with such a project? Thanks in advance!

Hi All,Since I've installed AE 2018, whenever I try to drag-select several points on a path I created from a shape, it automatically selects the closest point/side of the shape and moves it (even when I click outside the selected shape). Does anyone know how can I turn this option off?Thanks!Omer.

Hi,Can anyone please help me with an issue I'm having with an AE video that I loaded to TikTok?  I made the video to TT Spec.  1080 x 1920 (i.e Portrait orientation) and less than the 500MB. When it plays on a phone the image is small on the screen. I've written to TT but no helpful response...just keeps asking me to send the link, which I have several times.I did use 25fps and found out later that 60fps is better but can't imagine that would be the problem.I used media encoder to render. Hello.After Effects on a colleague's laptop stays with a completely black preview of the composition all the time. I've worked with After Effects for 9 years and I've never encountered this problem before. I tried so many things, but the preview of the composition just stays black. Nothing shows up. The laptop is with the latest version of AE. I also downloaded an older version from the creative cloud, but it's the same problem. When you create a new composition the preview is just black and whatever you place inside the composition it remains black.After Effects worked fine the previous week, but he said after the weekend this problem occurred. I tried so many things I found by googling the problem, but nothing works so far. Any idea what the heck is going on?Thank you in advance.

Body:Hello,I’m having trouble visualizing 3D objects that I export from Blender in formats like .glb, .obj, or even those available on Adobe Stock. All I can see are the coordinates and a box indicating where the object should be, but the model itself isn’t visible.I’ve searched through various forums but haven’t found a clear solution. Can someone help? I’m totally lost. The effect don’t work, after watching numerous tutorials and googling for hours, I can’t get this to work AT ALL. Whether I apply the effect directly to the empty composition or directly to the text layer in the comp, adjusting the effect simply won’t work. When I try to connect the shape and the text at the dropdown in the effect setting directing it to the according text layer - nothing happens. They don’t connect - so I can’t design text and shape together. I can’t change positions, can’t scale, change colours, strokes. The newly created form simply doesn’t move at all. It stays just one individual shape and one individual text, no chance of getting them to work together. Its SUPERFRUSTRATING!! HELP!

I accidentally named a file the same as another file, and now it replaced the previous file. It was an untitled project before, but then I created a new project and named it the same. Now I can't find the previous project. Is there any way to fix this?"

I'm new to Adobe After Effects. Are there any tutorials that would help me take filmed footage of a skull in the earth, and add VFX of white mycelium branching over the surface of the soil and over the skull?   It's for an opening sequence of a trailer I'm doing for my Horror Feature, plus it's part of my PhD. So I have a tiny budget to pay a little something for someone who wants to do the VFX in return for a screen credit and something very cool for their portfolio!   But if not, then I need to learn to do it myself, so any suggestions of which tutorials I should focus on, would be amazing, thank you!   Suzy Miller Personal info removed by Mod.
