So the documentation is a bit loose for this process. I have windows, substance, GPU drivers up to date. I allowed for unknown app to run, the refresh was already up, I have the program through adobe creative cloud. I can see the app in my app listing through airlink, I can select it, I even hear a noise like it is loading after it pops up. On my PC the program is not running, I select it through airlink, it boots up on my PC so they are talking. All I get is a loading screen though on oculus, never seems to boot. Anyone ever run into this issue?
When I downloaded the file, it was in dimensions. How do I convert or import that file into Substance #D Modeler?
A customer needs a mold of a 3d object I created for them. Is there a way to take the object I already modeled and turn it into essentially a 'negative space' within Adobe Substance 3d Modeler which I can place into a block of substance ultimatey creating the 3d layout for the mold? I would then create the proper breaks and pour holes for them to 3d print.

Before I spend time trying to learn Substance, I'm hoping someone can answer a simple question for me. Is it possible to extract a 2D image from a Photoshop layer stack (e.g., a tree from a landscape), bring it into Substance, convert it to a 3D model, turn or otherwise change the perspective on that image, then return it to the Photoshop layer stack as a now modified 2D image?
I want to be able to open a file and or search for a recently worked on file while in VR.As when I switch to desktop mode the app crashes or stops responding once changed.

Hello,I'm seeking advice for troubleshooting an issue with Adobe Substance 3D Modeler. I was able to install the program with no issue, but any time I try to open it, I receive an error that reads "Profile unavailable" and the program immediately quits. See the image below for an example: Device specifications:Windows 10 64-bit | Version: 22H2Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHzRAM: 16 GBThe Substance software was just installed today so is up to date (version 1.3.0). Any information on what this error means and how I could further troubleshoot this? Thank you!
I was a bit surprised that Modeler is Windows only at this time. My old PC has insufficient RAM (just half the minimun) to run Modeler. So...Can I run Modeler (desktop only - no VR) under Parallels 18 on either an Intel Mac or M1 Mac each with 16 GB of RAM? I recently started trying the Substance Suite of apps to see if they would provide a nicely integrated system that would allow me to create or modify 3D models, do texturing, and then get niclely lit renders for use in Photoshop composites. So far my experince with going from Painter to Stager is fine except it doesn't work in the other direction. The only reasons I have for using Modeler would be the smooth integration into a system or if it had really useful features in the desktop version.Thanks for any insight on this.
How can Substance 3D Modeler's features be effectively utilized to enhance the visual content on (removed) a client website focused on social media informational and research content, while ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration with existing technologies? I am looking to do some creative work for my client?
Is it possible to run Substance 3D Modeler on macOS using Parallels? If not, do any of the other apps in the collection allow you to build models on macOS? I could not get any sense out of support on this. Some of the documents use "model" for Designer, for example; others exclude that term!
Hello, I tried to use Md with my HUION Kamvas 16 but it does not work. the first klick with the pen is recogniced but after that nothing is working anymore. Painting in an other software works fine, so my setup should not be the issue. One of the scary things in Modeler, is that once you click "apply" or the "spacebar" you cannot go back and do any real edits on a shape. You really must know what you want to do before you commit those changes. This may really deter many from using this program. One mistake and 20 minutes of work can go down the drain. So many things missing from this program I've come to realize, and I realize now this is perhaps why so many are just using Blender which is 100% free. I will continue to have faith in Adobe, but there is just zero activity on this forum, and this shows lack of interest from those who have tried 3D Modeler. I've posted a bunch of questions, and no answers, not even from Adobe employees themselves, which is really discouraging. I get this sinking feeling that Adobe is going to stop updates on parts of the 3D Substance lineup for some reason....
Hello, my coworkers and I are still very new to these programs and so we are learning how to incorporate it into our work to create products. We have the entire substance package and used Modeler to create a model with separate layers and then imported it into Painter in hopes the individual layers would be UV wrapped and identified but they did not. I also saw we can make material id maps for the separate layers as well but have not seen how to do so in Modeler. Does anyone know what we can do?
If you are working on a model, and accidently EXIT / CLOSE the program without SAVING your project,Modeler does NOT ask "Do you wish to save changes ? " or something to that effect, and will just 100% close. You are not alerted you didn't save your current project. *****This should be fixed. #2 - PLEASE add the option to "OPEN RECENT FILE" - that present this does not exist,as it does in all other Adobe programs. Thank you.
Is there a way to increase the resolution of the stamps created from sculpted layers? I need more fidelity in the resulting stamps, even at the cost of performance. Thank you.Anders
It's annoying sometime when I try to model something like an 80's boom box, the camera just look away when I scale the 3D cassette tape. Is there a way to reset a camera back to like when the program just started? Or how to make a camera focus on the model if it look away?
SEE ATTACHED PHOTO FOR COMPARISONS*** ----> So I've been testing EXPORTS from Adobe 3D Modeler.I exported a simple combo of squares, round objects and exported them from Substance Modeleras an .OBJ file. I bring them into Stager, and no matter what I do, the object look so so bad. The lighting is bad, the material applied is bad. So I remember watching somebody export a .FBX format from Modeler.... so I try thatand BINGO.... the surface of the object in Stager is amazing.... the materials look so good too !........ so what is the problem ? .... is .OBJ a bad way to export from Modeler ?and... WHY doesn't Adobe have a video on exporting different formats and WHICH format is the bestfor exports from Modeler into Stager ? .... Adobe really needs wake up on little things like this.So much wasted time trying to figure out things that they ( paid employees ) should be on and addressing in ways of education via website, or YouTube tutorials.
I created a simple 3D object in Illustrator, and then imported that .objinto Adobe 3D Modeler. I then created a simple cylinder in Modeler and tried tocut a piece out of that 3D model from Illustrator. Doing so stops Modeler from doing anything,there is NO error message, no repsonse of any kind. Trying to cut the 3D model out with the cylinderdoesn't work. Seeing this model was created in an Adobe product, one would think this would work.It doesn't. P.S. - where's the layers panel in 3D Modeler ? .... nowhere to be found. If you can create a "new layer" why can't I find the layers panel ? - posted this yesterday, where are the Adobe staff ? Looks like nobody monitors this forum. Is Modeler being discontinued ? I hope not.

I can't switch between desktop mode and VR mode in 3dmodeler and I can't use VR mode at the moment.I am logged into desktop Oculus and connected to the Vr headset with cable, but when I open 3D Modeler nothing happens in my VR. The problem occurs with my new quest2, my last quest works fine.And the Md app icon does not appear in my oculus-library. Other software such as Adobe Medium is there. Is there a way to set this up and how can I fix it?
Substance modeler tutorial says it shoud swtich to vr mode automaticllynwhen you put the head set up. Howerver thats not working i have oculus, oculus cable, and headsets connected but when i put it on still only see the desktop vire throught the vr bot seeing the vr modeling format any help?
Modeler won't open. I have installed and uninstalled it serval times, but whenever I click on the program, all I get is a white screen, and then it force quits. My computer is up to date and should have the capacity to run the program. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I have a subscription to the Substance apps and was able to download all of them except Modeler. That one is not showing up in the available apps list. Is this becasue I am on a Mac? Or is there something else I need to do to download it.
