Are there any free alternatives to Camera Raw?I'm using Adobe Bridge and for some reason, Camera Raw used to work, but now it's not. Is there any free software that does exactly what Camera Raw does, including updating the adobe bridge file directly and indicating that the file has been edited?

I'm totally new to all of this and I'm having an issue trying to find Camera Raw as well and it seems like it would be part of the Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud Suite as well. It doesn't seem to exist in my App Store.

Hi,I have just returned home after three weeks away. Camera RAW had an update available and I downloaded it as I normally do when Creative Cloud suggests an update to an app. Now, I am having a lot of errors when saving my CR2 files to high res JPG through Camera RAW. I have shut the computer down and restarted, but am still having the same issue. Thanks.

Is there a preference or way to turn off "Show Overlay (auto)" for masking? I find the visible mask only helpful when touching up a mask, so manually toggling off the visiblity is an extra step for every single RAW file I edit.The only thing close to that I see is clikcing the three dots to the right of it and turning the brightness all the way down, but I'm not sure if that is leaving a visible mask area preview with darkness that will mess with my editing. Thanks.

I am trying to firgure out why 15.1 camera raw editor has become basically unusable. When I load a large number (200-400) of images to edit all I see are grey boxes with yellow triangles. I honeslty cant belive I pay for this garbage.   Things I have tried -> Purged caches, loading smaller amount of images, reseting camera raw settings and so on. I have tried all the "solved" silutinons suggested in these forums. The reason why this is so annoying is because I am on a brand new computer too. There are no more reason for this program to perfomr so poorly.   Also if anyone has other non adobe photos editing programs please suggest them as I would love to not have to pay for this junk.

I have moved mulitple folders that contain XMP files to the preset folder on Bridge, to the settings folder on Camera Raw, even using multiple years verisons of bridge without any luck of getting Camera raw to let me import them, see them or use them. I typically do not use lightroom but I did try to see if the folders would upload there- they did- instantly so i know the files work, I just can not get ACR to show them, import them or use them. Help please.  Thank you,Crystal 

Photoshop v20.0.07 & v 21.0.1macOS 10.14.6 I'm editing using the Camera Raw filter on a smart object, and after switching to another application and then coming back to Photoshop, I can no longer use Photoshop and must force quit without saving. It looks like a problem with misplaced focus, whereas normally the Camera Raw filter dialog would be in focus/in front and usable, instead the progress bar dialog for the Camera Raw filter is in front. Clicking the cancel button on this progress bar dialog does nothing (makes the OS error sound), most actions in the Camera Raw dialog dont work as everything is greyed out and this window does not have focus — I can only click and drag to zoom, or click and drag the histogram. I cannot click anything in the Photoshop application window either. This priginally happened  in v21 so I switched to v20 but now it has happened there too.

Hi, I can sure use some HELP. With this new version of Camera Row 15.1 I'm unable to open multiple images, if I try to open multiple images only one image appears. I can edit the one image than another image will appear. Can someone help me.Thank you

Hi,I've just updated to Camera Raw 12.2, it's reset all my default settings (bit annoying).Does anyone know how to save the settings now... The menu seems to have lost the "Save New Camera Raw Defaults" option?

Hello, I want to improve a jpg image. The picture is to be a 5 m poster. I've heard that goes with Camera raw. There is probably the function "improve" or "super resolution" in camera raw. However, I do not find this anywhere.I hope you can help me. I have now updated Photoshop to the latest version:Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.1.0 20221206.r.166 be4691b x64Inside i choose camera raw filter  In Camera raw 15.1. i can't find the function: What is wrong or where can i find it!? Thank you very much Kristina 

Seen a number of old posts on this issue (2020 and previous) with broken links to "solutions."Everytime I open a new RAW file some default settings are applied in the options I did not choose.I change the settings to what I want or zero everything outClick the three dots on the right side for "More Settings"Click "Set Raw Defaults" and Save but when opening a new image it still applies the old, mystery defaults I don't want. Super frustrating and time consuming.Thanks for the answer.

Hi, I am unable to use Camera Raw 15.1 after updating to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop (24.1). The Adobe Photshop crashs when I try to open a raw file. The older version of Camera Raw 14.5 works fine. I tried reinstalling Adobe Photoshop and Camera Raw, but that didn't help. An tips to make Camera Raw 15.1 working, very welcome. I am using Windows 11 home, version 22H2. Thank you for your help in advance.

When I updated my apps the Color Profile for the Canon R6 is now gone from Camera Raw. I still have it in Lightroom.  Did adobe take it away. Is it just me ?  

I have a Canon R5 camera and I shoot only Raw files, but when I downloaded the files using Bridge Photo Downloader, all files are downloaded as JPEG. Any suggestion?

I don't have the option to update to the latest versions (24.1 and 15.1 respectively).The CC app says all applications are up to date. I tried uninstalling, logging off, and all the other usual steps. Can't update from version 24.0 and 15.0 respectively. Please help! Thanks.

Cada vez que intento abrir el editor de camera RAW se queda PHOTOSHOP  bloqueado y nunca se abre el camera RAW . Es como si se iniciase el proceso pero nunca se llega a visualizar la ventana de editor RAW 

Hi All, Latest version of Photoshop / Mac Intel version I upload-dropped preset XMP files into ACR 15.10.1329 and Corresponding Lightroom. Stepps I followed was Libray-Application Support-Adobe-Camera Raw-SettingsI have sellected here presets in screenshot that I am not able to see in Acr.  Now I tried to upload these presets via ACR itself by clicling on 3 dots and choosing Load Settings, it allows me only to choose one preset at the time from the preset stack, that preset applies itself onto the image, but the preset is still not showing in the preset panel. Does someone knows how to fix this problem please? Thank you.  

IDEA :: heal/clone/remove brushes - retain opacity setting between ACR sessions ...Just like they retain the size setting and ( 2 out of 3 retain the feather setting )PS: and why in the world "Content-Aware Remove" does not have a feather option ? I think it deserve to have it - just LIKE two other brushes !

I just installed Camera RAW 15.1. For Real Estate photography I always using HDR of 3 shots 2 steps.With al versions I had no problems, but with 15.1, the latest, the merged image has very flat colors.I installed version 14.5 and that works normal. I'm starting to get tired of the problems after updates. I've been working with photoshop for 30 years but I'm kind of done with it.

I have an older Macbook Pro running OS 10.14.6 Mojave, which I understand is not optimal. I have limited hard drive space left, so I know that is a problem too. Creative Cloud tries to perform auto-updates on my apps and slows/freezes my computer for hours at random times of the day or night. I have just uninstalled all the apps except Adobe Acrobat and Camera Raw. I want to remove Camera Raw, but there is no option except to update it. The other apps had an "unistall" option, not Camera Raw. Today, CR auto-update has cost me hours; now finally it is showing "Updated," but no options such as uninstall, etc. I've had to reboot several times because of this in the last few days. I need to turn off CR auto-update and/or uninstall CR completely. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
