Hi there,I checked a few discussions but could not get it to work..I want to get the LMS Student name with JS in Captivate 2017. I manage to get the name in a Developer console with this lineAPI.LMSGetValue('cmi.core.student_name');But not in a Captivate project.Thanks in advance for the ideasBobby

Hi!I'm using Captivate 8 and I tried to create a drag and drop interaction with inserted images grouped with text captions.But when creating it in the wizard it seems I can't choose the whole group as one drag object. So in preview when I drag the image, the text caption doesn't follow. How do I fix this issue or is it even possible to drag grouped objects in CP8?Thanks in advance for help!

I'm a space operations instructor at the Space Education and Training Center at Peterson AFB, CO.  I was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, I am not authorized to enter the building because of my suppressed immune system.  I am now creating distance learning content from home.  I downloaded the 30 Day free trial and have been corresponding with the Adobe Captivate 2019 sales team to request the $399 educator discount for the software.  I just received a message stating military schools are not eligible for the student and teacher edition.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a person I could contact to request an exception to this policy.  I desire to use Captivate to create content for my students and will pay for the software out of my own pocket.  If college students can use the software at the reduced price, why can I, as an instructor, not use the software at the reduced price?  Any insight would be very

So here's my situation: We have about a dozen training modules, but which modules you have to take vary depending on each employee's department and position. For example Employee 451 has to take modules 1, 3, and 7, Employee 888 has to take modules 1, 4, and 11, etc.   What my bosses want is for anyone to be able to sit down and click their department and position, which would then automatically serve them the correct modules. Ideally there would also be a menu of which modules they've completed, saved off to a SCORM database, so people wouldn't have to complete everything in a single session.   So far we've only gotten as far as realizing that this will require merging every module into a single mega-project. What do you all think would be the best approach to implementing this type of navigation in Captivate?   Thanks.

Scorm package created having a mp4 video only,  which works on android devices, laptop, desktop without any issue but nit on ios devices.On ios devices the scorm window gets open but th video in it does not loaded or do not play.

When using the playbar from Captivate's skin can you delay when the forward arrow goes live until after the narration is complete?  We don't want to put a different playbar within the slide area.Thank you,Susan

After I create a slide presentation course in Captivate, I publish the course using HTML/SWF and send the zip file to our LMS vendor to upload.  Right now, they are using the HTML5 file only.  I would like users to be able to pick up the slide presentation course where they left off.  The LMC can remember to resume the user to the page that holds the slide presentation but it will resume to the beginning and not on the actual slide.  Is there a way to set it up inside captivate before exporting that allow a user to resume to the actual slide?

HalloI'm using Captivate 9 with bookmark. When popup appears, Ok and Cancel do the same action, they bring me where I stopped (the last slide view). Maybe should I set anything different?Thanks for your help 

Due to the COVID pandemic, I am forced to rely on video to be interctive with my students. I have a rather lenghty video of a healthcare procedure and seemed to have things working well until I preview in HTML5.As I progressed and added about 6 (out of 12) bookmarks - along with my knowledge check questions, the development has become a bit clunky. When I preview my work, the first two knowledge checks (most often) perform as intended. Sometimes I might get three to work and then I get a buffering overlay while the video plays and no other knowledge checks display at the key moment (loss of sync happens quickly). It appears to me to be a sync issue. I'm just asking if anything can be done to improve performance? Is there a way to "preload" things to reduce buffering or should I look for another solution?Thanks in advance for any assistance.

First, can I change paragraph spacing in Captivate 8? Not line spacing, but paragraph spacing. For example, 6pt space after a paragraph like you can do in MS-Word.Second, does Captivate 8 allow me to define text styles? I know I can set styles for entire objects such as Captions, but can I define a style (such as MyTitle = Verdana 18pt bold or MyBody = 11pt Verdana plain or MyEmphasis = 11pt Verdana italic red) and then apply that to some text I select within a caption object?

Hi-I'm working in PowerPoint for Mac. version 15.31. Part of the Office 365 Suite. When I try to import the presentation in to Captivate 9, I get an error message that suggest that the file may be damaged or the version of PowerPoint may be too old.  The version that I'm using appears to be the most recent and I can't see where the file is damaged. Any suggestion for how to rectify this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance. Dafilms

Hello!I created a short VR project in Captivate 2019. I can see what I created in the source slides. However, I cannot use preview or publish to see what I created either by VR device or desktop? Any clues will be appreciated. thanks a ton!  

HI Folks,I'm using a smart graphic as a button.  The stuent will click on the button to open a URL.  I have the states already created. My problem is that I want to show it as visited without the student having to move the mouse over the graphic. Is there a way to do that?  Or should I be using a differnt object for this purpose? Thanks,Carl

Hi - We recently upgraded to Captivate 2019 to update some old video content. Our Fortify On-Demand (FOD) security scan has flagged two files with High and Critical security flaws. I have imported a PPTX into Captivate project (1920x1080).The PowerPoint slides are Design -> Slide Size -> Wide Screen (16:9).On CPTX slide, the PowerPoint slide appears to be cut off and I see a vertical grey bar on the right side of each slide: PPTX slide example: Captivate: The CPTX needs to be 1920x1080.Any suggestions on how to adjust the slides or how to import them so that they rescale?

My CPPLauncher doesn't work on Catalina 10.15.4 The system tells me that software needs to be updated to work properly on this MacOS version 

I was using Vimeo to link my interactive videos to, but some (not all) of them were cutting off before the end when playing the SCORM’d module.  So I switched back to my trusty YouTube and the same error is happening.  When I view the project in the HTML viewer they are working fine however, when I SCORM the project and watch it from my LMS the odd film is cutting off.  I am using Captivate 2019, and the project is timed to move on automatically?  

Hi,In my captivate project of only one slide. I  have tried to loop a slide using preference => Project => End -> Loop.The slide includes  "Typing Text Animation".The contents of these "Typing Text Animation" start doubling, tripling and so on after every loop. i.e. "About Project" initially and after first loop "About Project About Project" Is there a way to set "Typing Text Animation" to null at the beginning of the slide to mitigate the impact of the loop?Many thanks  

I have a simple javascript var myVideo = $('video');myVideo[0].playbackRate = 0.5; connected to a button on a video in a multiple slide project with fluid boxeds. The added javascript does indeed work and allow users to slow the video down. However, when a user clicks on show closed captions the closed captions are then off-sync with the video. How can I make it that the closed captions slow down/ speed back up depending on whether a user is playing the video at 0.5x or 1.0x?

Morning All,I have a query, which I cannot find an answer for. I am creating some questions for a Quiz. I then want the quiz to be included into a pool. That is normally simply, but some of the questions are like a simulation where they have to perform certain steps to verify they understand the procedure. They get a point at the end of the simulation. My query is:1) Is it possible to add multiple slides as a single question in a question pool?2) Would this allow when setting up a random test allow, if selected, all the simulation to be taken as 1 question. The person who did the original questions added all the single slide questions into a pool, but left the simulation slides separate so that they always appeared in the quiz. Was wondering if this was possible to combine them. ThanksPhil.

Dear Community,I hope somebody will help me to find a solution  (Captivate 9).I need to automatically pause a project if the user opens a new browser window/program and to resume the project if the user comes back to the course.I guess I need some JS with a blur and focus functions but all the test I'm doing don't work 😞 If somebody know how to do it, I really appreciate your help!
