Hello All,  I am using Captivate 2019 11.5.1.499. I created a responsive project and want to change the background image of one of the slides. The image size is large, but no matter how I try to edit the image, it is always imported at a size of 352x627 and is centered on the back of the slide. this leaves a lot of white space on either side. I have created different versions of the image, but when it is imported, it always reverts to 352x627. I am not using fluid boxes. Any ideas why this is happening?Cheers,Peter

Hi guys,I'm  new to captivate but am an Adobe veteran, so am pretty competent in general with Adobe software. That doesn't make the learning curve feel less steep though!I am creating an interactive video but all the elements on my screen look very pixelated which is making it hard for me to be accurate with placing buttons etc. It is fine when I export so it seems like it's just an issue with display quality. It's similar to Premiere where you can play in 1/2 or 1/4 resolution. I assume there is a pretty simple solution but can't for the life of me find out how to preview at full quality!My project is 1920x1080 and is not responsive.Cheers,D

I am working on a project that requires a pretest that contain 3 sections of questions. The outcome of the pretest will then need to highlight the section(s) of the course that the user needs to attempt based on incorrect responses. So far I am stuck at a point where a user is redirected to the menu page with all the links active and none of them have been highlighted regardless of passing or failing the quiz. I was wondering if anyone can help advise me on how to tackle this or signpost me to a tutorial/discussion that covers this issue.Thanks.

I published a video to youtube but about 5 slides of the content do not display in the middle of the video. The narration is there but not the content but the remainder of the video shows fine. I have reviewed the captivate files and re-published but get the same issue.Any idea the issue?Dee

Hi, Adobe community,Is it me or is there no word search interactivity in Captivate 2019. I've clicked on the interactivity icon in the top bar and then the learning interactions selection. However, there's no word search activity. Is it somewhere else?Any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksDavid

Hello everyone!I have some projects that require the user to agree that they are responsible for the information contained in the learning module. I've accomplished this in the past by requiring both 100% slide views and passing the quiz. Then only giving the option of agreeing or exiting the module with instructions to contact their supervisor. My latest project has to have the option of jumping straight to the quiz so that experienced users can prove their competence without having to review the course information. This stops me from using the 100% slide view requirement. How would some of you handle this?Thank you,Jim

We've been recording software simulations using Captivate since version 5.5, and suddenly with the 11.5 update, most of the mouse actions are not being captured.  We have to press the PrintScreen key for just about every action. Depending on the application, we may hear the shutter sound or we may not.  We do most of our capturing using our own software product that I doubt others in the community are using, so I also tried it in Excel.  I did a whole bunch of actions, and only got one slide.I think we are going to have to roll back to the previous version, unless there is a setting I can change.   I was prompted that I had to set a value in the "AdobeCaptivate.ini" file:  DpiAwareness = 1.  I had to make this change just to do the software simulation capture in the first place.Has anyone else noticed this behavior?  Any ideas for a workaround?

As far as I can see Presenter haven't been updated in two years - and still had flash as technology? Is Presenter still being developed or is it in fact abandoned? Would be nice to know before committing to it for content creation. A

I am creating a tutorial using MS PP.  I uploaded the slides, and for some reason even though I clicked link automatically, they are not linked.  How can I get the slides linked after the PP is already uploaded?Thank you in advance.

Hey all,I've made a 360 VR project in Captivate (latest version). Plays back well with decent internet on my Oculus Go. 4k 360 video that's 7 minutes long with hotspot questions. Great to use in VR mode. But if I try to tether off a 4g mobile hotspot it struggles. Is there any way to enable the video to preload and cache on the device? I don't mind waiting for it to download!Thanks.

Hi. I'm creating a course with the Word Search widget, and I wanted to display a button when user finishes correctly this interaction. Is it possible?

HiI tried to record a software sim and got the DpiAwareness error. Hello.Even basic elements such as text captions look blurry, both within the program and (more importantly) on HTML5 published content.Is there any way to get my text to render with retina quality? The learning interaction "scrolling text" outputs retina-quality text, and I imagine other learning interactions will achieve this also, however I don't want to rely on these just to insert some basic text.Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

HI,This is my first time adding video to a Captivate 2017 course. The video was created in Vyond and I uploaded it with the help of Adobe so the entire 20 min video is on one slide.Now, to turn on closed captioning so users with hearing impairment can read the script, do I need to enter the script (copy and paste from the Word doc) in the Slide Notes section and then fix the timing? Or, has Captivate already embedded the audio (and script) so all I need to do is turn on closed captioning so that the script will display when the course is published? If the latter, how and where do I do that?Thanks.Paul

Using CP 2019: 11.5.0.476 on Windows 10 ProI create a shape on a normal slide --> Shadow and Reflection options are availableI double click the shape and add any text, then step out of text edit and select the shape --> Shadow and Reflection options are NOT availableIt seems the only way I can adjust Shadow and Reflection options after adding text is to go into the State View for the shape.So, I have a workaround, but I've been using CP through many versions and this is a change in behavior, definitely annoying and possibly a bug.

This frustratingly gets even more broken when using images as image buttons.I had to make a change to a few images that are used as 'Image Button'.Update the image in library had NO EFFECT on the image in the button - captivate does not recognise an Image Button as an image - so it looks like each one has to be individually saved as a different name (because using the same name has no effect), brought into the library and then added as the image for the button. This is beyond frustrating.If I am wrong and there is an easy solution for this problem, I would love to hear it.

Hi, just upgraded to Captivate 2017, can't seem to find the option to set a glow effect for objects such as shapes and images. I know there is a glow efect for text but what about objects? Any ideas?

I am using smart shapes as buttons, and naming them accordingly. When I use the screen reader, the focus and order is fine, but all I get on audio is 'tab tab tab', it is not reading the name on the button.  I know that this work previously but now it's not reading.  Help please!Carol Update: This issue has been resolved.

Hi,I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 (11.5.0.476).I published the course (non SCORM) with settings "Self Paced Learning - Checked" and "Never Send Resume Data - Unchecked". When I run the course in Google Chrome locally, the resume feature is not working.Even the resume pop-up is not showing. It starts from beginning every time when I launch it.On the other hand, when I run the same course in Internet Explorer locally, it shows the resume pop-up and works fine, but the layout is very messy. Attached screenshot is for your reference.

Hello all,I am creating a module that requires the user to place information into a Text Entry Box. I can check Validate the Response but can't place a correct answer in the field. Responses would be there name and ID. The action I want the TEB to take is if they select Submit without entering information, I want text to display, stating. "You must enter your name before proceeding" and not allow them to move forward. This is an action I can do on a quiz slide but once answered, a quiz slide can't be changed. They need to be able to review it and change it if necessary. Once an entry is entered into the TEB selecting Submit will take them to the next slide. This is a total of three slides with their First name on one slide, their last name on the next slide, and their ID on the next slide. The slide following allows them to review their information and if it is incorrect, they will select a button that will jump them to the first slide and allow them to change the information. i am trying to use captivate to create  a lesson that teaches kids electronics ( breadboard ,arduino). so i will like to create a drag and drop connection between a battery and arduino or breadboard. i know drag and drop do exist in captivate but how do i make it visually appealing to kids to make it look like they are dragging wires like we see in some electronic diagram software?

Hi all! I am working on a project where I want the user to choose an avatar at the beginning, and have it appear throughout the slides.So far I have created a 'hair' object with different object states for each hair style. I can create a button with an advanced action that sets the object state on the first slide, but I'm a bit stuck displaying the correct object state on subsequent slides. It feels like I need to put the selected object state in a variable, then use the value of the variable to set the object state in each slides On Enter but I can't figure out how to do this. When I choose the 'change state of' action in my advanced action, I can choose the object name and the state, but I can't seem to use a variable value for the state.I have also tried executing the following javascript but nothing seems to happen - I'm not sure if I need to put this in a function or if it can be executed straight from the script window and my syntax is wrong?hairstate=window.cpAPIInterface.getVar
