I have knowledge checks throughout a course I am building, with the following requirements:1. Incorrect answers show feedback2. Correct answers show feedback3. User cannot move forward until the question has been answered (whether correctly or incorrectly)4. The course does not use the player navigate - the next and back buttons are built into the UIFinally, the speed of development is the highest priority at this point in the project.The fastest approach, in my mind, is to use the default Captivate quiz options of: Correct caption, Failure message, and On Success or Failure, Go to the Next Slide. So the user would select an answer, hit submit, and then click anywhere to continue.The instructional designer is asking whether it can instead be set up such that when you submit, the Next button is revealed. So the user would select an answer, hit submit, and then click Next to continue.I am thinking this takes more time because I have to use an Advanced Action to both show the Correct feed

When publishing a fill-in-the-blank quiz question in responsive, the output looks like this:This has two issues:1. I have to use a black font color in order for the text to show in the drop down. As you can see my question has a dark background with white text, which means the "blank" area in the question is practically impossible to see.  2. The font in the drop down does not match the font used in the question. It also looks like it's using two different fonts, one in the drop down and another once a choice is selected!I'm assuming that is because it's HTML5 rather than swf?Any work around?

I am trying to create Adobe Captivate Quiz and have included Drag and Drop Interactive Questions (along with MCQ questions). How to go to the next slide?I have changed the text of 'Submit' button to 'Next' button. In 'Drag and Drop' Actions, I have selected the following settings:The question looks like:The correct answer to this question is 'provide a safe workplace / environment'. When I try to submit a wrong answer or no answer, and click on the 'Next' (Submit) button, the control does not go to the next slide.I tried to keep these settings:This setting simply gives me 10 attempts to submit right answer. Without going to the next slide.What settings should I choose and how do I move to the next slide and ensure that the candidate has the freedom to revisit the question n number of times, until they 'Submit' the entire quiz?Thanks in advance

I use Captivate 2019.We are in QA testing for a course. The course has several slides where Advanced Actions handle the reveal / hiding of elements on the slide. Some elements start as hidden and are revealed, other elements start as visible and are eventually hidden, some variables are updated, and other elements go through state changes as the user interacts with the slide.The QA tester completed the course via the LMS, saved and exited, and then relaunched the course. Going through it the first time, everything works flawlessly. Going through it the second time, they are noticing that on some slides, elements that should be displayed, aren't, and vice versa. I'm struggling to figure out what the cause of the issue is and need some help with figuring out potential ways to troubleshoot.Any help would be appreciated.

Question: When exporting as HTML5 does Captivate resize images used in the lesson?If I place a 1920x1080 image on the stage and then resize it to 1024x768, on publish, is Captivate resizing/resaving the image as 1024x768?Or are my viewers having to download a 1920x1080 image that is being resized by the browser?It is hard to tell because all the images get converted in to JSON. The file size of the combined SCORM package does not seem much different if I use large images resized in Captivate or properly size images in Photoshop before importing them.Thanks!

Please HELP...Has anyone else had this error pop-up while trying to publish (share to computer).  Is there anyway to fix the error and publish?

I understand how user/learner variables work, but what if I want to easily establish some variables on the developer end that are specific to each course?For example, say I want button tied to a link (URL) to a course discussion forum specific to the course in question. What I'd like to do is have a spot on a hidden first slide where the developer can paste that URL before publishing. The forum button then addresses that specific URL in the published course, taking the learner to the appropriate discussion forum. So I'm not using a text entry field. I just want to define a variable on-screen without the developer having to take extra steps setting it up. They would just have to paste the URL in the appropriate spot on the slide. Is this possible and how would I make it work?

Hi, When running our e-learning we do so through the LMS on our intranet. We maintain training records on a separate HR system, Cascade. Cascade will not automatically import information from any system at present so we are looking to export a file from the LMS and import it into Cascade. My Captivate question is this. I need a way to get a unique identifier into the information being exported from the LMS so that Cascade can put it in the right place. I have tested a text entry box, but this doesn't seem reportable. Does anyone know a way around this or have a better idea? Any help much appreciated. Short version is I want someone to be able to enter an employee ID into their exercise in Captivate and have it reported in the data exported from the LMS. I should add, if it isn't obvious, that my level of Captivate knowledge is limited. Kind regardsPatrick

Hello. I am a fairly green Captivate user so please bear with me.I created a quiz and did not utilise the quiz templates. I used shapes as buttons and assigned a score. Is it possible to show the correct answers when users review the quiz? Either highlighting the correct answer (border shape) or by making a check mark (image) visible.Thanks!

Hi all, Just a question if I may as this is driving me nuts!I have created an e-learning module with a Knowledge based question and I need to play some audio in the background if they get it RIGHT.I have put an action in the Quiz properties section (in RED below) OK it's called "submit_monopoly_actions1"When the code is opened, I have this below:-Now, this doesn't see to WORK when I preview...I have a SUBMIT button and ideally when the user clicks this and gets the question right, the audio should play and then they can click anywhere on the screen to continue to the next slide.Am I doing something wrong here?Thanks in advance...Keith

Hi...Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue. Multiple people on my team are seeing something with the TEB buttons when used as shortcuts. Setup: Cp2019, updated recently to v11.5, Windows 10, developing Software Simulations, custom theme used, HTML5 only publishing.(Our) normal TEB setup: We often use the TEB shortcuts in our simulations. Sometimes, we use a shortcut on both the TEB itself and on the TEB button, to give the user two options to advance. One example: Say you're in a domain searching for something, you reach a certain letter and the item you are searching for populates the search field. In this case, we like to add the lowercase letter and the capital version (using CTRL + [letter]). One is placed on the TEB, the other on the button.Two issues identified:1. First issue, whenever both shortcuts are programmed, the projects are only seeming to advance when the TEB shortcut key is pressed, NOT the shortcut set on the button. Hi,  I'm trying to install Captivate 2019 using the default options but every time I try the Adobe Installer gets stuck.  I can get it to install up to 96% but it will not complete and the installer hangs indefinitely (see screenshot). Is there an easy fix for this as my IT Helpdesk is also struggling and I need the application working for a client I'm working with?  I used to have Captivate 2017 installed but uninstalled that version before trying to install 2019....and now I have nothing!!Thank you.

I don't want this to happen to youIf anyone is at a point where they  need to make the choice whether to use Cp on windows or mac I HIGHLY suggest using windowsI have just spent 3 hours with support, who helped as much as possible but in the end I was told my issue was a known bug and would be fixed in the next update. But they could not tell me when that would be. So I am being asked to continue to pay them monthly for a product that does not fully function and will possibly be forced to buy a PC to fulfill client obligations and keep my reputation.USE CAPTIVATE WITH WINDOWS OR MOVE TO STORYLINE!

I was considering updating to Captivate 11.5.0 for iMAC but had taken an online course about the new update and other participants had noted there were some issues with the update for MAC users. I read about some font issues in another forum discussion which caused some concern.Are there still problems with the update for iMAC?Thanks for letting me know if I should update or not.

I am trying to get James to say the word Triage correctly.  I have tried variation of spelling, but James with spell out the parts instead of pronouncing them for example: "treeahzh"; treeaazh", "treeaag"; "tryage";" treeazh". James pronounced Treeaazh as Tree a.a.z.h.  I was able to get James to pronounce Triage phonetically was "Triaje".  Thank you in advance for any help or pointers to get the voice overs to pronounce Triage correctly.  

I am using 3 images as Click Boxes. On clicking of these 3 boxes, I should get another pop-up (Or a content box rather) that suggests the user to click next along with some feedback content.I should be able to click any of these three click boxes randomly and still get the content box.I am fairly new to Captivate. It would be great if someone can suggest me the solution here.Cheers

Hey all, I'm just now making a serious transition to Captivate after years of using Articulate products.I'm trying to create a standard opening screen that references multiple web pages for references. How can I create a button action that opens the URL in question in a new browser window sans browser "chrome?" (Menu, toolbars, address bar, etc.) I want the learner to be able to click, read the info in the resulting new web page, then close the new web page and continue with the course. Any advice appreciated. This is probably very simple to do for you experienced Captivate users.

Hi,on some slides I have an issue with motion paths in Adobe Captivate 2019, 11.5.0.476. The problem persists already since several versions, but I cannot find a common denominator/reason.On some slides the motion effect is not fluid but stutters/jerks during execution. The number of elements and the duration of effects seem to be irrelevant. While the issue occurs in Firefox, Edge and Chrome (on different PCs), it is slightly better in Chrome. Hello,Does anyone know if the newest version of Captivate fixes the TEB Tab Shortcut bug for HTML5 only?Basically, if you create a Text Entry Box, and have it validate and set the shortcut to Tab - the simulation would not go to the next slide, but would lose focus and go to URL bar and other places until the Tab key finally went to next slide.  This only happens when publishing as HTML5 only. If you publish as a SWF/HTML5 it's fine, however our group has created a policy of no swf files.  This will cause our software simulations, which are forms that tab from one field to the next, to no longer work. Does Captivate 2019 fix this issue? Thank you,Christine

I can't get the moduleReadyEvent to fire. I know I'm doing something stupid, but I've been fussing with this for hours now and could really use some help.I'm on Captivate 11.0.1.266, publishing as HTML5 only.This code is on my first slide, using an On Enter action.The time shows in the console (10:34 am), so I know the code works.  The success message never appears.window.addEventListener("moduleReadyEvent", function evtFunc(evt){console.log("success");});console.log("10:34 am");What am I missing?

HiI have a very simple advanced action. It does 2 things.1. Assigns a variable.2. shows a "next" buttonOn success of clicking a button nothing at all happens on one slide.The other 5 slides with similar AA's work perfectly.1. I have deleted the variable and advanced action and rewrote them. 2. i have completely rebuilt the slide from scratch and nothing works.the timeline looks like this. And the on enter for slide is set to no actionI am running out of options.

Hello,I seem to have a a PNG image stuck on my slide. I first thought it to be on the master...it isn't.It it is not visible in the timeline. When i place a video on that slide the object pause the video. I can't delete, move or do anything at all to this object. See below please. no idea what could be happening.
