Hi, I'm quite new to Captivate. I have an unresponsive project and published it as a full screen .exe file (without the play head) which runs fine on my PC, but is too big on other monitors. The project is on a shared folder and intended for training purposes, is there a way to make sure the file will adjust its size depending on what PC/Laptop it is opened on?v 11.0.1Thanks.

Hi:I'm new to Captivate and testing to see how things work.I've imported a PowerPoint presentation, not embedded, and then exported to see what the file structure and size look like.The PowerPoint is 27MB and the Captivate with the embbeded PowerPoint is 190 MB so I assume Captivate is creating a full res image for each slide.When I publish to html, the files are saved as PNG and the total project is 105 MB.In an attempt to reduce the file size, I imported a set of jpegs of the PPT presentation. The total jpgs are 6MB and the Captivate file is 7 MB - much better.When I publish this version to html, the folder is 37MB. It seems like a lot of extra data and I see that the images are converted to json (which I've never seen before).I then selected all the slides and set the properties/quality to jpg. When I publish this version to html with publish quality = jpg 50%, the folder is 26MB and images are converted to png.Is there a way to control the output?When publishing, the "Size and Qaul

Hi -Our team is creating a responsive project that has buttons users will click to access PDFs. I found this article (Learning Developments: 5 Simple Steps to Attach a File in Adobe Captivate) that explains how to insert a PDF. I followed the article's instructions and it worked great. However, I'm a bit confused because Captivate gave the below alert The alert says to put the pdfs in the "callees" folder. I tried this as well, and the buttons work fine. my question: does it matter if I put the pdfs in the Callees folder or in the top level of the output?

Hi there, I am creating a responsive project in Captivate2019 and am having issues with the native keyboard popping up on the mobile device causing the project to reduce size to fit in the remaining space. This is happening when the user selects a text entry box. I would prefer the keyboard to overlay the project so that it keeps all the proportions. I'm using a Samsung Note8.If it helps, it's a training package for a mobile app with an interactive test at the end of the modules where the user has to use a simulator to complete tasks on the application. This is where the text entry boxes appear so I need the simulator to continue to fill the Note8 screen even when the keyboard opens.Any assistance with this would be great, thanks.

I am trying to get an advanced action to implement a page changing routine, e.g. showing only one page and hiding the rest. My problem is that if I use Decision groups for each conditional statement, if variable Page = 1, the routines all execute and it goes from 1 to 99 in the same click. I only want it to execute 1 condition per click.

I have used a Captivate 8 file (.cptx) as a template/placeholder in multiple projects.  I customized the original file, including changing fonts, then used 'save as' to create many new courses from the "template".  Today I opened one of the captivate projects and the fonts had reverted back to the original file, then realized that ALL my Captivate files had reverted back.The projects are stored on both my PC's hard drive and on a network drive.  I verified that the fonts in all the Captivate files are also wrong when opened by a coworker on another PC, to rule out that it is my Captivate preferences or settings.Any thoughts on why this may have happened?

I have an unusual questions.  I am currently building training for reading a meter.  The meter is read from right to left which is also the direction we would like to fill in the blank, is this even possible?

HelloIn the publication of an interactive project, Captivate includes an image, with a size and an interactive area for the start click. If I'm not mistaken, there is a specific hot area to click on the image and I think it is not modifiable.It is the case that the project visualized in mobile, in vertical format, the image and the hot area are below the visualization and the user would not know what to do.This can be modified.Thank you

Alight.  Captivate.I inherited a project I'm trying to complete.  The entire project is nearly complete; however, whenever I go to preview in browser or publish to a video, text and photos are gone.  At first, I had some sections with the red box, and after updating each slide to maximum quality, those red boxes left. I am now finding that as the file progresses text and images are not fading in like they should.  On the timeline in captivate it looks alright, and in the preview in the program itself it works like it should.I have a background in after effects, and I find captivate very limiting and its very frustrating not being able to solve what appears to be a simple problem without relative ease.Does anyone have any suggestions?  To my knowledge every slide is visible and seems fine in captivate.  Is there a setting I'm missing with the objects options?Best,Derek

Please help me! I am new to Captivate and I am using Captivate 2017. I am working to turn a power point into elearning. When I uploaded the powerpoint for some reason the pictures on the first slide did not come over. I see them while I'm creating the elearning but when I preview, there are no pictures. That is driving me crazy. I'm pretty sure that I selected high def when importing the power point. Please tell me how to fix it? I have gone back to the power point and tried to move the pictures forward and to the front. It still doesn't show when I preview.The next question, one of the power point slides had a youtube video embedded. When I imported the slide I could not see the youtube video so I just deleted that slide and figured I would try to link it another way. The video is in my Captivate library. Is there a reason I did not see the video when importing to Captivate? Is there a quick fix?I would share the project here but I don't see an option.

Hi there,There does not seem to be any settings in Captivate 9 or in Media Encoder where it is possible to control the conversion of videos when publishing Captivate projects to HTML5.When publishing Captivate, the Media Encoder automatically converts all videos to 320x240 resulting in poor video quality. Hello, I apologize if this is a noob question, but I'm having a really difficult time uploading my captivate file into my Learndash LMS. I'm using captivate 9 and trying to publish a small HTML5/SWF course. I've uploaded the captivate zip file into my wordpress media library, and that's where I'm pretty much stuck. I'm not interested (at this point) in collecting user data, so I don't need tin can or anything like that. I simply want to include my captivate file inside one of my topics on a LearnDash course. I am aware that there is a plugin specifically designed for uploading captivate content onto wordpress, however the plugin is quite pricey and I've read rather poor reviews about it. I know there is a way to do this using iframe, I'm just not sure I understand it. If someone who has experience in this area could provide some help I would be forever grateful. Thanks.

My courses were created in Cp2017 initially publishing as SWF and HTML5. I'm being asked now to only publish as HTML5 and when I do, many of the items are not working correctly - drag and drop not working, widgets not working, states not working correctly-may or maynot show, unable to enter in text entry boxes, feedback flashes on the screen and totally not readable...Prior to publishing, I checked the HTML5 tracker and nothing was listed. Course worked as designed when SWF was included in the publish.Will upgrading to Cp2019 fix any of the publishing issues by being the latest version? Or, has anyone encountered these issues and if so, how did you mitigate them?Thanks so much!Cindy

I can't get the shadow or reflection to show up in any state except the default state. I'm not sure why the Shadow and Reflection area is not grayed out if it can't be used for the other states.

I've been working on a Captivate project for some time with no issue.However, today I publish the project and Captivate is rolling back to non typekit fonts. Strange, as I had made no font style changes and before it was working fine.So, I check the web projects on adobe font and can see that Captivate has not included any fonts in the latest publish.See attached screenshot:You can see on the 17th of may Interstate was included. Today (20th may) not fonts.Why has Captivate stopped including myFonts? I am logged in to CC, everything else is synching fine.Any ideas?! any fonts in the latest publish.See attached screenshot. You can see the 3rd version down did include the fonts and this worked OK. I have made no changes to font styling and Captivate should just publish and include fonts - but it does not.

I am relatively new to Captivate. I am creating an interactive software demo. I started with a blank project then added software simulation slides. I added buttons, text captions, and roll over captions to some of the slides so that the user can interact with the demo as they would the software. This demo is intended to be used for training purposes (hence why I included text captions to help guide them through and provide additional information) but we would also like to use this in presentations, and would therefore like to be able to hide all text captions and roll over captions within the project when necessary. Is there a way to do this? v. 11.0.1

Hi, I have several users who are running captivate 2017 on a Windows 10 laptop that exceeds recommended spec and they get the following issue: when pressing 'play' to preview a project from the edit window (play button in the bottom left), it plays fine up until a certain point in the video. The video then stops and captivate crashes to desktop. I like to narrate off of a separate script and not from Notes inside of Captivate. Is there a way to upload a script directly into captivate for the creation of captions? Say for example I have the entire script in a flat file with some sort of symbol to indicate slide number?

Hi there,I have an effect on a group of objects. It is a risk meter. When a user clicks on the button "high" there is an advanced action that moves the needed called "grp_Needle_01" to the left. The thing is that if I click a second time the button "high", the needed goes further left, etc.This behaviour is normal, but how can I make it so when I click on "high" the needed goes back to the 0 position (in the centre) and moves to the left the same way it does when I click the "high" button the first time.There is an easy option in Storyline that solves this. I was thinking that there should be a way to do that with Advanced actions in Captivate.Thanks in advance for any ideas.Bobby

I'm using Captivate 2019 and publishing as HTML5.On hotpot questions, we use an image called bullet_blue.png.  It's a small blue circle that doesn't cover too big an area when a user clicks on it, and has no animation.  It's suitable for our use.On some projects, instead of displaying the nice blue circle, it instead displays as a larger image with lines that flash in and out.   It obscures too big an area and I would think the flashing is not good for accessibility.I've looked through settings and trawled forums but I can't find out why it does it on some projects and how to make it appear as it should.

Hi there, I have imported a PowerPoint presentation in captivate (version 11.......) and then I have added the quiz at the end. everything worked fine till I decided to export the scorm 1.2 file and during the course I have pictures missing. what can be the problem? If I run the preview in captivate the pictures are there and everything looks perfect, but once I create the scorm file something goes wrong.thanks in advance for your help

I use Adobe Captivate’s Video Demo feature as a screen capturing tool to create short instructional videos. I’ve used it a number of times in the past without any problems, however, I’m experiencing a problem now that I haven’t been able to solve: When I play back the video I’ve just recorded, the mouse in the playback is not synched with the mouse’s actions on the screen. The physical mouse is delayed behind what it is doing. For example, if, for the video, I select a file in a folder, on the playback, the file will highlight before the mouse clicks on the file or has even reached the file. Strangely, the problem appears to specifically occur with regards to highlighting files or folders, because in the same video, there is a button click and some keyboard typing into an input field, but these appear to be synched in time.Captivate does have some recording settings that I’ve played around with, but I’ve exhausted all its options and nothing has worked.
