Hello!I have used the record function to record a how to demo for a customer. (Software simulation)I want to be able to use the text to speech function as it is too noisy here to record my own voice. BUT I cannot figure out how to do this in captivate 9 - all tutorials seem to be for earlier versions which are leading me nowhere. Help??*I do not have the option to go to audio - speech management. That is what all the tutorials have tried to tell me to do*

I am working on a software simulation lesson where the user is to click a Click Box to advance to the next slide.  On each slide we used to use Roll Overs that provide the learner with a hint on what they should click.  The rollover reveals an image of an arrow.  I am converting our lessons to HTML 5 and realize that rollovers are not compatible.  So, I have replaced the rollover with a multi state button that is set up to do no actions.  I have three states for the button:Normal State - Shows Hint iconRoll Over - Shows Hint icon and Arrow pointing to  click boxDown - Shows Hint icon and Arrow pointing to click boxThis works just fine on the computer in all web browsers.  However if hold down on the Multi State button, while using an iPad, for about three seconds. The slide will advance forward.  I have removed all actions from the Multi State and timings as well.  I assume that this might be a glitch with iOS, but thought I would ask the gr

I have created a number of projects in Captivate 2017, I have set up a TOC for each of these projects and ensured that show TOC is checked and that I have refreshed the TOC so it is completely up to date.  when I preview the projects the TOC is there, however, when I publish the projects as a video the TOC it is not there.  This is happening in every single project that I have published.  I have previously used Captivate 6 and Captivate 8 and never had these problems.  Has anyone else experienced this problem as I am at a complete loss as to why this isn't working.  I've gone through this with a colleague who uses captivate as well and even they are stumped by this one!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am working on making a project created in Captivate 9 (non-responsive) into a responsive project. I am using breakpoint mode in Captivate 2017. This project includes assessments made that used multiple choice questions but are really surveys. It is setup as survey in quiz properties. In the previous project, the assessment and scoring was working well, using advanced action. This was even tested in captivate 2017. No changes were made to adv. action but when it is responsive/on current project, the adv action is doing weird things.The advanced action we are using is below for slide 1:For slide 2 below:Then I am having mbTh1Lv1Score reporting in a chart on results page.The issue that is happening in the responsive versions is that if person answers "3" on q1: meaning cpQuizInfoAnswerChoice should be 3, making mbTally 3, and 4 on q2 making mbTh1Lv1Q2 = 4. When the 2 are being added (mbTally + mbTh1Lv1Q2) it is combining instead of adding. Meaning it is coming up with 34 instead of 7. W

Hi all,I usually use the default playbar and have never had any issues with closed captioning. However, for my current project I'm using custom navigation buttons for the first time and have been trying to figure out how to get closed captioning to work the way it does with the default playbar.I'm using a button with a conditional action that checks the value of cpcmndCC, and sets it to either 1 or 0 depending upon the value to show/hide closed captions. The problem I'm having is that the closed captions display when the button is clicked, but they immediately disappear when the subsequent audio marker is reached in the timeline. For example, the audio for one slide might be broken into 3 sections of closed captioning. When I hit the CC button, the first section shows up, but when the second section should display, the CC box disappears. I can hit the button again and see the second section, but then when the third section should appear, the box disappears again. I've tried researching

Hello, Recently I've upgraded to a new computer, and had to re-install captivate 9. I am working on an older project, and noticed that the jQuery version is different from what I am seeing now. On my previous computer Captivate was publishing out jquery-1.11.3.min, and now its putting out jquery-1.6.1.min. Does anyone know how I would go about changing this setting back to 1.11.3 for all future published files?

I'm testing courses on SCORM Cloud and on my company's internal LMS. Some courses launch successfully, most get stuck at the spinning graphic. Quiz enabled, SCORM 1.2. The SCORM Cloud folks showed me the following error messages in a screenshot. What does it mean?

I amusing James voice in Captivate 2017 for text to speech and it will not pronounce the work triage, it messes up when it has to pronounce the "a", please advise what I can do. Thanks! 

Hello. I have a responsive project that has a quiz with 7 questions (each 10 points), so total is 70.I have tested more than 50 times, and the total quiz points always result less 10 points, than it should be. So, I answered all correct , and the result is 60. (should be 70). I have inserted the variable "$$cpQuizInfoPointsscored$$"  to show the rest of project, so I can see each questions pointing while I answer.What I could see is: Always a random question doesnt point, unless I come back using the playbar and answer again. Could it be something related to animations?Can anyone help me? I've already checked the Advanced Interaction Panel (F9) and is all correct. Already tried to copy the slides to a new project and nothing.

Any ideas how to get a german voice for the text-to-speech function in Captivate 6? I was looking for "stefan" I used within captivate 5.5. But apparently there is no loquendo-content any more.Many thanks and kind regards,Brigitte

Greetings:I am using Chrome and there seems to be some sort of issue going on with Adobe Captivate and the sound. First, the update in Chrome means that everyone has to initiate the sound for the web--which means projects won't play sound automatically. My main issue, however, is that the sound on my title slide will not play on the web. I have set it up in Adobe Captivate correctly. It plays in Preview Slide mode. It will play if I Preview Project and then open it in Internet Explorer (which I hate). I do not like that we seem to be moving backward with compatibility here.  I thought we were past the days of having to use a certain type of web browser for content, but apparently not. I use Chrome often, and so does the majority of my clients--and I can and will no longer be able to use Adobe Captivate if this problem isn't fixed. I don't have this issue with Articulate Storyline. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Derek

Hi, All,I have searched the forum but can't find an answer, so I thought I'd ask here.I am using Captivate 8 (I know, it's old--but it's what I've got!). I have a piano keyboard image and a smart shape over some keys. If they click on/play the note I want them to play, audio is triggered (that's working great). If they click on/play the note I don't want them to play, a text caption appears telling them to try again (also working great). I have set the shapes to 0% opacity and the line width to zero, so the boxes can't be seen--until the mouse hovers and clicks. This is a problem because the smart shapes covering the incorrect choices were drawn with the polygon tool, and the borders are uneven. Uneven borders are necessary because of the shape of the keys (black keys/white keys are not perfect rectangles), but it looks unprofessional when the mouse hovers on them.How can I change the settings or properties so that the smart shape does NOT show up when the mouse hovers or clicks on the

Hi allI am returning to the forum having had a break of 2 years or so. I am a teacher of Economics and Business Studies and I am looking at using Captivate to develop some flexible learning interactions. These interactions will be from full blown courses which would generally use a blended learning approach. There will be Instruction (text, audio and video) and tests/quizzes which will analyse responses and give advice for further learning etc.I wish to produce executables for windows and mac laptops which will run as standalone packages. I will bundle combinations of quizzes and topics for particular students / courses.I do believe that this will be stretching Captivate although I am just looking at Captivate 2017 and this might be a breeze for the current version.I will use web server/LMS (HTML 5? and all that).  if necessary but I really wish to avoid this complexity if possible. I have some expertise in Filemaker and I am also looking at producing small executables there.I hav

I am putting together a project with fluid boxes and I am limited for space for reading text. I intend therefore to make small fluid boxes containing text captions into which I will paste a block of text too large for the fluid box. When I do this I get the little "expand text" icon (see image) which when clicked expands the text to show in the whole project window with a scroll bar.I get the effect shown (see image) but the text is displayed terribly.Is there a way I can change the default presentation of the text once it is expanded e.g. font, font colour and background colour.Any advice appreciated

hi,I have 5 to 6 drag and drop interactions and 10 multiple choice questions as a part of the Quiz. Iam facing two issues currently..1. When clicked review quiz at the end, the correct answers are not showing for click and drag, where as for multiple choice it is shown, I need the correct answers to be shown for click and drag also.2. I have placed the questions in between the slides and not at the end. So when review quiz is clicked, it goes to the first question which is click drag and it goes to the inbetween slides also which is a strange thing.whereas the multiple choices are grouped and the inbetween slides are not shown.what i need is when user clicks review quiz, it shd show all the questions only and the click and drag shd show correct answers.Pls help me out...

I am using Captivate 2017 and getting the Swf compilation file error message. I am unable to preview or publish my project.From reading other's posts, it seems this error is usually tied to a specific project or slide within a project. For me, it is happening with ALL projects. I created a new blank project and still experienced the error.I have cleared my Captivate cache folder and my IE and Chrome cache as well - no difference. I have moved My Captivate Projects folder to a local drive from OneDrive - no success.What do others recommend?  Any ideas or help appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

I am working on a project in Captivate 2017. when I  preview the project, I see a submit button in the middle of the screen,     I went back and looked at this slide, I do not see this button anywhere on the timeline and this does not show up when I play the slide.  This Button appears to be hidden somehow. The first time I tried to import PowerPoint slides, I had no problem. From the Captivate file I was working on, I went to File > Import > PowerPoint Slides... , I was prompted to select a PowerPoint file, and then I was given the option to select all, or some of the slides from the PowerPoint file. Great.The problem:Later, while working with the same Captivate file, I needed to import slides from another PowerPoint file. Again I went to File > Import > PowerPoint Slides... . However, I was not prompted to select a PowerPoint file. Instead, this is the window that opened: The PowerPoint file is already selected for me. But I don't need to import more slides from this PowerPoint file. I need to import slides from another one.However, I see no option to select another PowerPoint file.What can I do now?

Is there a way to keep a specific button hidden on a slide until other buttons have been clicked? For example, I have a "Continue" button at the bottom of my slide. I don't want that button to appear until all other buttons on the slide have been clicked to view their content. I figured out how to retain custom states for the buttons, so maybe have some kind of conditional action on entry of the slide that says "if all buttons have a state of X, then show Continue button, else keep it hidden".

Hi All!  I am brand new to using Captivate.  I have created click boxes that, once clicked, will give the user an explanation of the particular icon.  There are four of these on the slide.  I am having a difficult time finding a way for the text box to disappear after the user clicks outside of the box.  All of the boxes, once clicked, stay on screen and obstruct the view of all other important information.   What should I do?  Thank you in advance!

I recorded a software simulation as an assessment. Some slides require shortcut keys and text input as the correct responses. The number of attempts is limited to 2, but when users click on the screen rather than inputting the shortcut keys or text, the simulation does not recognize those clicks as incorrect attempts; neither the "Failure" nor "Hint" captions trigger, and the simulation does not progress.How do I get those incorrect clicks to trigger the "Failure" or "Hint" captions?Can I include them in the quiz as incorrect attempts?

I have a non-responsive project in Captivate 9 that I have to publish to HTML5 output, and I'm having a problem getting matching questions (knowledge checks) to display properly. The answer choices do not usually show up in the dropdown menu. Sometimes they will show up if I click past the page and then go back to it, but it's very inconsistent behavior. I've tested on SCORM Cloud in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Please see the screenshots below. I appreciate any help anyone can offer! I can't swap these out for drag and drop due to accessibility concerns, and I'm not an advanced user so if you have an advanced solution, please explain step by step!
