Questions

When I stream I want my character to do bouncing effects when I talk (kinda like a pngtuber avatar).  I tend to move quite a lot when streaming and don't want my character to be moving when I am moving but want some kind of movement (like a pngtuber bounce effect) when I am talking.  I have difficulty sitting still.  If that makes sense. Thank You

I see many aging articles on the internet, but nothing that explains how to use the rigging system, how to create the motion in between frames, or even how to hook this into a separate audio system besides the microphone. I wanted to expound upon my drawing ability, but this platform seems mighty but underdocumented. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a tutorial?

Are there any sites that will make puppets and rig them 

I have installed and uninstalled Ch and opened local files and I'm still getting the same errors as if I was opening Cloud files. The errors also occur when opening any example files from the Welcome Screen and my relocated local files. Errors below: 

I created a puppet from artwork in Illustrator and saved it as a .ai file. I am using Illustrator cc vs. 29.0 and Adobe Character cc vs 25.0 both updated 4 days ago.  When I try to import there are NO .ai files in my file, but if I open it in Explorer the .ai file is in Explorer. I am new to Character Animator, but not new to either animation or editing. This is the first puppet that I am trying to import. Where is the incompatibility between the two programs? I am not using the 2020 version and would hope that the bug would have been fixed by now. I am also using the pro version and no free versions of either program. I am quite frustrated right now, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been very thorough in creating the puppet in Illustrator with all the layers and following the guide exactly. I am on Windows 11, as I said, I am using CC version 29.0 and CC 25.0 of Character Animator. I have tried File - import - chose file on a computer - and there are no AI

I’m trying to open Adobe Character Animator, but I’m getting an error like this. I’ve updated the drivers, but the result hasn’t changed. How can I solve this problem?

Hi there !  I've been using Character Animator for a year and a half, animated over 150 Youtube shorts and more than an hour and a half of full animation via Character Animator. With all that time spent on Ch, I now know how to proceed whenever I want a new character to be rigged, and that implies changing a few parameters on the properties panel each time I import a new one. For instance, I don't like the "Head Scale Strenght" nor the "Parallax Streght".I don't use the Eye Gaze behaviour via the camera, but only through the keyboard arrows.Same goes for some other behaviour : I change the "Bend Strenght" down to 60% on the Limb IK behaviour, and always put the "Strenght" of the walk behaviour down to 70%. I could be fine with doing these modifications each time if I had very few characters I need to rig for every new projects, but since I have a lot of them (more than 1500 .ai files on my computer), it is really time consuming. Is there any way to change the d

I have an issue that has never happened before. I have a puppet that I have been working with. I have made 4 about half hour videos with it. Before I get a bunch of hate regarding self-promotion, I just wanted to suggest that Adobe set up an area within the Character Animator Forum a section that let's users share and promote their Character Animator work. After all, we are a community and it would be great if we could support each other and share our final projects. Members try to assist others when it comes to solving problems, so it would be nice to view the end product. Anyway, I'll go first (go easy on me!) and kindly ask the community to check out a YouTube channel that I co-created (and subscribe, if you'd like to see more content).  We wouldn't have been able to do it without Character Animator. I'm usually pretty adept at CA, but this issue has me stumped! I'm modifying several puppets that I've purchased, and in most cases I've been able to 'Edit Original' and change the artwork in Adobe Illustrator. One of them is giving me problems, however. When I open it up in the RIG window the "Puppet" dropdown in the Properties  panel is blank; normally there's a link to the artwork file. Once more, when I right-click on the Puppet the "Edit Original" command is greyed out. The original AI file is definitely being copied to the Gathered Media folder (and I can modify a copy of it) but I can't update the Puppet art.   Has this happened to anyone else? TIA, JVK

Hello, I have a Illustrator file set up for Character Animator. The puppet works fine. I want to change the artwork for the left arm of the character. I add the arm into Illustrator, turn off the old arm, and everything seems fine in Illustrator. When I save and go back into the Charcter Animator puppet, the new left arm doesn't show up. The new arm that i brought into Illustrator is a PNG file if that helps a diagnosis. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks! 

Hi. My sound and lipsync are off or delayed whenever I'm setting up a scene. The sound goes out and then the audio is out of sync. What could be the problem?

Hi - I really want to add the 'Wiggle' behaviour to my puppet but all of my puppets are Ps not Ai. Would anyone know do I need to do it in After Effects - and if so which Wiggle effect would be best to get a similar result as the wiggly lines acheived with an Ai file in Character Animator?  Or is there another workaround for this? Thanks for any help!

[newbie alert]  I'm just learning about "Triggers"  and I was wondering if it is possible to animate a body part (Arms) and do all the animation within Character Animator using the 'Draggable' tag on a body part.  The tutorials I've been watching have the animations made outside of Character Animator [in Photosop] and brought in as a sequence and then turned into Trigger Animations. But could I drag the arms around (using the Draggable Tag) and capture that motion / pose? And make it into a sequence that can then be converted to a Trigger Animation??? Ideally, I'd like to create more poses/animations within the App, if possible.PS. I know that you can capture animation derived from the MoCap tool- but its still unclear how to capture animations made on the timeline.

 i have a problem when recording, it keeps stuttering(randomly 5 frames, 8 frames,10 frames each seconds). after using it for a long time, i see the problem happen when i turn on face and eye gaze. i record with camera HD (30fps@720p) of MSI Cyborg 15 A12VF laptop.i want to ask if anyone has encountered the same situation as me and what camera do you use to record. and if you use an external camera to record, what type is enough.please give me a survey so that i can confirm that it is a hardware error and not a software problem. is that record with camera HD (30fps@720p) unnomal.thank you, Guys.

When I add a trigger to my eyebrows, they disappear in the record tab.Then if I press the trigger (e) the eye brows appear while I'm pressing the utoon.I want them to move up and down... What am I doing wrong?   

Hi there,i have built a puppet puppet and a number of backgrounds that I'm triggering via a midi keyboard.  I am using them during a live performance streaming the scene to a projector. Everything is working well but I can't figure out if I can use a midi trigger to "Set Rest Pose" as opposed to hitting "Command + P".Can anyone tell me if this is possible? And if so, how to do it?Many thanks in advance,Phil

i wanna record my puppet in character animator but it extremely slow even that i'm not adjust anything in the toolbar, rate record still 1s-1s. i'm delete it and install again , it back to nomal but in a short time and back again. I know that it happen because it want to record frame by frame. but i don't want that. i wnat to record it like nomal in realtime. anyone know please help me, tks guys.

Helo everyone. I am using the trial version of Animator and was wondering if I can impor my own avatar or image and animate it. I have found other AI software that can do what I want, but I like to have control of the animation and was hoping that Adobe Character Animator would help. Thank you.

I am syncing mouths and am running into two issues. My character is designed so that instead of there being a jaw that goes up and down in sync to the mouths, the mouths instead are masked on the bottom of the head shape and are cut off on the bottom when they reach beyond it, like they remain inside the head. He's made to be animated in Adobe Animate, but I can't figure out how to do that in Ch. Is there a way to mask assets instead another layer asset? Secondly, I notice that when I put a smiling and frowning mouth set inside a Trigger Swap, the latched set appeared to be warped in the middle of their artwork when they're recorded. What is causing this? Thank you!

Hi, I have imported a solid color backgound (that I created in Photoshop) to my scene in Character Animator. When I export the project the color doesn't match other elements with the same color. Is there a setting I might have turned on or similar that makes the color off? Or is there a way to change background in Character Animator to a custom solid color? Cheers,Patrik

 I have another problem regarding legs.I don't know why but if i am making the puppet walk on left it is going perfect but if in am making her walk right you can look bleow whats happening. Adobe Character Animator 2020 2024-09-03 14-23-07.mp4Preview

My characters' body appears in the rigging window but in the scene it's completely gone. Any help would be great.
