Hello This is my first time trying to make a puppet walk and I have "run" into some issues (pun intended). as you can see in this screen shot of him walking:The legs aren't attached and the shoulders aren't attached. Here is what the puppet looks like in rig mode. (after taking the following picture I tried using the pin tool to further try to connect the arms and legs to the body and it didn't make a difference) Turning the strength to 100% for walking seems to somewhat help but still it's far from a desired result. It also reveals another problem, the head starts stretching with the neck. I was atempting to follow this youttube tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv_2Upvtm-M Thanks for any help you can provide me. Here is a link to my pathetic excuse for a puppet.https://adobe.ly/2RIu4Sw
Hello everyone, I can create a camera triggerable shot that moves/zooms the camera immediatley. I want to do the same concept but have it zoom to the position smoothly and I'm looking for a way to do it live, I realize I can do it in the editor after the fact but I was wondering if there's a way to do it live. Thank you all for any help. Happy quarantine.
I downloaded and am using the LindenAndRobot from Adobe. Looking for someone to help today.
Hello,I can't seem to get the pupils to move without distorting the white parts of his eyes (sometimes his right eyebrow for some reason). I would be grateful if anyone can help me have just the pupils move without it effecting anything else. Here are 3 link options of how you can view my puppet. https://adobe.ly/2wIk4kY https://drive.google.com/open?id=10kdUWaqNt36JqnRym-pPe0xWnog2avMN https://wetransfer.com/downloads/afa5c38bfff2eefe537977777086598a20200414211513/7450439b1d6afcdf9dad08f37435048b20200414211548/371782
I followed the walk cycle tutorial on Youtube by Okay Samurai. Everything's working out fine except for a problem I have with the artwork being pinched when he walks. I figured out that it is being caused by the characters origin. In the tutorial he says to place the characters main origin and the character groups origin at the bottom of the characters feet because that is where the character will pivot from. The problem for me is that the origin is causing a pinch in the artwork. No matter where it is placed it causes a problem. I attached some images to show what the problem is. Please help. Thanks.
Hello,The last two days I have been in contact with support and we have tried everything imaginable without luck. Is anyone else having this issue?
While I was trying to make a dynamic link between After effects and character animator I had a problem!! (the attached picture)
I usually make one animation with more than 60 scenes and this is my first time using CH on my work. When I set up a scene, I start recording then try to work on next scene. But whenever I change the body posture or eyes feature, the other scenes I already recorded automatically change. My puppet has a lot of different version of mouth, eyes, eyebrow and body, pose and clothes. It seems like I have to open new project for every single scene or I have to make hundred different version puppets of my character according to face and body pose. But that's weird. If I really have to, it'll make my work even more complicated and slower than before when I drew every single scene by my hand. I don't think this program is that stupid I can only find the tutorials of workflow for only one scene like a character is walking or talking. What I need is a full workflow of one animation episode that has a lot of different kinds of scenes Let me assume I'm making three scene
This is my first time using Character Animator, so I am a complete beginner. I'm also VERY not tech savy so please take that into account as well. I recently bought and installed Character Animator 3.2. The application boots up fine, and I can open a new project, but the program crashes as soon as I try to 1. Import a file (I tried a .psd template from adobe stock)2. Refresh my camera3. Sometimes right after I click "new project". Thanks for your help with this, I've searched all over the internet and haven't found a solution yet. I have attached a couple videos to this post.
So when I open my Puppet in Adobe Character Animator and Import the Background (Which I saved as a PNG) and Import my Foreground (Which I also saved as a PNG) they move along with my puppet when I turn my head which I don't want. I want them to remain static and they both have the crown turned on both of them to make them independent. How do I make these two PNG's Static objects so they don't move at all? For some reason the software thinks these assets are puppets.
hi I've got a puppet I've been working on, and I have everything working (ie blink pupils eyebrows and all that) but when I move my head a part in between the eyes seems to stay in place stretching out and deforming everything. Ive tried having the face background both independent and not and I'm just not sure whats making it do this.
Hi all. I'm fairly new to Character Animator and I am interested in using my won artwork and animating it. What is the best way to do this? If anyone has a step by step tutorial I would be very grateful. I figure that is the best way for me to learn. Or if it's not recommended you use artwork to animate then please let me know that as well. Thanks

Hello!Im trying to add a walk behavior to a 4 legged character but I'm not sure how to do it if my character has 5 different body views. I also added a frontal view but im not sure if I can make the character walk from that view. I'm also trying to add handle tools to tag the Front Right leg but is not letting me because the layer is "empty". Any feedback will be appreciated,Thank you.
Hello.wondering if anyone has any ideas on this.LOVE Character Animator. Am building puppets and learning a lot. I understand squinting triggers are completely functional and I've built and used them. But with so much functionality and versatility in CA it should be possible to do what I'm looking to do here. My character's eyes are fully functional. I would just like to get MORE CameraTracking Automation Functionality out of the character to free up focus for action triggers and performances for both quick-&-dirty animations and of course, LIVE performances. WHY click 2-5 triggers for eyes when the camera tracker should be able to handle most of it? Just my thoughts. My character's eyes are clip-masked and rigged for CameraTrack Eyelid Expression Automation. RIG EXAMPLE (BOTH eyes rigged, merely using one eye as example):Left Eye -Left Eyeball Outline &n
I am fairly new at this,I downloaded a puppet that was previously rigged. Everything seemed to work good. But then I changed the size of the images in the PSD file, and the rigging does not work the same way anymore. For instance the arms are coming off when I use the draggable feature. Please help
Hello, I am new to character animator and can't figure out how to show the layers of an imported illustrator file. This is what I see:Each of the strokes in the background are on their own layer but I can't figure out how to show them in the bottom timeline to manipulate each layer like this image below (taken from this video )
Hello - Is there a native way to livestream more than 1 character via CH or is the solution to use a dedicated PC for each character then produce them together via a mixer such as vMix?I haven't tried it yet but I've seen it done live here: https://youtu.be/7li_rEQ4TL4
I can't figure out whats wrong with this character. I have two main issues.... JAW: When I have the head group independant I can't move the rest of my body with my head. But if I don't make it independant my entire body moves with my jaw.ARMS: One arm beds the wrong way but only in recordings. I have this issue with several of my characters and sometimes they work just fine even though I'm working off the same "template". I'm sure these are minor adjustments but I can't get it right. Any suggestions? Tom Puppet
What is the best way to make this puffin graphic walk, I just want him/her to walk, move wings (1-2 cm), and open his beak. What optionsl should I use when Im tagging /rugging in CAThanks
My character is an inanimate object (it's a bottle), so he does not have a head, his face is on his body. Is this possibly why I can't pin the limbs to the body? If not, what am I doing wrong? How do I set the layers up properly for a situation like this?
I have a base puppet that includes an AI graphic, behaviors, triggers, etc. I want instances (duplicates) of it that are different in graphic elements like hair length and skin color. What is the best way to maintain the behaviors and triggers in the duplicates? Export and import? OR... is there a good way to change skin color across all of the AI layers for one puppet that include 5 head profiles, 5 hand choices in each of 5 body profiles, etc? Note that “Recolor artwork” seems to only work on visible layers, resulting in a bunch of toggling to turn them all on and then try to get them back to the original states after changing skin color. The ideal approach would be to import the base puppet in CA each time, then set a few parameters like skin color, hair color, and hair length. I doubt this would work, however. <sigh>
Hello, I didn't buy the webcam because it became expensive due to the influence of Corona. So I want to use a cell phone camera, action camera, mirrorless camera, etc.Can these cameras be connected in the adobe character animator? I tested a mirrorless camera and a cell phone camera and I couldn't detect it. Please let me know if there is a way.
I've been having trouble opening Character Animator on my Windows 10 laptop. I've been trying for hours and hours, using different methods experienced by some After Effects users with no avail. Every time I open my Character Animator 2020, this appears (attached below). I've tried running it as an administrator, uninstalling and downloading previous versions and changing the names of previous files. Not sure what to do, does anyone have suggestions?
Hello there! I am starting to work with character animator and had made a character that worked quite well. I made another character of a similar design, and for some reason his body does not move nearly as much when I move my head as the other character i made previously does. I can't figure it out at all. I have tried making all necessary layers independent and still moves the same... I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or has a solution. Thanks!
