Hi, me again.I was wondering if it was possible for a trigger to be triggered every 10 seconds or something like that.I have a character who I created custom blinking for. I just wanted more frames to occur for him to make it feel smoother. Now it looks great, but I have to press the keyboard every time I want him to blink as the custom animated blink can't be triggered(or connected) to physically blinking(I think?)Is there a way to trigger a cycle every few seconds or frames? And have this timed trigger happen continuously, with the time indicated.Any help would be appreciated!
Hello, I want to attach my arms, legs and head to the character's body so they move when I drag the body. Ay help?
I am tryign to export my animation into after effects but it is giving me some trouble, after effects says it cannot read the xml files. Just like in the directions it and it does not work, when I try I get this.
Everything seems to be working except the pupils. They are just floating around the face. Strange. I have a screen video but not sure how to upload here.Any suggestions on how to restrain the pupils? I've never had this happen before.oksamurai
Currently I have an OpenGL issue that pops up when I open Character Animator on my computer. I have an Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 on my computer and it is not compatible with Character Animator. Updating the driver didn't seem to work and Intel discontinued the HD Graphics 3000. I have an HP computer that runs Windows 10. Since I can't figure out the graphics driver dilemma, is there an older version of Character Animator that would be compatible with my graphics driver and Windows 10?
I managed to get a puppet to work, thanks to your great tutorials. But I am not clear on how to add a background to the resulting scene.Do I add this to the puppet itself as a layer? How do I label this layer? Does it matter if I use either Illustrator or Photoshop?Or do I need to combine the encoded media file with a background at a later stage? How? What application do I use?
I'm just starting out. I try to do an adobe tutorial. I make my puppet. I import my puppet. ALL the artwork including the background is transparent. Before I've even sent up my arms, legs, etc on my puppet. I know it's going to be a quick, dumb fix but I am super frustrated trying to figure this out on my own. I'm following the tutorial exactly but the presenter doesn't encounter this problem.Once again, just starting out. No clue what I'm doing. I know my photoshop, illustrator, and a little bit of flash from years ago but literally zero experience with Character Animator.
How come PS does not recognize the face of the standard PS puppet from CH (using face-aware liquify)? Its not the color of the blue face, I changed that without result (getting bue in the face). If I draw some very childish face, even that is recognized as a face.ThanksMaarten
I am working in Character Animator. All layers appear fine in project, but when I add to a new scene, the arms are gone. What would cause that?
Are there any complete / in depth / detailed / beginner tutorials or guides use to learn Character Animator? The tutorials on You Tube are NOT for actual beginners. The tutorials on the Adobe pages are NOT for actual beginners.Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
I've made some changes in PS and saved the .PSD the changes are not reflected on Character Animator puppet and the scene will not load. I'm getting these error codes.
Hi! How would you go about animating two characters where different parts of the characters are in front/behind one another—for instance, a girl on her dad’s shoulders. Her body is behind his head, but her hands and legs cross over the front of his body. Is there any good way to handle that with the puppets?
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm just out of college and working at a company, using Character Animator for the first time. I've used things like Flash and Blender in the past in regards to animation. First I should say I absolutely love the program and found it very easy to get the hang of it.I have a character in my animation that I want to cross the screen, then come back to the center, and grow in size. The character in question is an insect that goes from being in the "distance" to flying up close to the camera. When I use things like the transform behaviour on the puppet and change its scale, it just changes the scale of the puppet throughout the project, rather than in selected clip that I want it to.On a side note, I am using the dragger tool to move my character around the screen and record it. I have the After Move set to Hold in Place. So while I record it, it works beautifully. However, when I go on to record the
First, my apologies for not being a question, but I did not find a space to share the work.I'm starting a channel on youtube and I want to insert several animations using Character Animator, but for now I only published this interactive video with After Effects. The character begins to appear, after drawing, from the 3 minutes and nassa much of the video.I know the sound did not look good, but I'm still sending that link for consideration. I want to insert more characters in various other situations in the progress of this channel. The link is #01 - OVERTURE EM TAPA MAIOR - YouTube I hope you enjoy and I await your opinions, criticisms, suggestions and comments in general.Thank you very muchEd Ondo - Canal Tapa
Hi.Did anyone make some "peek out from behind the wall" animation in CH? I've tried peek out test - YouTube And it was the pain. I've tried to drag the body (by draggable point on the character), it was awesome, but head didn't want to move with body, stayed at the same position +-. I've tried to make the head like draggable - nothing. Sometimes head moves with body but it scaled unproportionally (i've tried different mode with independent head -welt, hitch, free) and it looks wierd. I've tried make the head like Free, than tried to motion track in AE - bad idea. also the bad idea is to bend the body with head (head position by camera input) - you lose every control. So i've made in several steps - make an animation with small tilt of the head, animate hand, animate head turns, then animate Rotation of whole puppet, render to png, then the same with right hand. Than export to AE and also applied Position and Rotation animation.I thought about interaction with other objects, for example
Hello! I just used Character Animator for the first time at KPCC, an NPR affiliate station in LA. I'd like to start using it more for quick-turnaround news explainers like this one.I'd love your feedback! I'm fairly new to motion graphics and have been teaching myself.I think Character Animator presents so much opportunity to make news explainers that are fun and approachable. I'm excited to experiment more! Here's some background on it.
Hey,I want to use cycle layers and the walk behavior at the same time. But I can't set a keyboard trigger to the arrow key, and I can't set the walk behavior to other keys than the left and right arrow keys. One of the things that I want to achieve is letting the hands open and close while running to give the character some extra expression.Chris
I tried opening Adobe Character Animator for the first time and a error popped up saying "OpenGL setup failed". It recommended that I update my graphics driver which I did but this didn't seem to solve the problem. I have an HP computer that runs Windows 10. Right now I have a Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000. Should I upgrade to a completely different driver that is compatible with Windows 10? Would downgrading to Windows 7 help? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello.I'm working on this "mucus" character and wanted to use new walking cycles. It works quite fine, except of the head. Both eyes and mouth just do not want to move with the rest of the body....I did add the walk cycle even for the Head section, but still no positive result. There are no fixed points on the head of this character.Am I doing something wrong? Or how should I solve this problem? Thanks for help
I am getting this error. When I create a new project I get second error below.
is it necessary a webcam for character-animator?Otherwise the program will not work ?
I wish to use my older After Effects (CS6) aside from 2017 for personal and financial reasons, but when I go to import my puppet by FILE - SCRIPTS - it doesn't give me an option to import/load from ChAn? Is there a way or am I out of luck?Windows 10 PC. Fully updated.THANKS!
Hi.I've made smooth head turns via Cycle layers but... when I turn to one side - it's ok, cicle layer works, but when I turn back (to frontal) it's jump. why? I've set "forward and reverse" - nothing. So now it seems like I moving to the Left Quarter - it's awesome, Frontal - it jumps to Frontal. And if you add Profile - it will so awkward when you move from Profile to Quarter it will jump to 1st frame of Quarter (from Profile almost to Frontal without reverse on Profile) and then play Quarter to the end. It looks like not head turn from Profile to Quarter but like "no" sign jump movements. ! Is there no playback animation in CH now?And also Eyelids, pupils stopped work when I applied smooth head turns via Cycle layer ((( only In frontal vew it worksBut mouth, autoblink work perfect.I've tried to turn head with camera, keyboard triggers - the same. Yandex.Disk here is the part of my characters with all of these problemsAlso I've noticed, when I head with keyboard trigger -
Hi there! I built a puppet off the Maddy template and the walk cycle looks good except that my puppets hands are dragged really low in the walk cycle. Any ideas? I've tried untagging and retagging the arms a zillion different ways (no elbow, yes elbow, no wrist, yes wrist, no sticks, yes sticks, draggable, not draggable) and I tried moving the hips and waist tags up and down (thinking that maybe they determine how low the arms go)- nothing has worked! Are you able to explain how the walk cycle interprets the arms so that I can figure this out?
