So I just updated my software and when opening a project I'm working on...all my Dynamic links are gone. Is there an easy way to relink these MANY files? thanks
I installed the NDI for Adobe protocol to push to a video source. When I opened Character Animator, chose Preferences, and Live Output, no sources show up on the list. I installed this on my desktop at home without issue, but this one seems to be causing problems. I looked at the requirements, which I met except for Gigabit connection. I rectified that by connecting a USB dongle with GB Ethernet in this machine (on a USB 3.0 port). This made no difference. Is there a setting somewhere that allows me to identify and see the NDI options in Character Animator?
I found a weird behavior when scaling my puppets, in the Scene panel.I have a simple character, with some arms attached to the torso with the staple tool.If I set the attach style to "Hinge" and turn on "Warp Independently", the arms won't scale in the Scene panel. I set the scale to 30%, let's say, and the arms remain huge, while all the other parts scale properly. If "Warp Independently" is off, the size is fixed, but they are not independent from the body mesh anymore. Is this supposed to be like this? I can't find how this could be usefull in some way.thanks!
Hi. I set up a puppet based on an earlier iteration, created in the last Beta release, where everything worked great. After I got all my hotkeys set up with this new puppet in the new Beta, I went in and added a "Head Turner" behavior -- which the previous puppet had and worked great. But this time, when I did, my arms disappeared in the Record view. The head turning works fine, but no arms in any view. Any ideas? Thanks!
I have rechecked all of my layer naming and tags.It works with some of the example files so I know my webcam input is ok. It does not respond to the mouse input either though. However, only the head tilt will respond. I get no pupil movement, eye blinks, eyebrow movement etc.It will animate the mouth when using audio.I cannot figure out what is wrong.
I note that naming convention is important when creating a character in Ps.Specific NAMES are used that are recognized by Ch and this enables particular, and appropriate, behaviors to be triggered. The Blue Man... Welcome> New Puppet from Ps... is helpful for this purpose.. as it gives a basic layer structure, but I'd like to get a full list.I found the write up, 'Artwork Preparation' useful.I've searched for a comprehensive list, but don't seem to be able to find one. I'm sure there is one here somewhere? Can anyone help please?
Hi Community,Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me.I created an Unlisted YouTube Video to explain the problem and with visuals since its hard to explain.: Character Animator Head Scaling - YouTubeThe odd scaling is mostly or all in the Y-Axis, it's hard to say for certain.I have tried changing all of the strengths from 100% to 0%, testing, and then back to normal ranges. But to no avail thus far. Perhaps I missed one, or a different setting. My only added triggers are for keyframe cycles and head turning.
After rigging my character, I was able to get a good walk cycle with the arm movements, initially, but now the arms have remained stationery. When I rig new characters, there is still no arm movement. I'm not sure what I'm missing.
Anyone see this before? Using Beta 6 (x161). I have the arm set to draggable. Two sticks for upper and lower arm. And a stapled arm. First time I've seen this happen. The source for the puppet is in Illustrator.
Maybe I'm missing something but for some reason i can't seem to get the walk left and walk right to work with my puppet. even after tagging each profile accordingly.I have three profile on my puppet. Frontal/Walk right/walk left. The walk right profile works well (solo) but whenever i tag the other profiles it doesn't seem to work. Note, i tried as much as possible to use the "maddy" test puppet as a guide for this but. no luck for me. I even read another user having trouble with same issue. Still no luck for me.Im not sure if those screen shots will be able to help identify anything I'm missing.Note: If you need a copy of the puppet file, just shoot me an email @ Mcinnisst@gmail.com and ill send over a copy to take a look on whats going on in the structure. Thanks in advance Message was edited by: Steven Mcinnis
Hi,Every time I scale my puppet it gets very disfigured and all the layers that recreate the puppet separate. Is there anyone who can help me resolve this problem.
Hi,How can I move the character's mouth by importing a file with previously recorded voice?best regards
Hey everyone! I'm very excited about the new update with the walk behavior, and about CH getting better and better. Before CH I used the AE plugin called duik, and I miss one thing I had there: bone points where I could parent something to. My plan is to do the full body movement of a character in CH, and then animate the weapons and other objects in AE. It would be amazing if I could just attach things to the hands. Is this possible? Otherwise it's a request for the next update. Thanks for all the support and the activeness on this forum!
Hello,I'm trying to get animation composer to recognize something other than my webcam on my monitor. Is there something I can do to get the app to recognize another camera that's connected to my computer? Do I need Blackmagic Ultrastudio or something similar to get the app to see it? Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.
HiI have a bird that I am trying to get to walk. But it won't walk:)I think the problem is the way I structured the "folders"in the body. But try as I might I can't get it to work. I have looked at the Walkbot puppet, and I wish there was a way to download the associated ai file -- that would really help.I will try to upload both files here, but I have a feeling the form software won't all ai and puppet uploads -- or zips. So if I can't upload it directly to the forum I'll set it up on dropbox if I can.UPDATE: Here's the public link to my dropbox folder with both the ai files and the character files: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vul6vyrjzb13c9a/AABODr-T6VGud4Yu1PgJfPjca?dl=0In the meantime does anyone have an actual ai file for walkbot.puppet?Best,Rowby
Hi All - I've been running Adobe Character CC Beta 5 (x141) on OS X El Capitan.I created a puppet in Illustrator (a dude), which I successfully brought into Character and tinkered with over a few days. Everything is going smoothly with the head tracker for that guy. I recently duplicated that Illustrator file, and edited all the layers to create a ballistically similar character, this time a girl. The main difference between them is that she has long hair in the front and the back (around 3 different pieces). When I brought her into Character, I seemed to duplicate the steps I had followed to get the guy set up (enable Head Turner on the Head layer, add dangles to the necessary elements aka the hair, etc). But her face gets seriously warped, even though the guys face doesn't. Considering they have the _exact_ same face, the only culprit can be the hair, right?Any help would be appreciated on this one. Thanks xo. Rigging:These weird warps! But then the guy version is totally fine:
I am having a problem with Character Animator crashing on start up. I will go to load the app, both regular or as admin and instantly after the load screen it crashes.Windows 10 64 bitNvidia Quadro K620All my other software works correctly as far as what I use in the Adobe Suite. I've updated my graphics driver. At this point I do not have a microphone or camera hooked up or available to me. I would not think that should cause problems, I plan to get those after I explore about the program a bit. I've created a zip file that contains all the data I could get my hands on in regard to this problem. The only thing I could not generate was the crashdump report, but I included some Event Viewer files. I hope you can help me solve this conundrum, Id really like to start exploring and making cool things with Character Animator. Here is a link to the zip fileDropbox - CharacterAnimator_VIP-Crash Files.zip
Has anyone else had this problem and are there any solutions? All of a sudden my character is not visible and it is doing something very strange with color blocks?! I restarted Character Animator and I also restarted my computer, same issue. Please help! I don't want to loose my files and have to rig everything over again!
I'm Jordan and I just learned about Character Animator from a friend. It will download but no matter what I do I keep getting a window that says The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application. I am using windows 8.I think that I found the problem. I do not think it is compatible with windows 8 so I will try to get windows 10 and see what happens.Message was edited by: Jordan Riney
Since this is my first puppet, I want to use a template puppet. It opens in adobe character. How can I toggle it back in forth to open in photoshop to make the artworkmy own character? Is that how it works? Thanks for any help.
I'm news to Character animator and I'm having trouble with the puppets movements. Whenever I move the puppet/my head, the entire puppet moves. Here's a screenshot of my workspace.
Hi, Im just starting out with Character Animator and really enjoying it, But i've bumped into a few really annoying problems.I rig my character with fixed points, draggle points, bones, dangle bits etc. I save the project come back to it later in the day or the next day and all my rigged date has gone? and when i try to do it again none of the fixed points work and all the pivot points have jumped back to their starting point?PLEASE, its driving me a little crazy what am i doing wrong?
Let's say it wants to pick something off the floor. How do I make him bend so that his feet stay in the same position? Thanks!
HiUpdate -- could it be because I have " Face behavior" disabled? Here's a link to the files in dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vul6vyrjzb13c9a/AABODr-T6VGud4Yu1PgJfPjca?dl=0I'll be providing a dropbox link to my files shortly.I am trying to use the mouse to control the eyeballs -- rather than using the webcam. But I am having two problems.1) The eyeballs bounce2) The eyeballs go out of the iris.I have Left pupil range selected. I'm sure with some fine tuning that will fix the eyeballs going out of their iris. Not sure how to keep the iris from bouncing. Here's a link to a video screencast showing my settings and the result.https://www.screencast.com/t/4jvOYxEf4Using the latest CC 2017 April version. Thanks everyone - having fun with Character!Rowby
I just recently started on getting my head to turn in Ch. Im running into an issue where in scene mode my head seems to be defaulting to Left Quarter instead of Frontal. As for layers, I have:Char Name Head Frontal Left Quarter Left ProfileI have even went into Head turner properties and turned off the camera input but it still seems to default to Left Quarter. Any suggestions??
