Whenever I make any change in my puppet in character animator, the recorded data in my timeline gets overridden and reflects the same change automatically. I don't understand why this is - the change should reflect in live input but how can it reflect automatically in data that is already recorded?
I am a composer who animates music for children. I love the Motion Library. However, I have a ton of tracks with dance movts. I cannot seem to figure out how to move them to one track. I can do it visems, by merging, but can't do it with the motion Library. Any ideas?
Hi, I'm having trouble with adobe Character animator.the camera works damn slow in Character animator, and I can't find a fix.Im on a MacBook Pro 2015 retina with 8gb ram.as a last resort I formatted my Mac and still the problem persist.it's worth to mention that after restart - camera works fine in Photo booth, but after launching Character animator, it lags again until I restart the machine.this makes Character animator totally unusable.please help!I tried to chat with adobe support but it was totally unprofessional and uncool.
My puppet disappears automatically after 5 minutes of recording. How do I make this longer? I changed the length of the scene, but this doesn't affect the puppet duration. Screenshot attached!! Thank you!
I'm scratching my head over this one. I'm rigging a new character, and I'm getting the error, "Handle tagged as left elbow (shoulder, wrist) not being used by any behaviors." I have Limb IK added to the puppet layer (for motion library) and I can't figure out what's going on. What's more, body tracking does not appear to be working and I think the two issues are connected.
Hi there! I'm trying to dynamiclly link this scene from Character Animator to After Effects but when I do the whole scene gets shifted and repeats on the other side. Any help would be appreciated, I can't find any similar issues online. Character Animator:After Effects: All the best,Tom
I'm following along okaysamurai's tutorial, and I thought I followed all the steps. However, when I imported my PSD file, the puppet did not move at all. In the video, okaysamurai's puppet immediately moved according to his head movement. Is there something off with how I structured/named my puppet? *note:-I created the art on procreate and exported as a PSD file-I've been having issues opening Character Animator. Many times it won't open and will just generate a crashfile. i made a puppet in photoshop and he has auto swap arms with the dragger behaviour only on its leader arm and the followers dont have the dragger and i tried moving its arms and they dont auto swap when i wove my mouse to the edge of the monitor then they work a little bit do you have any advice
Hello Everyone. In puppet maker I m trying to customize blobby. but there is no way to deselect the background . When I try to generate and inside recording choose transparent background then also nothing happened. I need this puppet animation on transparent background, what am I missing.
At the main page of Animator, I can see about 33 characters/puppets thumbnails, so I can see what they look like. But there are dozens of other puppets in the "Template" folder. How can I see what they look like without having to import each and every one? Why they are not shown with the other 33 in the main page? Thank you,Carlos33 puppets are shown 89 puppets in the folder
Playing with my original toon and adding more stuff to him. He's looking really good except for his default mouth is showing up over his other mouths when I trigger them. I'm using the same set up as the "Dave" puppet. Below is the set up. My triggers work great I just can not figure out why the neutral mouth want go away when I trigger the other mouth sets.
hallo everyone...Does anyone know how to make the front and back hair connected to the head in an independent position, because I want the limbs to work properly. Actually it works when I don't make the head independent, but I want the head to move instead of the hips, can anyone help me? Thank You
Hello there, hope you will be doing great. I have an issue with character rigging for walk. When I rig the character and use arrow keys for walking, the body of the character stretches down weirdly. Please let me know how can I fix it. I am using adobe character animator 2022.
Hello, I know I found and old question accordingly my question. But do you have an solution in the actual version. I have a question about the puppet. I animate the puppet with the mouse and in the end I always have the starting position. I can't continue with this at the last position of the limbs. What can I do? Thank you very much Jens

I'm stuck: I created a new cycle layer viseme for my "M" sound (+ b, p...) When my puppet gets a "mmmm" sound, the first mouth shape appears for 1 frame, then the second mouth shape for 1 frame, and then the mouth disappears altogether for as long as the sound lasts. Is there a way for the first mouthshape to take up the majority of the sound duration, and then the second mouth shape to trigger at the end for a frame? At worst, at least not have a blank mouth for the majority of the duration?Am I using this wrong and 1 frame per mouth shape is the unalterable default and I have to insert more frames?
Hi there everyone. I was having an issue with my adobe character animator project for an assignment. Actually, I have a whole 6-minute length clip that includes multiple puppets(3 to be exact). The problem that I am facing is that after every time I do a small edit such as adding a recording of behavior or engaging/disengaging a behavior, the whole scene goes back to the beginning of the whole scene. To be more specific, it stays at that time period though all the characters return to their original positions with the audio still going on their actions are being done in that reset position. This is highly inefficient for me as I have to do recordings, and edits for the whole 6 minutes, and going back to the start and watching the whole thing repeatedly until I reach my position is highly time-wasting. Please if you know how to solve this issue, kindly do let me know. It will be a great help.
Hi, i am making a live class by using photoshop and charater animator and i am having some difficulties trying ti figure out something.As you can see in the pictures i attached when i select the scene called emotions i change it by using a swap set trigger which is 2 but when a select finn the fish the emotion trigger returns to it default swap set i tried seperating them by using normal triggers for the emotions but when i select finn they disappear.I know i can set the background(emotions) as sepearte psd files but i want them to be in one psd file beacuse im going the extend it and i dont want to have to many psd files .I tried my best to explain the situation i hope you understand what im trying to say thank you
My artwork keeps getting distorted by walk, motion library, etc.Everything rigged according to Okay Samurai tutorials.Frontal view has two fixed points for feet on the ground (also distrorting artwork even when standing still), and I made two quarterside views for walking and dancing.I have not used anything more than Limb IK, Head&Body Turner and Walk. All points also tagged according to Okay Samurai.Layers are distributed in the following order:Character: -Head: >Frontal >Quarterside Left >Quarterside Right -Body: >Frontal >Quarterside Left >Quarterside Right
Hi, I have tried exporting the clips from Character Animator via Alpha and also PNG sequence. When I import to AE or Premier Pro with 1920 x 1080 setting, the clip is not blurry and not sharp as in Character Animator. Does anybody know the workaround and guide for this issue?

Aloha All,I am rigging a character and am having issues with the mouth tags. I've created a mouth group and all work except for the "W-Oo" tagged layer. The behaviours work fine for all the other mouth layers but I can't get the "W-Oo" to be recognized by the behaviours. I've tagged it properly and checked everything I can think of to check. Can anyone advise me on what to check or identify the problem?Mahalo!
I've looked at the Character Animator tutorial titled: Building a puppet from scratch. It begins by importing a Puppet- Blank Face Template. Where can I find this template? Is there a blank body template also? I want to create my own character but need help starting the process. Thank you for your assistance.
I watched the Getting Started in Adobe Character Animator CC video but the blank face in the video is not in one of the choices for edit. Is it still there or was it taken out?
I finally deleted an old version of media encoder to free up space. I have the updated version. When I attempt to export a puppet to encoder, character animator suggests that media encoder is not installed. The quick export option would be a work around but I need the alpha layer transparent in order to take the puppet into after effects to interact with the background. Please help!
