I created my own puppet and it worked. When I reopened the Ch file, all the Ai assets are missing and I have color bars for everything. Nothing has been deleted. How do I get Ch to see the files? All the recording are still there. They are just animating the color bars representing missing elements.
Hi! A few minutes ago I could see, blend and move keyboard triggers for my puppet and then these grey bars showed up, and I can no longer see or edit them on the timeline, they just show hreyed out under each take like this. Does anyone know how to get them back?
First, no files were moved. That's the first thing folks are going to ask, I'm sure...But when I opened a project I'd been working on for days, I get the following error, which I cannot interpret. And the record screen looks jumbled. (see attachments for screenshots)According to some responses I have received on Facebook groups, this is a common issue that has driven folks away from CA. Please help/respond...?
Ao instalar a nova versão começou a dar esse erro. Não consigo trocar a pasta ou acessar projetos existentes. Alguém tem alguma solução? Encontrei outras em inglês e chines mas não resolveu nada.
Hello, I am creating a simple video presentation for which I am using a puppet in Adobe Character Animator. The video is about 17 minutes long. I have figured out how to automate the lip movement based on the audio, and I see the option to automate head movement (Which works, but is a little clunky, random eye movement, etc.). But I'm wondering if there is a way to automate the arm movement. Puppet is fully rigged and I'm using Limb IK. I don't need the puppet to do anything crazy or specific, just some slight arm movement to make the character slightly more interactive. Is there an easy way to do this without recording myself moving my arms for 17 minutes? Also, is there a way to improve the result from the automated head movement feature? Thanks for your help!
Hi, I have a problem with some of the arm movements of my puppets. When transitioning between two hand positions, it flips the elbow, making the movement seem really weird and annatural. I've attached a video of this. How can I have the puppet transition more naturally beween arm positions? Those are my LimbIK settings and rigging: Thank y'all for any help!
Hi All, I have rigged my character up with all relevant tags as per tutorial videos I have watched. Checked that a '1' appears in the handles Limb IK - handles. When I add the walk behaviuor my character is just bobbing up and down. Is the order of adding tags and behaviuors relevant. I have made other characters and theyve had no issues. Also, this character is on trigger does that make a difference. Michael
Hi, can anyone help me? I'm trying to learn to use Character Animator, but when I start up the tutorials all the audio is slowed and stutters constantly making it almost impossible to hear. I have checked the playback speed, restarted the computer and looked for possible sioftware conflicts, but nothing is working and I don't know where to begin. Could anyone offer me some help?
None of my puppets in this scene have a waist handle. What does this mean? Everytime I switch from Rig to Record this pops up on my screen. I know that it IS telling me exactly what I need to change. I just can't decipher it.
Hi,I have a problem with the arm rigging of one of my puppets. There are two points where the elbow flips as seen in the attached video. It's supposed to turn the first time but not the second. How can I make that happen and why does it turn twice anyways? Here are my Limb IK settings and arm rigging Thanks for any help!
Hello, I am new to character animator. I had someone on fiverr make the character and I am trying to import it into character animator so that I can animate it. the file is a zip and there is a chproj file that I am having toruble importing.
I'm working on this character where I have built 6 different layers to create a swap set. I had the character working with some nice dynamics using just the one arm layer but it not letting me move the arm and was clicking from the first layer to the last and staying there and not letting me move it. I removed the dynamics to help simplifiy it down to what I thought was the minimal amount needed based on what was done with the Wampler sample rig. Sadly I'm still I'm getting the same result. I did watch this tutorial from Okay Samurai already.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzXKAJMcCLk Hopefully someone out there has some ideas on how to help. Andrew Larson
Hi,I'm currently rigging a puppet that has a cane in one hand and was wondering how I can pin down the lower end of the cane to the floor, while the top keeps being connect to the hand, even when the body is moving (not as in walking, just slight movement while talking). Right now no matter if the cane layer is independent or not, outside or inside the arm group, pinned down or not, it still moves with the body, including the lower end. Any help/rigging tips would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!@oksamurai "Stick" is the cane here.
Hello! I have spent almost 30 hours rigging this character. This is my first time with character animator, and I think I chose something very complicated to start. I managed to turn the head to 3 different positions. I also have the body in 3 different positions. She can walk right and left, she hace face tracking as well. But when she walks, it looks bad! the body goes up and down, heel and toes completely deform the shoe. and when the face bounces you can see the neck behind the face that shouldn't be seen. I have tried everything, I have watched videos and videos and can't manage to make it work properly! I have no clue what the problem is, is giving me a headache. Can someone help me? what do I need to do for this to work properly! ;-( I'm attaching a video and screenshots. If someone would be kind enough to help me!! Thank you!
Hi all, New to Adobe Character here but I started my own character and everything works fine until I choose some of the poses and the mouth gets weirdly misplaced. Any idea of how to fix this issue? The mouth looks fine when happy, unsure, scared, etc. but not when sad, angry, worried.
Greetings! I'm new to Character Animator and Premiere Pro and am still going through a bit of a learning curve (many thanks to Okay Samurai for the turorials!), but just wanted to share the first act of my project, which I just uploaded to my non-monetized YouTube channel.https://youtu.be/EJfC0qCo-KkSince I am drawing-challenged and am not familiar with using Photoshop, default puppets were used for the project, with only minor adjustments made on my end.Feedback: Apologies if this was already noted, but after the 2023 upgrade, the Chibi built-in puppet seems to have been modified such that they have fewer limb movements available (specifically, it's hard to have it bend at the elbow). If anyone can provide dummy-proof steps on how to fix this in the rigging, it would be greatly appreciated! Finally, could someone pleae confirm whether this would be the appropriate forum for trouble-shooting custom rigging? Or refer me to the appropriate venue?Thank you!
After using the head turner movement my body dissapears can anyone help me with this please?
I'm having an issue in Character Animator whereby the head/neck of my puppet warps when I try to use the walk behavior. If I make the head warp independent, then it stops warping, and the walk behavior works as expected. But when the head is warp independent, it detaches itself from the body whenever I use camera input. Here is a video that demonstrates the issue:https://www.dropbox.com/s/an4uy6ev1m3dep7/PuppetWalkIssue.mov?dl=0Any help resolving this is greatly appreciated!Thank youoksamurai
I seem to have the worst luck with my scenes staying consistent with the new updates. With 22.5, my puppets' rigging was rendered unusable and now in 23.0, their dragger behaviours are all over the place.I didn't change anything about their dragger behaviours or X positions and no error messages seem to be appearing. As you can see in the first photo, before updating, I had them all looking like they were seated. Now they look like this. I rerecorded the Dragger behaviour to have one of them sit again and it reverted back to these stretched legs.In the second picture, after editing a puppet in Illustrator, he's disappeared from the frame entirely.I'm a little frutrated because I can't import these scenes into Premiere Pro without the new update. I could export them and import them that way, but having them linked while I'm still editing is obviously more convenient. What do I do?
Need help. By default, i want the head to face sideview and name it fontal, but when I click on record tab the face shows quarter view. can anyone help?
After adding multiple views for bodies and smooth head turns to my character, it became necessary to add certain behaviors, such as Limb IK, Face and Eye Gaze for each views. Now I have so many Behaviors to manage during recordings. I wish there are ways to organize and control them in bulk. Here is my wish list:Ability to change the listing orders of behaviors by mouse dragging.Ability to create folders to organize behaviors visually.Adding arm/disarm button on top so users can arm or disarm all behaviors at once.Pop up menu for Arm/disarm selected behaviors at onceAbility to "merge" multiple behaviors of the same type so they will be controlled simultaneously. This also helps the list to look more organized.
Fairly new to Character Animator.Got my puppet redesigned and am trying to get the 350 motions to show up, like explained in the tutorial. Can someone give me the simple steps to make them show? Right now, as I click on the motion library my puppet just stands there. I have the record panel open.Hope someone is willing to help me. Thanks!
All of my puppets are upright but when I add Motion Library they slouch to one side and look like they are about to fall over. This tilting to one side is exxaggerated in any movements I add. I can adjust slightyly using Transform parameters but that has other unwanted implications. What am I missing here? In the following examples the only change I made was adding Motion Library (2,3) and then changing the Motion in the dropdown list.1- puppet with no Motion Library2 - puppet with Motion Library in "Standing" pose3 - puppet with Motion Library and "None"
Hi, When I sync the audio to the recording it only works when there is no movement at all in the puppet. If I change the position, audio sync stops working and the mouth stays at the default smile. Is there any way to fix this? I want my puppet to move while talking at the same time.
How do I ZOOM IN ON CH record screen and also pinpoint the character to zoom in on?I looked on youtube and was told to hit CONTROL and use my mouse. Didn't work.Thanks.
