Hi there, I have very annoying Substance painter behaviour.When painting I do a stroke every split of a second. Naturally.. Each time I initiate stroke, I have a click animation on my brush cursor.How to switch it off? Anyone knows? Cheers,DS
I'm shopping for a Substance 3D workstation. On the system requirements page I noticed this: Integrated GPUs are not supported. Does that pretty much rule out laptops? Is there a full list of compatible hardware somewhere that I can check? Any advice on shopping for a Substance 3D workstation appreciated. Thanks!
Hi I understand that you can adjust the frontal and rear distance for each mesh...? As different meshes might require different values in order to get a clean bake...? What's the correct process for this? Usually, I have more than one texture set (as is the case for my current project), so I've assigned two different material IDs. As a result, that's all I get in the Texture Set List - 2. But I would like to assign different values to different meshes as some bake better at 0.01 whilst others 0.1. What's the best way around this? Thanks
After each launch, the files are corrupted,because of this, some functions of the program do not work.I use Steam before each launch to check if the missing files have been downloaded.
Good day. I have a student license for Substance programs. It has been extended until 2022, but Creative Cloud doesn't have it. It is only displayed on the Substance website. Also I have files with keys. Can you please tell me how to renew the license on the Creative Cloud website? Thank you.
Hi there!I'm using the new Adobe version of Substance Painter 3D. I'm working on a project where I want to have subsurface scattering. So I've enabled it in my camera/video settings, the shader I'm using (asm-metal-rough) and set the scattering color to "scattering color channel". As soon as I do this, the diffuse (base) color disappears off of all of my texture sets in Painter, including ones that don't even have scattering channels. The only way to get them back is to turn off subsurface scattering.Is anyone else experiencing this bug? I can approximate the results I'm looking for if I use the Redshift - Rayleigh scattering with default albedo, which works, but as soon as I make the color source my scattering color channel, my base colors all disappear. Help? Is there some minimum system requirement I'm lacking? I have the reqs for the general application. The last screenshot is showing that if I turn off the scattering color channel, there's no color at all on my mate
I had to make proportional changes to my mesh but I did not change the UVs at all. So I want all the texturing in my SP project to retain its current 2D/UV space positioning however it gets all moved around when I update the mesh regardless of wether I check to reporject strokes or not.
I want to use matcap in shader, it needs view space normal, but in documents I can't find any matrix from world space yo view space.So, how to calcute it to use matcap?
When I try to brush hard surfaces the preview of the hard surface disappears once I remove the alpha channel of the brush. I have tried to toggle the cursor modes, but nothing changes. Preview with original alpha channel: Once I remove the alpha channel: I have tried toggling the cursor modes as well I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Hi. I'm just wondering why when I bring in my normal map, it doesn't align with the uv map? I tried to bring the normal map into the fill layer, but when I try to move it, everything becomes warped for some reason. Help?

Hi allI have some issue wtih the mash. As you can see some part of 3d model is disappear. Im using SP v7.2.1, macmin BigSur (latest version).
I have had some reoccurring issues when baking in substance painter(bake by name) and I am curious as to what I am doing wrong, many of my details simply aren't baking, and I am also experiencing other issues and visual problems. While attempting to bake my high poly model onto my low poly model, I've noticed this "error" message with every time I baked. What is this and how do I fix it? I don't know anything that could possibly have the same name as I named each textureset and model differently. Thanks for the help!
Hello guys,I am a student and I facing baking broblems in substance painter. When I created a radio in 3ds max and go for baking in subatance painter it show me some unwanted lines and sharp edges as you see in below images. I don't understand why this happening I made 2 or 3 models and this happening in all my models. Please help and reply as soon as possible I am waiting for it.I also attach my .fbx files. ( this is not a full model)
Hi folks, I created a material in Substance Sampler from a photo, then shared that material into Substance painter and applied it to a mesh. The material looks totally different in SP, it loses a great deal of quality and takes on a plasticky look. How can I get the same quality in SP that I'm seeing in Sampler? Thank you!
Hi.I completed texture in substance painter on all things seem ok. but when I export texture for Unity or PBR Metalic Roughness, I seen some strange stain on some part of my model. also in unity I put compression to None, but also I can see this problem. when I disable Normalmap, stain will be removed. but I can't see any problem on normal map.
I am trying to add a label on a clothing . it has its own texture. If there is a seperate mesh for the label on my 3D Model then it places with it is own texture on that mesh, but if there is not a seperate mesh then the image that i add takes the background texture. As an example lets say the clothing has ribbing texture. if i am adding an image on it, it works like stamping and takes that ribbing texture. Is there a way adding an image with it is on texture when there isnt seperate mesh for it? I tried masking it but it didint work because it is a polygon masking so i couldnt select an area on the clothing with a perfect square to add the label in it.Is there a way to solve this issue?Thanks!!
Hello,I would like to know if it's possible to use the projection tool with an alpha map?I'll use it with color only it work great but if I'll add a roughness it's make a shiny square over and not the decal like with color only.It would be really good, if my substance that I am trying to paint in projection mode, allowed an alpha channel. It would work in the same way that the stencil does in brush mode, but be aligned with the projection material. Unless there is some way of doing this already that I'll forgot to do?How I'll can solve this problem?Thanks by advance for the advice.Best regard
Hello,I would like to know if there is a way to keep the size of my Udims exports from my 3D software?Genre 512x512 for 1, 1024 for the other ect.Because each time putting the sizes back in substance is tiring and wastes a lot of time.Keeping the (1001_name_size) anotation will also be cool.Is it possible?Is this planned?Thanks by advance for your help.Best regards.
AS3DP version 7.2.1 on WindowsUpon updating to the most recent version, the program stops responding every time I right click or click the display settings. Both times, It seems to be attempting to open a menu, because a black rectangle pops up. I am also getting a white screen and immediatly unresponsive on startup and this seemed to depend on the day for a while, but I have been getting it every time. I reported this issue months ago, but it has been more frequent and has gotten in the way of work. I found only a temporary workaround was to delete the program from my registry and/or run as administrator. This is the only way I have been able to run the program currently.
Hi We have several licenses of Substance Painter running on CentOS 7.7 these are on the legacy website, we need to purchase another license which needs to be done via Adobe. To test that everything works before purcahsing another license I thought I'd test with a trial version but I can't get the software to download, all I get is a message saing that you need to update your OS. We are running CentOS 7.7 which is higher than the requirements, is there any way that I can download the RPM, this is holding up our artists. Thanks
No offense but why would someone change those logos which are emblematic to the software to be conformed with the Adobe letters type which offers no originality no creativity and no identity? Honestly they all look alike and I struggle finding them PS, PT, SD, MA whatever looks like crap.
Hi , as it says; I'd like to know how I can assign different shader models to my individual texture sets using the texture set settings [at least i think thats something to do with it;)? so im after the flow of how to assign a pbr metal rough shader to one texture set and a [different shader] e.g pbr with alpha blending [for glass] to another texture set and its mesh.. thanks in advance. D
