Hi all, So I purchased a perpetual indie license for both Substance Painter and Substance Designer some years ago and had been renewing the subscription for as long as I could. It appears the updates for those products will sunset in October of this year. That all makes sense. However, my question is, with the update to the newer Substance Painter 3D and Substance Designer 3D, can I update to these as part of my subscription and still keep them perpetually through whatever release comes by October? Also, if I'm not keen on this new iteration can I simply install the last version before the update to 3D and continue on my perpetual way assuming I don't like the new version? Thanks.
I have had a subscription for Substance Suite for the last 14 months. My work necessitates that I use the same version of Substance Painter on my home machine that my company uses, which is 2020.2.2. Which leads me to the following questions: 1) When I am eventually forced to transfer to the Adobe platform, will there be any way for me to keep using version 2020.2.2? 2) If I purchase a perpetual license via Steam, does it currently enable access to older versions, such as 2020.2.2? Hello All,Have anyone faced an issue whereby, working with substance painter on a remote desktop connection. when closing the remote connection, and connecting back, substance painter will close/crash without any error messages, is this normal? thanks,

Newbie question. I am exporting FBX from Medium. When I load into Substance Painter the model is one big mesh, all the layers are gone. I check the texture set list and there is only the default material. If I import the same model into Cinema 4D all the layers are present and I can add material to each of them. No doubt it is my error but I can't for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong in Substance Painter. Any help appreciated.
Hi there,I'm fairly new to painter. I've used it a few times. I've used the Tri-Planar projection previously with no issues. Here I have 3 rectangle shapes, very basic. They are cut into more that one UV, so i need to use tri planar to even out the wood grain. As soon as I chose the tri planar from the drop down, it just removed the material, and the mesh turned back to white again.There is not an error code, and nothing in the log. I double checked to make sure all my UV's were facing the same direction , and they are.Does anyone have a thought as to what I've done wrong? - thank you for your help.
I'm getting a map misalignment when I try and display my Substance Baked Maps on the model in Marmoset. One of the maps (the ammo pouch) reads just fine as you can see in the image file but I fail to understand how that works when the majority don't. I've just inserted the normal map as an example but the other read the same. I thought maybe the issue originates from when I made the UV's in Maya, but I didn't change my methods in any way so can't understand what I did to encourage a differing outcome. Can I ask what you think I've done wrong this time?
Could anyone tell me the procedure for upgrading my current Painter subscription to the Substance 3D collection. I don't want to have both my Current Painter sub AND the 3 D collection sub.
I have a glass material and an emissive material beneath it, and it doesn't shine through the glass and only appears black when it's being rendered. You can see that it is working at the bottom (there's an opening on the model), so I'm pretty confused.
Hi. I'm painfully new to Substance P, so please forgive what may be a silly question. When I load my 12 part character .fbx model into SP in appears whole in the window but there is only a single texture in the 'Texture Set List' Everything is on one big map. Where am I going wrong?
Hi, I'm trying to create a texture for a character that goes from a crystal, to an intermediate point with rock underneath the crystal, and then to solid rock only.Something like this photo which is an ice covered shield, but still has part of the shield visible under the ice.Any help or tutorial that you could recommend would be of great help, thank you!
I'm working on a face model that will be used in my game.Players are able to choose the color of their skin color in my game, so I want the head to match the skin color they choose, I don't want the skin color to be baked into the textures. Since this prevents me from changing the color in my game engine. I'm having a problem, I can't seem to figure out how to not render a base color when I export the textures. Even when I disable any fill layers it then has a grey fill layer baked into the textures that I can't modify. I tried adding an op layer, but then it affects all the other details on my mesh Is there a way to have it so the fill layer can be -1 on opacity while still preserving all the other details? any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

My Hard Surface normal stamp is missing from the Cursor. I have full cursor preview enabled, and still no visual of the stamp. Any and all help is much appreciated.Thank you
I'm trying to render transpatent plastic material.So I'd like to put plastic IOR value in IRAY renderBut IOR parameter is stuck within 0~1 range and can't put value over it.also in the past I remeber I could access Scatter value in this refraction tab.but this parameter is missing, gone.Is it because I made wrong set up or is it issue of this new update?I double checked It's PBR-Metal-Rough-with-alpha-Blending shader.
HelloHave been working on a file for a month or so, saved it yesterday evening for the last time, and now today it crahes substance painter on open. Auto Save done earlier crashes. A early version done 20 days ago crashes. (and din't crashes before, since I closed it, opened it to keep working).Have tried to open simple file and they don't crash. File is pretty heavy and a bit messy, or can it be besause I imported Bitmaps to the shelf yesterday evening?Also I gat update avaible message this morning on startup, but cannot upgrade since my hardware is too old.Any advices vey much welcome, I don't have backups of this work.
Im new to Substance Painter so this might be a easy fix but I cant find it.My baked mesh maps seem to get bugged every time I bake, I am Importing it from blender and I have tried the following- Ensured both models are in the same position- Recalculated Normals- Applying a ShrinkWrap Modifier to the Low Poly mesh so it sticks to the high polymeshTIA 🙂
Hey guys, when loading Painter today I found that while scrolling through smart materials, the software crashes (repetitaly). I updated my graphic card drivers, tried clearning out my custom smart materials, and tried loading without even having a model in the engine ie. blank project after starting. None of those fixed my issue. CC says that SP is up to date as well. Does anyone else have this issue or a fix? I submitted a bug report as well. Thanks
Hello,In the output directory tab of the texture export, after I have chosen my file, it puts a slightly odd line:> html> table with = 480 .... my good path ... tableI have attached 2 screenshots to show you.The file line, even if it is weird, is good (the pop-up above shows me the right way) and it exports well where it is needed. It's just disturbing.Thanks by advance for the explanation.Best regards
Hello,I need you because I have big problems with my Substance (2021 and 2020) bough on Steam on december, this is a perpetual licenceThe soft doesn't lauch everytime and to solve this problem, I have to go the the registry editor and delete Adobe and Allegorithmic files in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER This is my only "solution" for the moment (find on substance Website) but afeter using Substance for a few minutes, it stop working and crash with a simple Right clic...My Nvidia Geforce has the Pilote Studio 462.59Can someone help me ?Thank you very much in advance Mélanie

Hi everyone.I have an issue with painting non-square textures.My setup:I layed out a UV shell across 1 V-tile and 4 U-tiles in Maya. So, a 1:4 ratio e.g. 4096 x 1024Then scaled it along the U axis to fit the 1:1 UV space and exported.I bake the map with a res of 4096x1024 and set the Texture Set Setings to 4096x1024 resolution aswell, so the baked map displays correctly.Now for the issue.When i paint on a layer or layermask, it will paint a distorted stroke of whatever brush i use.. Pretty much a 1:4 ratio stroke. It becomes very inacurate and unpredictable.I can solve this by setting the Texture Set Settings to a 1:1 ratio e.g. 4096x4096.This will distort the baked map itself though and once i set it back to 4096x1024, all strokes are messed up heavily.So, what am i overlooking here ?
Hello! I signed up for a monthly payment with Adobe.But! My mac is too old to use the new version of substance painter.What should I do if I want to use the old version that I have been using for a 1year?
I can only assume that there is no longer the option to convert a subscription to a perpetual license after 12 months of continuous payment, is that correct? Is there any way at all to enable permanent access to the last (pre-Adobe) version of Substance Painter?
I've been experiencing a lot of compilations since the last update.Because there are now 2 versions of Substance: Adobbe CC Substance and Substance. Substance no longer works properly. I want Adobe to offer my Substance account in my Adobe CC now for free. When I download textures from Substance Source, they only load in an old Substance version. I'm using the latest version now. That's not where the textures load. This situation really sucks.
