in a very recent post, Nancy suggested using FancyBox to solve a lightbox problem. In a discussion a while ago she had spoken of the alternative of a Bootstrap modal.I am updating our website: dominiquebello.com to make it responsive, using Bootstrap. The original website uses an earlier version of FancyBox, which Nancy helped me get working.Any quick thoughts on whether I should use the new version of FancyBox (ease of use, achievement of the exact effect we got last time, etc), as opposed to a Bootstrap modal, whatever that is?ThanksJerry

I successfully installed Dreamweaver CC and purchased a subscription. However, I receive this error when I try to launch:After I click the OK button, I get another error message:I follow the instructions and try to re-launch Dreamweaver, but receive the first error again. What do I need to do get it to launch?

I have been using my DreamWeaver CS4 with my Windows 7 operating system successfully for many years. I recently have been unable to "PUT" or upload edits on my website to the server. Nothing has changed since a month ago when I was successful with this but now I keep getting the error message below (see my responses in ALL CAPS):An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. when I create a table, I add column to have vertical line dividers. I assign them to be 1 pt wide. Coding shows them as 1 pt wide. However when viewed browser, they appear wider than 1 pt. Hello,I'm having an issue uploading my website to my server. My website was created in Dreamweaver using the Bootstrap framework. I used my credentials from my Hosting Provider to connect to the server but and it worked. Now when I try viewing the website on the browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome), I don't see the changes, it takes like 30mins or more to see the changes. I clear browser cache and everything like that but I still have the same issue. I did notice in Dreamweaver on the  Connect to Server buttons has a yellow checkmark on it. Does that seem right? I thought it wassuppose to be a solid green circle. I just wanted to upload the files on the server and see the instant change. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking at my post.  I'm using the Bootstrap top-fixed Navbar as a template on my DW site.  I inserted the DW Bootstrap navbar and edited it a little bit.  Then, made it a template to use on many pages.  I added links in general links area of the navbar; they work fine on all pages.  I added links in the drop down area of the template.  The drop down toggle responds only on the template page not actually going to the links of course.  On all of the pages the drop down links do not work; while, other links on template do on the site in the browser.  Thinking I may have deleted something I needed when editing the template (removing the search form).  I double checked Jquery and Bootstrap necessary files by inserting another Bootstrap template from DW.  I received no errors that such files where missing.  I'm thinking that using a Bootstrap navbar in a DW template has limitations ?  A sequence of the code follows with

I don't know how to begin this question as this has just started to happen. I have a page layout that is linked to a template with "Lightbox" js in the <head> section of the template. I open the layout file edit and add copy and other changes and save the renamed file to my root directory. When I open the file in a browser the js does not execute. I have gone back to the code and looked at the Lightbox js and there are three incorrect path changes that were inserted when I did the save and update. I keep the page layouts in a subdir off my root directory. The Lightbox js is a subdir off the root directory. When I save the edited layout page I save it with a new name to the root directory. This has all worked perfectly for the last several years and even last week, but I am at a loss as to how and why the changes to the js paths are occurring.Background: I am not a Dreamweaver or HTM pro, but have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. I am using DW-6 as a stand alone application.

I have a very large CSS stylesheet that controls the appearance of my squarespace site.I've organized the file as much as possible and labeled it the best I could with comments. Still, navigating the document would be much easier if I could just collapse certain sections.But I'm having trouble coming up with an innocuous CSS selector I can to apply to different sections of the code just for the purpose of collapsing them. I've tried just using brackets without any selectors, but it comes up as a syntax error in squarespace.I've tried using media queries like @media only screen{ } but it seems to mess with the responsiveness of the site, even when I use the correct screen sizes.Any ideas ??Thanks!

I'm trying to install the Emmet extension. I'm using a trial version of Dreamweaver to learn on and decide if it's worth the payment vs Sublime. I keep coming back to this:"If you haven't already installed Extension Manager CC, click Help > Manage Extensions in your application to download and install Extension Manager automatically."I'm assuming I do that in Dreamweaver, but that option isn't in Help. I can only assume it isn't an option with the trial version, but something that simple would surely be first and foremost in the docs. Seriously, why couldn't a download link be available right there in the docs instead of sending me on a wild hunt, anyway? Not really enjoying this experience so far.It's buggy. I have to close out of my file and reopen it often to even type.I had to uninstall and reinstall once already.I have 2 more days of this trial. Hello All,I have the below script on each page on my website. So when I select a link to a page, the content gradually appears instead of popping up. It works as expected then I notice if I select the previous page button (all browsers), it brings me back but the content doesn't appear. I have to refresh the browser. I have heard that iframes are not supported with some browsers and I am programming also for mobile sites.I have the need to have a standard page which loads other pages into a sort-of-frame within it.I do not want to use iframes since it apparently will not work for everyone.No idea where to start - please can anyone assist me.I am using Dreamweaver CS6Thank you in advance

I have been using Dreamweaver CC 2017 to manage our web servers.  Up until recently one in particular has been a RHEL 6 web server.  I had no problems managing the site (e.g. connecting, checking files in/out, editing, etc.).  Our system administrators just upgraded it to RHEL 7.  Now when I try to map to the server and manage the site, when I enter my username/password, I get an error message stating 'username/password is incorrect'.  I can use putty to connect with the same credentials with no problem.  I have verified that my credentials are correct.  This same thing is happening on our other RHEL 7 server with the same error message.  I am able to connect and manage several other servers with RHEL 6.  Have you experienced others having problems with RHEL 7?  Is there a compatibility problem with that particular operating system?thanks

HiI reinstalled macOS, and can't get DW to sync snippets.Before that reinstallation I've been clicked sync buttons and I've set automatic sync.But now when I try, it's greyd out and it says Last sync: none. Why? All files are synced fine. Only DW snippets are missing. And Photoshop workspaces are also missing, but that's differents story.Regards

How to delete tag <!--InstanceBegin template="".....> before <!DOCTYPE html>?In .dwt template file, I placed <!DOCTYPE html> in the first beginning of source code, but the <!--InstanceBegin template="".....> automatically added before <!DOCTYPE html> and caused error in the child page. I can't update child pages with this error.   How can I remove the annoying code <!--InstanceBegin template="".....> before <!DOCTYPE html> in the child pages?

When F1 is pressed I got message "Unable to display help. Connect to the internet...".Direct access to the help URL works properly. Turning off Kaspersky Internet Security doesn't solve this problem. All FTP connections works properly. Access to the help form Photoshop, Animate etc works as well. Moreover, when I configure offline help to use instead, it also doesn't work. I'm using Windows 10 Pro but configuration guide stops at Windows 8. It could be the reason maybe.Another surprising behaviour appears when I click Help / Dreamweaver Tutorial or other options. They are opened perfectly but... in Internet Explorer! My default browser is Microsoft Edge. When I use any other Adobe application, all links form Help menu open with Edge, not IE !  What should I do to fix help menu?Regards,Marek

A template file I created for all my asp pages has suddenly been given an extension NavTemp.dwt.asp.  The template file and files that have the template attached will not save or update.  Older posts, address this problem by suggesting, clearing cache in Windows which I have done.  The problem continues.  This makes me wonder, can template files in DW be edited to work with asp files ?  am I only asking for problems working with asp files in DW ?  Please help with any suggestions.  Thanks for any input you may have.

Is it a bug that i can't disable the behaviour that when i type f.ex echo " it transforms it to echo "" immediately in the code editor? Same with brackets { } etc.I thought in preferences -> Code Hints -> Enable Code Hints this could be disabled. It's really annoying me. Where can i stop that behaviour?I'm on OS X Sierra.

That appears to be the default when I paste the code in without altering it. I would prefer the button on the right which is just the right size, but it isn't linked.
