I created a series of snippets for some tooltips I want to insert in a web page on a wildflower.  I started inserting them in my page, which is here:  (link to website removed by moderation, as not relevant to problem).In the middle of this process, Dreamweaver closed on me.  When I reopened Dreameaver, the snippets panel was still there, with my snippets listed.  However, the trigger key no longer responded.  The insert button did not respond either.  I am now unable to use my snippets to create the tooltips. Please help!

I have an image I would like to make stay at the top of the screen as I scroll down the web page, but I can't figure out how to do that. Can someone help me out?

I'm trying to transfer some of my code from another html editor I've been using to create a website to Dreamweaver. Is there a way to open them in Dreamweaver and save them as a Dreamweaver file? Will it work if I just open it in Dreamweaver?

I've been using Chris Pederick's great Web Developer Toolbar for many years.  The latest version of Firefox Quantum has removed the APIs that allowed Chris' add-on to work.  The newest add-on version 2.0 is a shell of its former self.  Many tools & features are gone.  As Chris explained , he had no choice but to remove them. Reviews for Web Developer – Add-ons for FirefoxWhat remains of the add-on is not visible on a toolbar.  Instead, you have to dig into top level menus and hope you find what you're looking for.  I'm really, really upset by this change.  If you're like me and you use the Firefox Web Developer Toolbar, DO NOT UPGRADE Firefox and be sure to turn off automatic updates for your add-ons. If I can, I'm going to revert back to an earlier version.  This is really awful.

I’ve found an odd bug that I’m looking for help resolving. My organization uses an LMS that gives us limited ability to modify parts of the system. The home page uses tables and I can add some custom CSS to change things, but I’ve found an odd bug only when viewing the page in Internet Explorer.The home page uses tables, which we have to use, and each table width is set to a percentage. Each table has 2 rows and 3 columns and only the middle column is not set to a specific width so it’s free to change width depending on the width of the page.I’m applying border-top-right-radius to change the top right corner cells of the tables but doing so will add a thin white space between the left side of the cell and the middle cell depending on the width of Internet Explorer. As you increase and decrease the width of the browser the line will appear and disappear. If you remove border-top-right-radius the line also disappears.I setup a test file in Dreamweaver to check this out and it’s not speci

I updated to Dreamweaver 18 and the browser preview is broke. Most of the time it sits spinning and nothing shows. I close retry and sometimes it previews, but none of the links work. I try again and sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn'tWTH?? This is a vital tool, so why was it broken, or even messed with when it worked before? So i'm now repeatedly trying to fix it, and I have no idea if it's my code, or the preview. SO I have to open the file FROM THE ACTUAL BROWSER. Then it works, but it adds a whole series of steps which is stupid. Any fixes or similar issues? Mac OS x El capitan.

Can anyone refresh my memory on what the Title, Access Key and Tab Index do under the Hyperlink insert option?  What should I put in the Access Key and Tab key?Thanks

I am using CC2018. I have chosen the color theme "Light". All colors throughout are fine and the way I like them while writing code EXCEPT in one place. When I go to the DW interface itself to set up a new site, for example...SITE >NEW SITE>, the data entry field highlight color is so light that I am having trouble seeing what I am highlighting. Can I change just this one color to a darker color. I know I can customize a theme, but it is way over my head finding what to change and how. I have gotten as far as being able to copy the "Light" theme and make a "new editable" theme from it, but don't know where or what to change to make this one color darker. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a sample where the "site name" field is highlighted in the default color.Thanks

I am going to design a landing page for our e learning portal. I have experience designing websites, however, I have not designed one in a few years. And I worked primarily in tables not divs.Since it's just one page I'm not too worried. However, my knowledge of java-script is extremely limited.So wish me luck as I use Dreamweaver cc to make a masterpiece out of HTML, CSS, Java-Script and the rest.Oh yeah, and I would appreciate any rah rahs and words of encouragement and advice.

I just updated to Dreamweaver CC 2018 and I'm trying to figure out how to remove the background of the desktop/workspace. You can do it in Photoshop and Illustrator and you were able to do it in the last version of Dreamweaver, but I can't figure out how to do it in this version.

Das geht leider nicht mehr, weil die CSS und die JS-Dateien gelöscht worden sind. Die Lesson-Files sind somit nicht mehr zu gebrauchen.Das ist sicher ein Fehler, denn ich habe ja für das Buch bezahlt.Was kann ich tun?DankeMS

HelloI have installed the latest Dreamweaver CC 2017 with Mac OS 10.12.6 and I have now lost my Advanced CSS Menu Add-on. I have followed all of the Troubleshooting guides as to how to install my add-on and everything seems correct - the CC Activity Stream says that it is installed - but when I look for it in the Insert/ menu it is not there. Hi there,I've been given this html file that is for an email campaign that is being sent out via Campaign Monitor, however when I send a test to my Outlook a section of the text is being cut off and I cannot work out how to fix this.The text sections is in multiline tags, which had previously worked in the older versions of Outlook but not in 2016. I maybe using the wrong terms.  In DW CS4; I would like to send the DW site I made as a Draft without using a host.  Is there a way to send to a local server (my hard drive); send file out and the viewer able to see the end product of the site WITHOUT being able to see the code?Than ks in advance !!

I've been using Dreamweaver for many years, but hadn't started it in a few days. Now when I start it, before the splash screen goes away, Windows tells me that it has "stopped working". The event log says that dreamweaver.exe got an access violation (code 5). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing the 2017 version, deleting the cache folders under AppData, rebooting, nothing helped (the 2017 version also dies in the same way.)Earlier posts about this problem refer to a Lavasoft software, but I don't have that.I am running Windows 10 Fall Creators' Update with all Windows Updates applied. My video card is an NVidia 1050 with the latest driver. Photoshop CC works fine.Thanks for any advice.Steve

Is anyone else seeing problems working with large numbers of open files in Dreamweaver CC 2018? I had about 50 files open (all in code view) so that I could do some bulk changes. Some of the changes took. Some didn't. The files appeared to be changed, but when I reopened them the files were in a mixed state of saved and unsaved states.I don't have this problem when using DW CC 2015. I gave up on 2017. I'm thinking that, in combination with the interface "improvements" that make it hard to keep track of my cursor in code view, I ought to write 2018 off as well. Mike

Hi, I want to create a modified forums and then some but I want to know the technicality of how it can be created.  It won’t be like a regular forums template you find anywhere so this will make me have to code on dreamweaver (or on muse).  Before telling me where to find these php which program is easier and faster to complete on, dreamweaver or muse.  I just know how to code html and css well. Like on the “create post” page instead of having one text box, I would have multiple tabs for it.  Then the thread would also have multiple tabs.  So it has to be “custom” made

Hi. Recently came back to DW for coding and I'm so very pleasantly surprised. New functionality, Emmet functionality, super! But have one issue in Emmet... while "tab" expands HTML abbreviations correctly for me, what I'm used to from other code editors is then being able to tab in between tag wrappers so I can easily jump from <li> to <li> for example. But in my case tab is expanding my first content into a tag for that content, instead of going say from <li> to <li>. Is there a setting for this behavior or a temporary disable of tab expansion? Example: ul>li*5 expands correctly into:<ul>   <li>[cursor defaults to here]</li>   <li></li>   <li></li>   <li></li>   <li></li></ul>and puts my cursor at the first <li>. But say I enter<li>Element1[cursor is now here]</li>And then tab... instead of the cursor moving to the next

I am trying to link an excel spreadsheet (magazine index) to a web page so that users just see the link and not the whole spreadsheet until they click on it. They need to be able to sort and filter the information and crucially the spreadsheet needs to be accessible to an on site search engine Freefind. I have tried copying the spreadsheet (xlsx format) to our website and then creating a link from the appropriate web page and this seems to display well but  the spreadsheet doesn't feature in the search engine or in SEO tool Screaming Frog. The search engine says that the page header is Content-Type: text/plain. On advice I have tried to correct this in the .htaccess file on the website using -AddType application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet - but this just seems to corrupt the whole website. I have read about Excel on line but I don't want to display the spreadsheet on the web page because the sheet is too wide to fit without scrolling and linking to a sep

There is a good old asset panel in Dreamweaver, I can insert images, scripts, color as such just by drag & drop from panel. Now I am working on CC2018 ver. and trying to do same task, but dreamweaver gives me a full path from drive root when inserting image.I've already set local site folder and default image folder in site management panel.How can I fix the path to relative to working file(or site root), not a path of my drive!, or is this supposed to be like that?
