I am working in Dreamweaver CS6 to create a small website. I have been fighting with the menu, trying responsive image maps and image links with no success.What I'm trying now is a fluid background image, but it isn't adjusting in size correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello all, I have a question about automation. I've read that Dreamweaver has some degree of recordable functionality for tasks that must be repeated over and over, and I need some info regarding it's limitations. I love the actions you can setup in Photoshop, which greatly cut down on the repetitiveness of having to do the same thing over and over. I need a similar solution in Dreamweaver.For instance. Every day I update a HTML where I have to take lines 1-10 and move them down. Then I copy and paste those lines and put them at the top (which will be my new entry for the day) then delete the bottom few lines (which is removing the old content). It would save huge amounts of time if I could hit a button and Dreamweaver knew where to move these lines on its own (since this is the exact same steps every day and never change). How can this be done? Does Dreawweaver have this built in function like the Photoshop automated actions? If not, what kind of script can I use via a 3rd party to ac

I have had this happen to two different websites so it's important I get the answer. I am creating a newsletter to be sent out via an email broadcast, so I need to use absolute links to the css style sheet (e.g., http://www.afpneo.org/zcss.css instead of ../zcss.css). When I use the relative link (../zcss.css), the newsletter looks fine in design view. However, when I switch the link to http://www.afpneo.org/zcss.css , it actually shows and lists the styles from one of my other websites (e.g., http://www.bcfohio.org/zcss.css When I publish it, it looks fine - it shows the styles from afpneo, but I need it to show the styles when I am in design view so I can design it correctly. Has anyone found out what CodeMirror css style colors the id tag? I'd really like the id and the class names to be the same color. At the moment my stylesheet looks like an accident in a paint factory. I think I just about get something right only to add another tag or attribute and another color appears in the stylesheet, lol.#name {}.name {}Cheers Os.The color coding is not that great. There's either far to many colors or not enough, its poor in this day and age given that it's one of the most important aspects of web developer set up.

In the previous version of Dreamweaver there was a single button in the toolbar that would take a mass of code and organize it neatly into a tree based on the tags. In version 2017.0.1 Release build 9346 I can't find this one simple solution. I use it to grab a mess from one of our sites and simplify it. I have recently 'inherited' a company website from the person who used to work here and am in the process of trying to add new webpages. I can create the pages easily enough and they look fine on my computer when I load them in various browsers. I am using (as far as I'm aware) the same Dreamweaver template that was used to create the other pages that are currently live on the website. However, when I go to upload the new page through Filezilla, I get an image that looks like this when I type in the URL:Clearly the template isn't attaching properly to the new webpages I am creating. The current webpages look fine, by my new ones that I am trying to add do not! Does anyone have any solutions? Any suggestions would be great!

Hi,I have a question about transferring files. The get/put options all work, however i get this error when transferring files in DW 2015. - error occurred - An error occurred - cannot put .  An unknown error occurred.File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.Files with errors: 1Why does it try to put this . file and how can I shut it off from trying. I'm having issues with custom fonts. If you look at the screenshots you will see that the two lines of text should be different. The top one is my .stylechapter font which is Open Sans Condensed/bold/with 5px spacing and the bottom one is .stylestory which uses regular Arial/normal/no letter spacing.First question.When I change the font for the selected text, I notice that it just adds the new font to the old font (the table body tbody tr td p .stylechapter span style story) Is that normal?Second question.In this case the font is not my story font but the chapter font but a black color and with wider letter spacing, I also notice that the Font box is blank, it should show the font for that style - which in this case should be Arial.Any idea what's going on?ThanksAlan

The new preview mode is terrible.  PLEASE switch back. Is there a way to switch back?  Do not like the new "Files Icon".  Also coding is buggy in general.

Howdy, everyone! I downloaded a trial of Dreamweaver today with my pal to try and get into it, but we keep getting this issue when we're trying to search.Not sure if this is 'normal' behaviour, but it's driving us mad. What is going on that we can't search here? Why does it delete everything we type?

I've been designing my website and just put it into Dreamweaver. It looks fine everywhere except Google Chrome. I've tried deleting my cache (which was messing up the presentation in Chrome before.) I've re-done the navigation three times and looked in Photoshop to make sure there weren't any extra spaces...no luck. I'm feeling pretty frustrated and am not very techie. Any suggestions? I have 2 questions but they are related.  I have a web pages that use tables to display images. I am a novice programmer and use Dreamweaver CS5.5 and adjust image sizes with paint. I have almost no knowledge of Photoshop but do have 5.5 and just got Lightroom 3.  With Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, I did a few things with Fireworks, but I don't know a lot about programming and do not have the the money to pay someone to assist me in this task that I would think could be simple. I've been using Dreamweaver CC 2017 for a couple weeks without any problems.  After applying an update to Dreamweaver CC 2017, my Dreamweaver continually crashes after a few seconds of opening different documents.  It just disappears and is followed by the standard Apple dialog box saying my app has crashed and asks if I want to restart, reopen, submit to Apple, etc.  No other apps are running, and I don't have any add-ons installed.  I've tried restarting, zapping the PRAM, removing peripherals, and nothing helps.  Again, it was working fine until I applied an update today.Here's my system:Here's my version of Dreamweaver:

Hello,When I code php or html pages I use the 'tab' key to 'layout' my coding.Now, sometimes I have multiple lines where I want to add or delete a tab.Adding the tab for more then 1 line at once works fine (just select lines and click TAB), but deleting them does not work anymore in the new version.On the previous version I think I used 'CMD + SHIFT (or CTRL) + TAB' to delete a tab (or better said, go back one tab) for multiple lines.I'm not able to make it work.  I also had a look in the shortcut list but couldn't find anything.Do you have any solution to this?

Just forced to DW CC because DW CS6 keeps crashing. In CS6 cfsqltypes are lower case. In CC they're uppercase. I went into tag libraries and changed the default to no avail. ?Also, I never had a closing <cfqueryparam> come up before and in tag libraries no closing tag is shown, yet DW CC keeps popping this up which, of course, messes up every closing tag below. Why is it doing this?

Hi All,I can't figure this forum system out so please bear with me if I am in the wrong discussion area and inform me of the correct area.I am using CS6 on Win10. I am trying to change background header images every time the user revisits the page. I would prefer html5 or php, not js, as there are user choices and restrictions with js. Is there a tutorial, an extension, or a program that provides this?Thank you.Garyp.s. It is odd that in a DW forum that php and js are noted as being misspelled. It got html5 though.

Intermittently, if I have several documents open in code view, if I flick between the open documents the code is the same on each one.  For the correct code to be displayed I have to close each document and then reopen them at which point they will work ok for a while.It actually looks like it is just Dreamweaver not refreshing when a different document selected because if I make a change to the code it is the original page containing that code that is updated.  Having said that, it only seems to be documents of the same type that are affected, I could have 5 PHP documents that display the same code when I flick between them but any CSS or JS documents open display correctly when selected.Has anyone else experienced this behaviour?I am using 2017.0.1 build 9346 on MacOS Sierra

I am a newbie to DW. I currently use MS Expression web, one of the features I like is that CSS tags are linked to their style sheet. I can click the tag and it opens the style sheet location of the tag for editing. Does DW allow this feature, if so how?
