I recently got a new computer with windows 11 and all of the tech requirements are above minimums for illustrator. I installed the latest version 29.8.1 and tried opening a new document but it just locked up. I also tried opening existing illustrator files and again the app just goes completely unresponsive and I have to force end the program. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it along with computer restarts but that did not help. I also tried a few things from the community board here: renamed UXP file to UXP.old; used the legacy version of the new file dialogue box, installed older versions(29.6 aqnd 29.0) nothing worked.I really need to get on there for design work today!! 

 i've never had this issue before so i'm super confused, it was working fine up until last night? i create a png by removing the background of my image and i'll usually export it as a png w transparency ticked and open in illustrator or just drag straight from photoshop into illustrator and go as usual but now i'm getting this? it's got a white background? this is how it looks in photoshop after i've removed the background: and this is what i get when i drag, copy & paste or place into illustrator:

I am experiencing huge lag, very slow responce of Adobe Illustrator lately.I mean it even reaches 3+ seconds between each click, along with interface glitches and some weird errors. When I say weird errors one example is typing "290" in the Y field from the Transform window and after pressing Enter the number is 260. I tried every solution I found on the internet: resetting preferences, disabling animated zoom, file handling settings, scratch disks, page file settings, uninstall and clean install, etc.Nothing works... I'm very late on my assignments. The only solution I found was to return to version 2.9.3This one lacks AI and it is possible that other versions before 28.4 will perform well, but I can't afford to waste more time testing. For the moment this is the solution to continue and speed up my work. I have Windows 11 Pro with:- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 3700Mhz- 48GB RAM- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 256-bit- SSD M.2 for OS and SSD SATA-III for projects

Recently, Illustrator keeps changing the shape fill and outline to white and black every single time I go to change the color, specifically the second I open the swatches panel. I just undo it and then choose the color I'd like, but it is starting to get realllllyyyyy annoying. I was hoping the most recent update would correct this bug, but it hasn't--the issue still persists...and annoys me. Why does it seem the most recent updates are full of bugs? Please fix.

Wenn ich einer Fläche eine andere Farbe zuweisen will erhalte ich zuerst immer eine weiße Fläche mit schwarzer Kontur, auch wenn die Fläche gar keine Kontur hatte. Sind das neue Voreinstellungen in Illustrator? Mit älteren Version hatte ich das Problem nicht.

A built in time tracker per project would be amazing; even one where we can leave comments.Currently I am using a time tracker on click-up or the focus section in the Windows clock and then entering the minutes into a spreadsheet. But there are times when I get too busy and forget to track the time. 

Hi Everyone, In the last several days, Illustrator has crashed several times a day. Sometimes it crashes without me even using it actively. Sometimes after the crash I get a notification that there is an issues with GPU performance. My laptop has two GPUs but I am not sure how to properly utilize that. Hey all, Since Adobe doing their latest updates on Adobe Illustrator i've not been able to use the shortcut keysto resize or rotate pattern fills...  I use PC...the default shortcut keys I use are the Acute ( ` ) Key (Not the Tilde Key) along with the shift key to maintain proportions.  (for some reason the Tilde key does not work)..Does anyone else have this issue? And does anyone have a fix for it?  As i have tried most things and still doesnt work...so i have to go back to using version 27.9 in order to use the shortcuts for resizing pattern fills.Any help would be greatly appricated..Thanks

Hi,Relatively new to Illustrator so was wondering if anyone could help me with a queryIm basically trying to create a circle with a grid inside like the images below.(P.S. I used the gradient mesh to create this effect)I basically just need to know if there is a way I can give the lines in the circle a fill so that it gives the effect of a circle with solid gridding inside it.Thanks

Previously when I used the the transform again command every transform action was repeated (move, scale, rotate, with/without copy). Now only the move command works. How can I fix this? 

After the latest update to CC 2019, when I open an ai file, it launches Photoshop each time instead of Illustrator. Why?

I don't even know how to describe this, but I'll attempt to. Please look at the video included.I make a blend between two objects. I isolate and edit the blend object directly. I move one of the objects to where I want it to be. The object snaps to a random point beyond where it should go. If I hit CTRL+Z, it will go to the new placement that I originally wanted. CTRL+Z is now reset, so any edits made before this point cannot be undone. Following the latest update, Illustrator is now running extremely slowly, experiencing severe lag. Is anyone experiencing the same?

Hi everyone,I would like to execute script actions on several files using registered action scripts. For each I need to : unlock all the layers / select all the objects and vectorize texts / register in .ai (a client would like I convert lots of pdf in ai)Register in .ai works well but unlock layers and vectorize does'nt work, an error message pops up when I execute the script.Do you have any idea of how to do that and if that's possible? Thanks a lot for your help!<Thread moved to Illustrator communityby MOD>

Problem:In Illustrator, the logo appears with a white background.When exporting to a PNG with transparency, the white background disappears and only the colored logo remains.In PDF, the white appears normally.You want the white to remain visible in the PNG, but it becomes transparent.

This has been a known issue for at least three years.I swear you guys seem to change the things that no one cares about (rearanging the tools pallets for the umpteenth time)  but you won't fix any actual bugs?If I didn't need your products for work I would happily drop them.  Fix your bugs.

For some reason I can only select small images by grabbing the edge of the image. At large scale i'm able to select the image both by hovering the image and the edge of the image. But as soon as the image is scaled down, The selection won't grab the image until i hover it's edges. Any idea how to fix it?

Hey, so i got a problem. Few days ago i accidentally pressed some keyboard shortcut and i dont know which, and it made everything pixelated (as shown on picture), before i pressed the unknown shortcut, everything was smooth. Please help, i would appreaciate if somebody knew the shortcut or setting. Thanks to everyone who will help in some way.     {Reanmed by MOD}

An issue selecting a printer PPD in Illustrator is preventing PostScript printing. The printer is a Ricoh IM C4500 with PostScript Level 3 RIP built-in. macOS Monterey with Ricoh drivers install and print correctly except from within Illustrator (26.0.1).PPD is not selectable and Print as Bitmap is selected and deselecting does not change the setting.Choosing Adobe PostScript file activates the PPDIllustrator is not seeing the Ricoh as a PostScript printer and I haven't figured out a workaround.I know this is most likely a Ricoh/Monterey issue but I appreciate any suggestions.

I've been working on a file that seems to not let me put the pen tool where I want it to. It's not a really small file so I don't understand why it's doing it. I've looked at most of the settings but can't figure it out. I need to be able to draw a landscape and van that are technically correct, but every time I try to place the pen tool where I want it, it won't place it in the spot I click. 

Hi all, I have a text glitching issue that has been occuring recently.It has happened multiple times, on my home and work computer, on different documents, with different typefaces/fonts. Say I have a textbox with text, I highlight one line of text - for example, the first line of text, to apply some changes to font weight for a subheading perhaps... The change may be applied okay, but the NEXT line of text, NOT highlighted, turns into a mess of symbols/glyphs, with negative tracking applied so the characters overlap. NOTE It is not an issue with me selecting incorrectly due to a baseline shift, the entire document may have no baseline shift applied. No matter what I do, I cannot stop this occurring once this 'glitch' kicks in. If I then highlight a different line of text, the one below IT that isn't highlighted starts taking on new parametres...  Sometimes, the text stays in the intended characters, but becomes bigger, bolder with each letter overlapping so it's un

Hi everyone,I’m running into a frustrating issue in Adobe Illustrator and wanted to see if others have found a workaround.Previously, when relinking missing images, Illustrator had a checkbox that allowed it to automatically detect and relink all missing files from the same folder, based on matching filenames. That checkbox seems to be gone in my current version, V29.4, and now I’m forced to relink each image manually, one by one.Here’s what I’ve tried:Placing all missing images in the same folder as the AI file (or in a “Links” folder).Using the regular “Relink” dialog, hoping it would detect the rest automatically.Searching for preferences or settings that might restore the old behavior.No luck so far.Has anyone found a way to batch relink missing images from the same folder without that checkbox?Bonus points if you’ve used scripting or automation to solve this. I’m also open to technical solutions.
