Questions

Hi all I am sure this has been asked a million times but i cant find the answer. When i drag my guides across from the ruler in AI, they dont show until i click on something in the document - very hard to place accurately when using. Also the direction selection tool also doesnt show when i have dragged it to select something - please help i am going crazy!

I've opened several files that have the same font, a font I got from Adobe that I've used for years, and suddenly the text is highlighted to indicate that the font is no longer recognized. I've restarted all programs, signed in and out of Adobe, and my account shows that the font is installed. My only option is to "remove" it. But it's not showing up in my list of fonts at all. The font in question is Eds Market Script Regular. Other Eds Market fonts are showing up, but not that one. The client wants this font specifically, and it's been on my ads for years, so why did it suddenly stop working? It's not a third party font, either - as I said, it's Adobe. I have the entire Eds Market family installed and this one isn't showing up. In fact, I think there are several others not showing up as well, but this is the one I need.I'm looking in my Creative CLoud app, and as you can see, only a small portion of the fonts are showing up in that. I created 3 nearly identical bar charts using no linked/embeded/external art. Everything is just text labels and rectangular objects. Two of the charts are under 500kb but, one chart is 18mb, and I don't understand why. I had intended to email the AI files to the client so they could update statistics in the future. But, this one file is really large to email, and doesn't match the others in size. All files are 8.5x11, RGB color space. Each file has about 20 layers, sharing a common naming scheme between them.No Groups or sub-layers.Show All is grayed-out.The Links panel is empty.I have checked each layer and there is nothing other than the text label and rectangular object.Saving As or Save A Copy results in the same file size.Saving with/without PDF compatible makes no difference. If I copy the contents to a new blank document, then the file size is normal. But, I loose all my layer organization in the process. It's a pain to recreate the layer names and organizat

I have an issue with a shape, it's not got rounded corners, but displays the stroke as if it does, if I turn them up they round as expected, then drop back down as I slide the handle at the corner and as it notes it gets to zero they snap and display as rounded again. I've screen recoded the issue, but I'd seemingly have to host it somewhere to show here. I've uploaded a screen cap, you can see it is 0px above. Thanks in advance!  

I have about 50 files with quarter-inch bleeds that I need to export as .pngs, but without the bleeds. I can't seem to find a setting that will allow me to do this. Am I missing something, or is this option just not available?

Con acciones simples como mover un objeto, da el error de "no se puede previsualizar" después se pone todo en blanco y tengo que cerrar y volver a abrirlo. Es muy molesto, supongo que es por la actualización pero así no se puede trabajar... Ya he probado a desinstalar e instalar de nuevo pero nada, sigue dando error.Just with easy actions like moving an object canvas turns white and "can't preview it" error, therefore I have to quit and start again... so annoying. I guess it's due to new update and also unistalled and instaled is done yet.

I have been using Illustrator for work for over 20 years. This new update has me completely confused. I can't use the pen tool and manipulate the anchors to make curves like I used to. Its taken me 10+ attempts just to select and move a simple item a 1/2 an inch on my artboard. It has taken me at least 4 times as long to create a file for a client than it did with the 2023 update. When I try to drag guides from the top and side rulers, they add wherever my curser clicks on the ruler, not to where I want to drag the guide. Am I the only one? I'm not using the Magnet app, I've seen that suggested in other posts. Im really only doing very basic things to create a tech pack for clients. I feel like a beginner, learning the basics, if I can't figure out whats wrong...... I don't know what I'm going to do? Can I go back to 2023?

The adobe customers support said that it would "not yet" be compatible. CAN i hope that a version for Surface Pro will be developed? Hello!I have been working for a while trying to find a way to create a new layer with all the shapes that intersect another group of shapes. Specifically, in my scenario I have the word "SOL" (expanded into shapes, compound path for the O though it doesnt work even with a filled O), and a background floral art design that is composed with a bunch of shapes as seen below.I want to create something like this, but without manually deleting each shape that doesn't appear to intersect the letters. Is there a way to do this? I tried getting ChatGPT to generate scripts that use Illustrators hitTest, but they never worked. ChatGPT also made scripts using Illustrators pathfinder, but they took so long I had to force quit Illustrator. Now my clipping masks arent even working, and are just returning empty letters as you can see below.The following is the hitTest script ChatGPT made. I don't know why this doesn't work, and nor do I know why it would possibly work because I don't know about hitTest

Hello everyone, I would like to ask if anyone could help me with a question about layers in Illustrator. I’m exporting vectors using save as, with a single layer for the project and sublayers for parts of my artwork. When I use  save as, the layers remain, but when I reopen the file and use the standard save on an existing project, the layers become groups inside that layer. Also, when I upload the file to some websites, my layers disappear and all the paths become one big list inside a single layer, causing me to lose all my organization. Would anyone know why this happens?  Thanks in advance for your help!

I cannot get a transparent png file into my Ai document. They come in with a black background.I have never had this issue before-till this week. I used to work with these all the time! Is there some setting that i may have inadvertently checked off?  the png was saved correctly out of photoshop, and I can see the transparency in bridge. Importing photoshop files with transparency is still working fine. it's only PNGs that are the problem.anyone? thanks!

So, I had an art piece that I was working on... The app then froze and crashed because the anchor points became locked in the same direction after using the smooth tool and attempting to make them independent points. This is a common crash I get, one that still has yet to be resolved. However, this is the second time this has happened, where it will automatically recover another document I had open for colors, but not create a working one for the one I was actively using. Very irritating to say the least. I don't have the complete crash log, but it did have "exception type: exc_bad_access (sigsegv)" as its cause. Again, guessing those anchor points resulted in an invalid action. Still, since I'm overly cautious with auto-recovery files, I created a copy of the recovered file and its folder contents in a different location, in case Illustrator would remove it (and it did, to no surprise). I was hoping there could be a way to fix the possible error in the file, because I do not want

Hi, all I have to send a few holographic stickers for printing, now the colour in srgb looks great but as soon as I convert the colour mode to cmyk the colours are extremely dull which would be a huge problem for holographic printing and in general I have observed the cmyk gamut to be dull because of their nature. How do you guys work around it ? what is the resolution to get exact shiny reflective holographic stickers printed?  what would be the general solution to have cmyk documents looking similar to rgbRGBCMYK

HiTwo weeks ago for some reason I ignore, illustrator is displayed with all the features floating; which it means, every time I open or close files everything is floating with my desk at the back..I've tried everything to go back to the previous layout - everything very organized and tidy - but it's impossible, I don't know what else to do. Please, help.. this is driving me crazy -- I cant work like this anymore  Screen cap - no option to consolidate everything in the same window - is light grey I cannot choose it zy -- I cant work like this anymore

Hello people, Ich muss für die Uni eine Postkarte in Illustrator erstellen. In der Aufgabe wird verlangt, dass alle Verwendeten Tif-Dateien verknüpft sein sollen. Bei mir sind immer wieder die Verknüpfungen gebrochen, wodurch ich sie immer wieder neu verknüpft habe..... Mein Dozent meinte, es könnte daran liegen, dass meine Dateien in der Cloud gespeichert sind. Hat jemand eine Idee wie man das beheben könnte OHNE alles neu zu machen? Grüßee

Hello Team,  I am working in Illustrator and I go to Window<Asset Export to open the Asset Export Tab. Next, I select my 3D object and drag it over to the Asset Export window. The problem i am having is the image does not appear in the Asset Export window.  I want to export this asset for use in Dimension.

 Buenas tardes, ya estoy cansada de pedir ayuda a los agentes para que me boludeen. Aqui estoy, cuando abro illustrator normal o Beta, me aparece asi, cuando cierro el cartel blanco, se me cierra todo. ¿Alguna solución?. Gracias !

Hello Team, I would like to ask if their are any other efficient options aside from 'Image Trace' to remove the blue 'x' that shows up and covers the image once I 'Place' the file onto a new document? 

I'm having an issue where the object selection box doesn't match the actual object's edges. This misalignment causes problems when trying to snap objects to the artboard, and my JPG exports have a white, unfilled border.The object offset is even more severe when using GPU Preview compared to CPU Preview.
