No, this is not an issue with my monitor not being calibrated.  The colors inside of AI dull when I move the AI window from my MacBook pro to my external monitor. If I move an image opened in preview of the same exact colors from my MacBook to my external monitor, they look correct. In fact, everything looks the same on both monitors, except for AI. Therefore it seems like it is something in AI? Mac screen:External monitor: Another interesting detail here - When I move my AI window from my macs display over to the external display, at first the colors look correct on the external monitor, but when my cursor enters the AI window the colors flicker from correct to dull as I move my curosr around, making it un-useable.  When I change the AI window size, it goes to the dull color and stays there. The same is true for when I move the AI window from external to mac display, it looks super dull on the mac display, does the flicker dance with cursor movement, until I r

Even though I installed the latest Illustrator update this morning (v. 29.5.1), I am still having issues with attempting to export slices as PNG files. The program randomly defaults to a JPG suffix, even though I've selected the PNG format in the drop down on the right (screenshot attached). If I delete the .jpg suffix and replace it with .png, it ends up adding a duplicate .png (.png.png) to the end of the file name. From time to time, it will save MOST of the slices as PNG files, but one of the slice will randomly be saved in a JPG format, which I did not select. I know that I will be told to delete my preferences file (good luck finding that on my late 2023 MacBook!), but that is such a major pain to have to go back in and change all of my preferences back to ones that make sense to me. Sigh... I will if I have to, but so far nothing else has seemed to fix the problem, even creating a new Illustrator file to see if the glitch was in the file. Thoughts? Ideas?

I have 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K 3.19 GHz and 64 GB Ram with 4 GB Nvidia graphics card.While working on Heavy files, usually 1 to 1.5 GB, at the time of saving it takes a lot of time. Normall,y i have to save the files first and then convert to PDF to save as a preview version of a 1 master artboard out of multiple artboards.Is there any other workflow to speed up this process, maybe with Adobe Bridge or some other plugin to do this in background ?

Hi All,  I work for a company who provides leavers hoodies for schools. I have been at the company for 8 months and been comfortable doing 25. I now have to create leavers designs for 26 - but I am finding this quite tricky.  The 6 itself doesn't want to become a text box when using area type - I have tried to make it into a compound path but it wont work because of the shape within the 6. All I want is an outline of a 6 INCLUDING the circle inbetween so that I can type into it. I used a method I found on youtube where you use the knife tool and cut through the shape (see attached image) and it works slightly but when I have adjusted the inset spacing it seperates the text due to this cut which isn't what I want. I feel like I am making this 10x more complicated then it needs to be.  Any help would be a god send. And if anyone has any tips on typing the names into the 26 whilst justifying it and seperating the letters perfectly without taking hours to

People, I have a problem:    Imagine you are planning your wedding and creating the visual briefs for all you suppliers with Illustrator on your iPad. And then one day when you want to send those briefs out, you cannot access Illustrator. And your files.   Like I sign in, it thinks about it and sends me back to the "Your trial is over- please get a subscription" page. I clicked "Purchse", I clicked "restore purchse", I turned the iPad off and on again. The only acknoledgement I get is a "You have purchased a subscription already".    How do I get out of this viscous circle, back into Illustrator?   Help

I don't even know how to describe it. a lot of errors in Illustrator. Sometimes the control z and control shift z are not working. The brush or pencil tool dots don't show what I should do. I have 700 GB left in c and 1 tera in d. I don't think it's a computer issue

I'm new to illustrator and am trying to export a png but illustrator keeps coming back with this error.The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [!now]What could be the cause? I have tried different solutions I have seen for other problems such as deleting hidden layers but nothing seems to be working.I am running illustrator CC on a windows 10 computer. Hi all. I am trying to create a wallpaper for an old vintage bus under restoration. I thought I could use Adobe Illustrator to do it.  My illustrator crashes . I have a 8 core AMD processor , 32 Gb ram, GPU Radeon 5500 xt 8 Gb. I've been having this issue for a long time and it's something I've always either not notice or worked around, but it's become incredibly frustrating lately and I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.Here is my problem:I start a new document in CMYK.Default fill is ffffff (white), default stroke is 231f20 (grayish black)This gets applied to any shape I create. When I start using the text tool, the default is a fill of 231f20 and a stroke of ffffff.Is there any way I can change all default black colors to 000000? I have not yet been able to find a single solution that will solve this problem for new documents or shapes I create, meaning that I have to change the black color a million different times for every project to avoid using any 231f20.I believe this has been a problem for me with every version of illustrator, mac or pc, since CS6.Please let me know if you need any additional info.

Basically anything try to open, including Preferences, gets closed down automatically, right before it opens. This includes saving, creating a new file and so on. Every box that has to be opened on top of the program screen gets closed down right after it appears. Tried to reinstall and it didn't work.

How do you consistently get the color swatch color names to show up in the color picker?  I can get the box of all the shades of colors but rarely the drop down where you can choose a color by name such as "white" or "black" etc.

Hey! I've just started using AI and need to make a vectorized logo. I read that there is a vectorize tool on AI on the iPad, but I do not have this tool. Now i wanted to ask if this tool is only available for iPad Pros, since I'm usin an iPad 8. Any ideas how I can get my drawn logo to be vectorized or does anyone have some good explanation videos for me?Thank you in advance!

Hello Illustrator Community,   I recently installed SageThumbs on Windows 10 to view Photoshop files somewhat like you would on a Mac. As far as the Photoshop files go, everything works great. But now my Illustrator files no longer are indicated with the orange Ai icon, as shown in on the left of the screenshot below when I'm in the Details or List view. Explorer just shows the white page icon. It's not huge deal (because they still work), but I miss having the icons for organization purposes.   I installed GhostScript, as suggested from this link: https://www.cherubicsoft.com/en/projects/sagethumbs/ , but that did not make a difference. My screenshot also shows my SageThumbs settings. I assume that something with SageThumbs is screwing up the missing Ai icons. Is there something that I can do, whether through SageThumbs settings or Windows settings, to keep the orange Ai icon?     Thanks in advance for any help!

I've never has this issue until the recent Illustrator update, but whenever i embed a PNG it makes the colours dull and washed out. I have found a fix, which is unticking "convert to sRGB" when exporting as a PNG from Photoshop. However, this doesn't solve the problem for other product images that i use on a regular basis, that were created long before the new update that are now effected. I'd have to re-export every single image to solve the problem and there's hundreds of images. I've attached an image, the one on the left is before embedding, the one on the right is after embedding.

Ok so i have just started in high end audio home theatre business. I want to know which app or apps are best and required to designand post on social media like facebook instagram twitter etc. to promote business. Which app or apps required to do this task and also edit size of these as required on twitter facebook instagram etc. Also youtube banner for my channel and logo as well.And then how do i animate them to attract customers. I'm in the middle of trying to finish my final when all of a sudden, I can't make new layers and it won't let me copy existing layers. I've tried closing up the program then opening it back up. I've tried making new Illustrator files to see if it was just the one I was working on that was having troubles, but it seems like across-the-board on all Illustrator it won't let me make new layers or copy existing ones. Please help!
