Hello, I am new to variable import and finding great success with get text data to populate my files. However, I was curious if there is a way that if a field equals a certian value in the CSV file to import a graphic from either a file path or from my adobe library.  For example if column A equals a value of 380 it would load a standard jpg into my illustrator file instead of me having to put the file path name in? Thanks

Hello all, I have Illustrator version 29.4 (64 bit) on Windows 11 (24H2) on HP workstation Z2 G9.Intermittently, but with increasing frequency, I receive a warning dialog prompting me to set read and write permissions for the following directory: C:\Users\cristina.zorzi\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 29 Settings\it_IT\x64\I have previously adjusted these permissions, and the message temporarily ceased appearing.However, the issue has now recurred. What is the permanent solution to resolve this?Thank you in advanceCristina

Sometimes I am unable to close Illustrator and I must use Windows kill command to close it otherwise Windows can shutdown and poweroff the PC. How can I solve this issue ?I have Illustrator version 29.4 (64 bit) on Windows 11 (24H2) on HP workstation Z2 G9. Thank you in advanceCristina

Bonjour, Je rencontre un souci avec mes fichiers SVG issus d'Illustrator.Quand j'exporte mes fichiers en SVG, mes dégradés deviennent pixelisés. Je voulais savoir s'il y avait une solution pour résoudre ceci ou pas.  Merci pour vos réponses.

I cannot change my styles in illustrator to show digits correct in RTL languages.We use to have a lot of texts with digits and values and they should show up "LTR ARABIC (0123...).I have already downloaded additionally another Illustrator-VersionBut anyway, my numbers are wrong with each and every setting.By the side - I can't see any "Type - advanced" settings in the preferences - shouldn't there be any for middle-eastern text? Do I have downloaded the wrong version?Please for your help - what I'm doing wrong here?If I type only a number, it stays correct. If I add text, the number flips to RTL:I also tried to manipulate the numbers by a certain character style. If I put that style only on a number within the text, I have changes to the complete text. Hi I dont have opportunity to edit stroke. I opened stroke window and only can edit width and colors. Please help me - its basic feature and now cant to anything. Screenshot is in polish but you can see its error.  

I have a script I have used to place Illustrator art inside of other open documents. It places them at the coordinates in the code. I have come up with the need to place dynamically created SVG files into Illustrator documents. When I try to use the script for placing SVG, it does not work (gives a bunch of errors). I can manually place the SVG file into Illustrator. However, I cannot have the position predetermined as the script can do. When I place the SVG, it is only the art, not any artboard or bounding area like the Illustrator (.ai) file. This works well for my application now. If there is any way to do it, I would like to find out. Hi,  I've been experiencing this problem with Illustrator where the new document window doesn't respond. I'll try to create a new document and it will either just be stuck on the new document window or a document will open but the window will not go away,  and the close button is not responding. The only thing that helps is going into my task manager and forcefully ending the task.  This has only been happening with the new version of Illustrator (v 28.0). Is this just a bug and is there any other workaround for this issue? App Version: Illustrator v 28.0OS: Windows 11 pro Kind regards 

idk how to stop it i try everything from my end but i can fix this error .everytime when i save my file i phase this kind of print in my Canvas and even when i export my files in any format it come on it too , it to annoying and this error give me a headache  i can;t work properly kinldy help me with this if anyone know. otherwise i'll remove this from my system

hello everyone, I really need your help.my illustrator cant create a new file, before searching the adobe support community i updated my illlustrator to 2023 version thinking it would help; but it didnt so i searched the community and found a few answers such as going to perferences > general > use legacy file new it kind of worked to create a new file but I had a problem with saving the file. also the home screen of illustrator when starting the application is still blank. is there any answer to these issues ?  thank you.

Hi, whenever I click on one of the default file buttons under "Start a new file fast", nothing happens. The buttons just don't respond. And whenever I click on "New file" or ctrl C, no options show up in the pop up window There doesn't seem to be a way to even make my own custom document size. Any help is appreciated.

After I open illustrator and click on new file or any other file, it does not respond at all. I have tried to clear preferences, also reinstalled different versions. But the issue persists. However a few times when I had opened illustrator and then opened an .ai file from windows explorer, it opened.

Hi all, I've been creating a portfolio in illustrator and had it near complete yesterday. Today, when i opened the file (which has been saved to creative cloud the whole time) it showed that the latest version it has saved is from nearly a month ago. It's missing all the pages I've completed since then. The most bizarre thing is I've been continually saving and closing/reopening the file daily these last few weeks and never had a problem with it saving correctly. It's had far more recent versions saved and today is reverting to the file as of a month ago. Has anyone has this problem before and is there a way to access more recent versions of the file? Fortunately I had already exported the pages i completed as a PDF, although some of them i wanted to tweak a little more. Worst case I have to recreate the pages based on the pdf but that would take way longer. Appreciate any advice on this!

I just installed illustrator 2025 but the new file can't work the taps like saved, printed, web all are empty and can't open any illustrator files in the program or import any photo _I try the lagecy file in preference and not work_also try uxp to uxp.old and failed_I install illustrator 2022 and the same problem in itbefore installing there was an error "read-write" but I can fix it and install the program and it was because I install illustrator portable I need help 

Whenever I save my file in Adobe Illustrator, a dialog box with metadata information (such as file path, fonts, colors, and user details) automatically appears on my artboard as text. How can I stop this from happening? 

Hello!   I've just updated to Illustrator 2020 (running on macOS Mojave) and for some reason I am unable to create a new file. I can open and save files with no problem but am unable to create new files; ie nothing happens either from 'Create new..' or using the menu bar. I'm probably missing something very obvious but has anyone else encountered this problem?   Thanks!   {Renamed By MOD}  

Hello! I'm a bit new to using illustrator (making a site plan right now) and I'm having trouble exporting. my lines are 0.25pt and when exporting to pdf they become so thickit's not as bad when I export as png but then I lose the way the pattern looks/contrastI'm not planning on printing it, so what should I do to export and be able to have the same view as I currently have in illustrator, I rally like the way it looks and don't really want to change the visual? (Enhance thin lines is already checked off!)  p.s: exporting it to photoshop also doesn't help thank you in advance! 

Does anyone know of a way within AI CS4 to export layers to separate .ai files? Or third party plug-in to do the same? Preferably retaining the layer name as the new file name.I have a layered .ai file with 40 layers of logo versions that I need to export to separate files and I'd like to avoid the obvious "save as" and delete layers route.Thanks in advance.

Many 3d pmodeling programs have the ability to snap the view to a selected item; edge, vertex, plane, or an entire mesh. Does Illustrator have this ability?  If not, I would like to request it. There have been many times I have been working in Illustrator and while between zoom and the hand tool there are many ways to navigate a canvas, it would be great if I could press a single button and snap/ zoom to that single selected item. It would make work much faster and it seems like it would be a simple addition. If it already exists, it wouls be great if someone could clue me in on it. Thank you!

You people at Adobe should be ashamed and your company needs to be destroyed or broken up at the least. You are literally responsible for thousands (if not more) people all around the world loosing business and money because you see fit to release broken buggy software & expect your paying professional customers to waste their time being beta testers for your trash wares! Just as with any other company that dominates an industry the monopolistic business practices make the customers suffer, you business tactics are disgusting and I pray your company will eventually be liable for every lost cent of productivity caused by renting us broken pieces of shit.  I have state of the art Mac Pro with 64GB of RAM and still doing to most basic of work in illustrator causes my machine to run at a crawl, not to mention the ever present Spyware / bloatware Creative cloud chewing through my resources even when im not using your crappy software..This shit wont fly much longer.
