Questions

I've just recently installed Illustrator 2021 25.0.1 and I keep getting this glitch (?) where as I drag, the shape tool is continously creating shapes with unision to the movement and speed of my mouse.  I can not figure out what is causing this to happen.  I have no third party programs.  Any suggestions would be amazing! Attached are two screenshots of my window to see the massive clump of shapes and the paths, which you can see the general movement of my hand and how it's being continuously made.

hi! i've noticed that sometimes a paragraph style i've created in illustrator—with specific font family, font style, size, leading, tracking, etc.—will have the font family and font style fields blank when i open go into the paragraph style options to edit. the style will work properly, including applying those attributes, but if i go to edit i have to repopulate those fields, which in some cases becomes a trial-and-error attempt to recreate the original style so i can make whatever changes i want to make. i attached a screen snip, which even shows the font name is incorrect in the toolbar (the font is called "big shoulders display" and the toolbar says "myriad pro"). is this happening for anyone else, and is there a way to fix it?

I’ve followed all the steps suggested on the Adobe help page, but it’s frustrating that I can't save the Illustrator file I’ve been working on. It saves fine without the text, but when I include text, it won’t save. I don’t have any corrupted fonts, but I noticed that by default, the text tool selects Myriad Pro. I’ve installed the font on my Intel Mac, and everything seems fine with the font. However, I urgently need to find a way to save the Illustrator document with editable text.

Hi, My mac won´t recognize the extension .aid to be open with the Adobe Illustrator app.  The program crashed without making a recovery file, I opened the program and it didn´t offer me the recovery, even though the AutoSave is activated. I tried manually getting the file from <user name>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 28 Settings/es_ES/DataRecovery named AIDBTempXXXXXX.aid but Illustrator won´t open this file. Tried changing the extension manually on the file, still nothing.  I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!

What are changes take place when you Outlined the Stroke because I cannot see any changes in the image?  

All the sudden my linked pictures in transparency are rescaled and changed position.

Hi,I'm trying to adjust the leading of text on a path to be further down than the "Ascender" position provides. I used CorelDraw at my previous job, and you are able to just grab the text and adjust the leading to your liking when it is on a path. This really doesn't matter for perfectly straight or circular paths because there are ways around doing that, however, this path is a curvy line and I would have to adjust the path itself to make it look right. Is there no way to take the settings any further than just "ascender," "descender" or "baseline"?Thanks!

Hola comunidad tengo problema con la presion en Illustrator, actualmente tengo una tableta wacom cintiq pro y una huion y con ambas las presion no funciona en illustrator pero en photoshop u otros software de diseño/animacion si es detectada automaticamente, He probado re instalando drivers de las tabletas y aun asi persiste el problema.  Tengo windows 11 version 24h2 como sistema operativo. Si alguien tiene alguna solucion o sabe que se puede hacer lo agradeceria muchisimo

HI everyone!Im currently wrapping up a personal project of mine and came across an issue. When i try to scale up my entire work from 4x6 to 18x24, the grain effects became smoother, which i dont like. The first picture below is the 4x6 and the second is scaled up to 18x24Is there a way for me to retain the texture quality from the first picture when scaling up to sizes such as 18x24? I really want that grainy, dirty and noisy look to it and im planning on making art prints out of this. Any suggestions?I appreciate any help!

Illustrator is not starting, it even freezes my mac on startup.I tried to uninstall / reinstall creative cloud, then uninstall / reinstall illustrator, delete illustrator preferences.Nothing does it.MAcbook pro M1 Max Adobe illustrator 29.4, mac os 15.3.2

I have an imgae here with a stipple that won't "scale" when I try to enlarge the image: As you can see (or not see), the grains are too small in the enlarged version to be visible. I tried Object>Transform>Scale... and had "Scale Strokes and Effects" checked, but this didn't make a difference. Also, I wanted to edit the grain effect directly, but AI appears to be treating the layer with the effect as a simple object. Why this is I don't have a guess as I haven't worked on this project in months.Any ieas?

Hi  I have been using Adobe (mostly illustrator) for my work and I am suddenly unable to open any of the Adobe files due to the following error message. Please can anyone help me? 

I have a problem with a ligature fonts that work on Corel, Photoshop, but not working in AI (The ligature feature button is disabled in the AI panels, AI detects the same font as a NON-ligature font, and the button is disabled ) It happens  with all the fonts which have stylistic options

I have a beautiful PNG file that I want to turn into a sticker. I have been trying all day to create a die cut line around the image so it has a nice even white border. I have watched countless Youtube videos and tried EVERYTHING. How can I do this? Please help!!

Please add "Match the document units" as an option within SVG Options. If this is left unchecked the SVG will use the default SVG unit of pixels, if checked the SVG will adopt the units used in the working document.  Why?Historically when saving an AI file as an SVG the width and height of that SVG would be set in pixels regardess of the units of measurement used in the document, at some point in the last couple of years that changed, the units used in the document were matched in the SVG. This is troublesome as a lot of third-party apps only recognise pixels. For example I use SVG files for a CNC router and the firmware crashes if you use anything but pixels.Current hacksSave the SVG, open it in TextEdit and then manually chang the width and height of the SVG to match the pixel values used in viewBox. Right-click on the document rulers change the units to pixels and then export the SVG. Once saved, revert the rulers back to the working units.

I have been experiencing some very poor Illustrator performance that has been affecting the turn around time on my work projects. I have a fairly strong computer - Intel i7 8thGen, NVIDIA Geforce 3070, 64GB of RAM, and plenty of hard drive space for the system drive as well as an additional drive for storage.    I have been troubleshooting the issue for over a week, but having issues for well over a couple of months. I have gone through many forum articles explaining how to boost the applications performance, so many of the obvious solutions have been attempted already (ensured GPU Performance is checked, switching between GPU and CPU preview, updating GPU drivers, cleared the temp files,  making sure the application is up-to-date) all to no avail.    The main issue I'm having: The file I'm working on is fairly small in size, but complex with drop shadow effects, gaussian blur, outer glow, and working with high-resolution files. Hello. I'd like some input to see if there is a way to do what I need...I want to create an icon library which will consist of hundreds of icons. They are categorized so I'd like to have a layer of icons for each category so that all the layers will be hidden except the layer of icons that I would like to view at a certain time. I'd like to have each icon on it's own artboard so I can name each icon separately. That way, if I need to export them as SVG files, they will each automatically have their own appropriate filename. There are too many icons to have them all on one layer. The problem is that if there are multiple layers, each icon on it's own layer can only have one name because you can only have one artboard for all the layers. Can you recommend a good way for me to do what I need to do? Basically, have named icons on multiple layers that are exportable with their appropriate filenames. Thank you!
