Hi!I’d like to add text to an vector object of a shipping container. Is there some way using 3D please?

Illustrator started showing lines within text when I apply strokes. I thought the file was bad, but it happens even in a new file. I exported it as a JPEG to see if it's only in the program, but it still shows up in the image. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix it? Let me know if you have any questions.Thank you! 

Am I using the wrong tool here, or is the clickable area for grabbing the start/end points of a text-on-path object unnecessarily small?See attached screen recording for reference. Feels like you have to hit that one-pixel-wide blue outline around the selection square just to get it to work. I find myself using MacOS Zoom to locate it.

Hello everyone.With the latest update, thumbnails of my recent files are no longer visible on the opening home screen/opening screen of Illustrator. The My Files/Open Recent Files list shows the 30 most recent files  - nothing has changed here and it works. Resetting illustrator settings doesn't help. Turning the GPU on/off does not help. Deleting older version settings/resetting current ones doesn't help either. All methods indicated on this forum since 2019 do not work 😕😕 Some program bug - nothing can be done about it. Has this happened to anyone else? macOS 15.0.1 SequoiaIllustrator 29.0Thx Tom

About once  a day, when I click on an object with the direct selection tool, the bounding box will be way larger than it should, implying another object on another artboard is included in the selection. This happens when the object I am selecting is NOT grouped with anything else. Moreover, is seems buggy because the mystery object doesnt have its "edges" visible the way it would if it were legitimately selected. I can deselect all, but then anything I click on, the selection's bounding box is expanded to include the mystery object. The only way I have found to deal with it is to drag a corner of the bounding box, then undo, and then click off again. Then Voila! I am able to select my object (or any other) without the mystery selection happening. I use clipping masks a lot, as well as many artboards, and have wondered if it's related to this, as the mystery objects are sometimes masked images, and often on another artboard. However, the mystery objects are not always masked.Anyone

This has been a persistant issue for months over many app updates. I found the solution for Photoshop (toggle off “Enable Modern User Interface”), but there doesn’t seem to be one for Illustrator and it’s slowing me down so much.When I’m saving a file in Illustrator, I’m unable to copy text and paste it into the save dialog box as the file name. Nothing happens at command V. I have to manually type a file name each new file save. This is time consuming, stupid, and I’m going insane I can’t just copy what I need into the dialog box in Illustrator. I copy text inside Illustrator, outside Illustrator, try to paste into the save dialog box and same result, nothing.My specs: iOS 26.7. A few days ago all of my fonts—both installed and activated—stopped appearing in the font-drop down menu in adobe illustrator and only adobe illustrator. After updating to Illustrator 2026, i noticed that all of the Illustrator effects are greyed out, and I have no clue how to get them active. This feature worked fine in previous versions.  I am wanting to use to Warp Tool on the selected text to curve it. You'll see in the photos I select it as an object, no luck....i select it as text....no luck. Is this a bug, or did they change how warp tool works?

I'm not sure why, but my units in Illustrator keep defaulting to "Points", when I've never once used points for any form of measurement except type size. I've changed the preferences both in document and restarting Illustrator without opening a file but it keeps setting them to Points. I just want my document print sizes to stay in mm.

I am using Illustrator 2026. On opening, if I click Open > open recent files > I am presented with a list of 20 or so files which are from weeks ago and completed. No recent files (from the previous day, for instance) show up at all. Any ideas?

Bonjour,Probleme sur illustrator impossible a resoudre meme avec l’IA.Ex : J’ai un graphic sur illustrator composé de 2 bitmaps :1_bitmap 1 - layer 1 - couleur ROUGE2_bitmap 2 - layer 2 - couleur BLEUChaque bitmap a des zones pleines et des zones transparentes. Et ces 2 bitmpas sont superposés et incorporés.Lorsque que je veux selectionner le bitmap 2, ou meme si je veux selectionner avec la pipette la couleur BLEU,ca me selectionne toujours le bitmap qui est au premier plan. Meme si je clique sur la partie transparente, ca me selectionne le bitmap en premier plan.Dans les anciennes version ca marchait, aujourd’hui ca ne marche pas, comme si illustrator ne prenais plus en compte les transparences dans les bitmap.Pour le moment, si je dois seelctionner un bitmap precis, je dois bidouiller en verouillant les bitmap un par un que je ne veux pas selectionner.  Ou avec la pipette, je dois decaller chaque bitamp pour pouvoir pointer la couleur sur celui que je veux et ensuite les resupperpos

The issue I'm facing is: Illustator is taking about 1 minute to open a file. No matter if the file is big or short. Using the latest Version 24.9. I didn't face it at previous version.

I'm editing a pdf downloaded from Open Street Map on illustrator, and the layers panel goes black whenever I click on it.The layers will load after a few minutes, but any subsequent operation, be it within the layers panel or not, will freeze the software entirely. Any advice will help on why this is the case and how to fix it. 

I’m experiencing scaling issues when handling DXF files in illustrator 2025 and 2026. I would like to roll back to Illustrator 2024 (v28), But this is no longer showing up under Other Versions in Creative Cloud.Can an Adobe staff member please provide a direct download link for the Illustrator 2024 installer package? I’m running Windows 11. Thanks for your help.   

I have Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop both CS3. They've always worked fine but today when I tried to open them this banner popped up "Licensing for this product has stopped working. You must repair the problem etc..." I don't trust popups like this so I'm wondering what to do. I called Adobe by phone but they were no help.

I do not have a Firefly subscription and the Turntable button screws up my transform window stacked layout because it makes the transform window larger that it used to be and pushes down other features of other windows.  It only shows up when I select an object, but that’s even more annoying because it resizes my transform window when that happens and sometimes I accidentally select a wrong window option because I am quick to mouse over and the transform window is resizing to ad the Turntable button while I’m trying to click something else, like Scale Strokes & Effects.  Screenshots attached of object selected and no object selected to show what I mean.  I have 2 monitors, so I have all commonly used windows on my 2nd monitor, so the screenshots are of just the 2nd monitor.  I can’t use it anyway and would very much like to hide a feature that I can’t use.  Any suggestions?

So I’m really just trying to see if I’m stupid or what. Every time I try and use recolor is it such a pain in the butt. I have an artwork and I would like it to be only 4 colors. I go to the recolor tab and change the colors to 4. Now all of a sudden the Artwork is a lighter color and everything is just screwed up, the previous artwork has a base of only 4 colors to begin with so it shouldn’t have a problem identifying the colors and yet it always seems to mess it up. Not even mentioning that if you don't use the advance option setting then when you try and change one color on the wheel then the whole art work change to only 1 color even though I have the color count to 4. I think that whole system is ridiculous and as a graphic designer I shouldn’t have this many problems with that. It should be simple and basic and it just a pain. Please someone explain this or at least let me know that I’m stupid. and if your having issues wit the same thing then can we please just get an update to

I am SO SICK AND TIRED of Adobe screwing up Illustrator… a simple thing I should be able to do and have done countless times now no longer works properly. Simply have several Iines of text for a stand up banner, the text is 200pt size, the leading is set to 240pt to there is space between the lines, and all I need is ONE WORD in 260pt on the last line and it is screwing it up completely. Who at Adobe is screwing it up so badly it is broken?????????????? This NEVER WAS A PROBLEM BEFORE AT ALL EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR!!!!!!! Why does Adobe insist on thinking it knows typography when clearly it is idiot programmers who know absolutely NOTHING ABOUT TYPOGRAPY and continually break this application over and over and over again. Leading has existed since they started calling it LEADING over five hundred years ago but now, today, 2026, Adobe decides to screw with it, because well.. Hi fellow designers, how do you handle Pantone colors now that the libraries have been removed from Illustrator? I do have an old set of printed swatch books, but the colors don't match, and I don't want to buy a new one. Is there an alternative? Thanks.

When performing certain operations, ie pathfinder operations and masking and I believe clipping, all the original objects are removed from their layers and moved to the current layer.  Can illustrator just copy these to a new layer or the current layer without removing the originals from their layers?
