For the life of me, I'm unable to find the Paragraph Rules Panel. I want to specify a Paragraph Style that adds a rule at the end of each paragraph, but that option isn't listed in the submenu.I've attached a screenshot of the submenu that shows what's SUPPOSED to be there (17 active options: Keep Options, Span Columns, Hyphenation, etc.) along with one showing what I see in MY Paragraph submenu (only 7 active options).Admittedly, I've been retired for a few years now, and always feel rusty whenever I open any of the Suite apps, but this seems like it ought to be a no brainer.Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?Thanks,Bob

I have been asked to design a highly illustrated packaging box. I was given a PDF template of the box, which I am illustrating on top of using Procreate. I find Procreate a simple way of creating images, however once I transfer both a PNG and a PDF file (which is set in 300dpi and appears to be "high quality") onto Adobe Illustrator, the file is pixelated. I have used "Image Trace" and altered the settings of the paths and corners to vectorise the image but the outcome of this distorts the original image (both in shape and colour). I was wondering whether there was an alternative for this? Also, I was wondering whether there is a chance that I could connect my Ipad (and Apple Pencil) to my Mac so that I can use this as a graphics tablet? It would be really useful if I could draw using a my Apple Pencil straight onto Adobe software but I'm unsure whether this is possible.  If this isn't possible, does anybody have any suggestions on software, devices or techniques wh

Hi, Im going nuts trying to fix this.Whenever I start a new project in illustrator my fill and stroke is automatically set to white and black.I do not want any stroke color set on a new project, just white fill.How do I set this as a standard?Thanks!

Hi, I'm using the most recent version of Illustrator for Windows and I feel like you used to be able to click and drag in the kerning dialogue box number slor to change it within the character panel when you had two text characters selected. Was this removed or did I dream it up?    Wouldn't your cursor change to two opposing arrows when you hovered over the symbol of each?

I have a script that adds a new parent layer and organises pageItems in sublayers. I wish for the view of the new layers to be collapsed rather than expanded and only show the parent layer. Thanks.   

In Adobe Illustrator, is there a way to check the Overprint Preview status (it looks like Overprint Preview is a property of the document) through a script? Hello everyone. I have been struggling for a few days with a problem when creating a script. I want to create a script that will add a bleed to my work on each side and fill it with a mirror image of the design. I have found the perfect solution which unfortunately does not work properly. The script adds the mirroring in the top left corner instead of deploying it near the edges of each page. I want to convert an SVG image to a PNG image that is 1200 pixels wide (as recommended by a journal). To do this, I changed the units to pixels in Illustrator and scaled the image to a W value of 1200. However, when I check the dimensions in the file properties after exporting, it says 2258 x 810 pixels. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can scale the image correctly?

Previously, my shapes were created with no fill..  now shapes r created w gray filll and won't change to no  fill.When i try to fill a pattern. I get the pattern w a gray background!!!!!  ?????????

Hi ,I have a client that wants a Vcard Code using QRCode maker in Illustrator CC. I have used the QRCode Maker in illustrator but every time I scan it I am receiving it as TEXT instead of ADDRESSBOOK. The TEXT version won't allow me to add contact info into my address book. Is there a script or something I need to put at the beginning of the QRCode maker to change it over so it will read like a vCard? I need this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

When i hit "file" "new" nothing happens. screen stays black/blank.

I am running Mac OS 12.2.1 with Illustrator 26.0.3 and all of the sudden the arrow keys stopped working. I have relaunched the application and restarted my laptop and it is not fixing it. Any suggestions?  In Photoshop they work fine so I know it's not the keyboard.   Thanks!

Hi, I'm still using an old AI version, but I don't think it matters here: I'm involved in recreating a logo (that some unknown designer created, and the original Vector art is lost), based on a (hi-res) JPG... The logo is loosely based on Avant Garde font, BUT STILL NEEDS SOME ADJUSTMENTS AND TWEEKINGS.  Doing those changes causes the lines' THICKNESS not to be totally consistent, which is what one expects a logo to be... So my question is, please see below, just like creating a stroke (1), giving it a certain thickness, and then doing an "outline stroke" to get #2, I'm looking for just THE OPPOSITE, take a path (my traced logo), like #2, AND TURN IT INTO A SINGLE STROKE. Then I will give all the letters the appropriate thickness — and then outline them. That way all the letters in the logo will be at a consistent thickness, as a logo is expected to be. Can this be  done? Thanks for your input!

I'm looking for suggestions on best practices for setting up the workflow for designing a logo for use on the web and for traditional printing.In my specific case, I'm facing a problem regarding colors. To decide which color or colors to adopt, I take inspiration from the colors and examples available on the web. So, RGB colors. Questions:1) How do I convert RGB values ​​to CMYK while preserving the color chosen in the RGB profile.2) Illustrator warns when an RGB or CMYK color is outside the Gamut of the set profile. I also get the same warning with the RGB profile and the Web gamut. So, what should I pay attention to and how important are these warnings?

I have a huge collection of fonts that I have been using for years and managing/activating through FontExplorerX.  It seams it is no longer connecting to Illustrator CC2025 (and other current Adobe apps).  Has FontExplorer become obsolete/incompatible?  If so, how can I use my fonts (lots of which are not Adobe Fonts or Google Fonts)?

With writing and symbols created, i choose a background color, however, when sending it to the front, only the writing comes to the front, not the symbol. I have already expanded it and everything else, the error continues, has anyone ever been through this and can help me? grateful 

the screen recording below shows the behaviour of the Selection tool , and is consistent on all objects (text, shape, path, etc). I was working on a vector then wasnt able to scale it, so updated all versions of AI but same behaviour. Is there a setting that was changed? the capslock is off. I was just working in a file a few days ago and was able to see the bounding box and scale as needed.Also, the guides have been behaving differently for months. once i drag it out, i cant select it or move it with the mouse, i have to manually adjust X and Y coordinates. Cant select it to delete it (youll see in the layers panel the little blue 'dot' that indicates a layer is selected doesnt appear. If i highlight the guide layer i can then click the trash icon to delete it). Thought id include in the recording since its been baffling me. Screen Recording of Behaviour 

Hi everyone! I am totally new to illustrator. I'm working on a 3D capsule in Illustrator using the 3D effect. I started with a red color for my object (as seen on the right side of the screenshot), but after applying the 3D effect, the capsule turned white. Does anyone know how I can make the 3D effect keep the red color? Thanks in advance!
