In previous versions of Illustrator I could work on a project and have an Artboard that had additional content around it and when I choose to Save the Artboard Image ONLY I could check the use Artboard box and the PDF would be created for only the content ON THE ARTBOARD not the additional stuff around the work I wanted to use either for Print or the Web.Previous workspaces in Illustrator had placeholder space for additional stuff and worked like a scrapbook around the Artboard or Artboards I had active for that documents workspace. I would choose Save As and choose PDF and check the box to save ONLY the Artboard image.Now the process is a pain in the ass. I work on a Artboard in the documents workspace and I cannot choose to save ONLY the Artboard content to PDF. What I have to do is CROP out everything else in the documents workspace and loose all the assets that where in the documents workspace (they would then be gone and I could not do substitutions etc from the AI (Illustrator fi

Can anyone guide me on to make sure the spacing is the exact same from the left of the inner circle to the first letter for each word?

Hi, I am trying to adapt the text in this stock ai file I licensed on Adobe Stock: File: 1095651026. Unfortunately, the text isn't editable - it is all now in paths and compound paths. I am trying to recreate it and have figured some of it out, and am making myself crazy on other parts.Here is what I have done mostly successfully:Create light grey text with white outlineCopy this and make it white text with white outlineUse a clipping mask to slice the grey text with white outline in half horizontallyPlace this over the white on white text to get they effect of the stock example - ISSUE: This all looks decent BUT adding the white outline makes the glyphs thicker than I really want them. I would rather the outline happen within the shape of the glyphs rather than outside of them, expanding them. Is there a way to achieve this?Here is where I am stuck:5. Hello folks!I am experiencing a hiccup in color selection. If I attempt to manually select the color of an object's stroke, the color will be transferred to the fill instead. I have uninstalled and re-installed Illustrator without retaining preferences and the problem has persisted. Screenshots of what I mean are attached.Any advice is welcome!

Since the last update both my stroke and fill dropdown only change the fill color if I type in a color value. Swatches still seem to work as expected.Resetting my preferences did not help. Is there a setting somewhere I am unaware of?Thanks!

Would it be possible for Illustrator to implement in a future version the possibility of using connectors . Connect two points of an object dynamically so that, for example, if the location of one of the two elements changes, the line connecting them moves accordingly?(as in Libre Office). ?

I am attempting to export a very simple 1-color icon/mark as an .svg file. When I export as .svg, I get black filled in shapes instead of the proper strokes/outlines in the design. I'm uploading an image of the design in Illustrator as well as what it looks like when I export. I have already converted all text to outlines and have attempted to use object>expand on the shapes before export, and that has not solved my problem. No matter how I export to .svg, the shapes are messed up. 

Hi All, I'm trying to print an .ai file to a PDF and I used to be able to print drawings larger than an 8.5"x11" as several sheets that I'd tape together. All of a sudden, all of those options are disabled when I click print. How do I enable the settings below "Print Layers"?

Hello, I'm using the latest version of illustrator, and I can't find how to add a background color to a text box (not the text itself, but it's background). In previous versions there was a menubar at the top with all the possibilities and here i can't see anything like it.I would appreciate your help.  Thank you

How can I select objects which are completely inside the marquee or a lasso? Currently by default illustrator selects all the objects whether they're just touching the selection marquee or are completely inside it, I have to deselect objects that just touch the selection marquee while selection objects which are completely inside my selection box.In AutoCAD, and SketchUp, drawing from right to left while selecting objects selects everything that touches or encloses our marquee, while drawing the selection box left to right, it only selects objects which are totally inside the selection rectangle.Please guide. I am using Illustrator CC 2019 on WIndows 10 

 

No se puede guardar el archivo ya que no se ha podido incrustar la fuente "XXXXX" debido a restricciones de licencia.  Bien, como podéis leer no me deja guardar los archivos... La tipografía tiene licencia, hemos pagado por ella y no hay forma humana de facilitar ni la licencia ni nada que se le parezca. ¿Soluciones? Gracias

Hi all. I'm hoping someone here can solve an issue I've been having for the last year or so. I'm building final hi-res production files for a large food truck currently, but this same issue has been bothering me for many other jobs lately. Let's just say it's a 20ft x 10ft wall and the final print res will be 150dpi. I can create my images in PS no problem and I can save them as either TIF or PSB or even JPEG (file size is not a problem) but when I try to place them into the Illustrator template/dieline all I see is what looks like an empty container. There's a bounding box and I can click and drag it around, but there's no image, not even in the links panel. I read in another forum somewhere from over a year ago that this was a known issue and they suggested embedding the image. That does indeed make it show up properly, but not an ideal solution. I've attached a few screenshots to show the problem. The first is what I'm seeing after placing the image. i am trying to convert a line of text into outlines/path for my vinyl cutter.   HOWEVER, i am using warp effects on the text first.  i can create the text and add teh effect "WARP FAG "but when i select type/create outlines, it only creates the outlines for the hidden origional straightline text.  i am not sure what to do to make it create the paths on the "effect" text path.

Hello everyone, I have a problem in Illustrator when I open any panel. Let's say I open the fonts panel to pick a font. The panel closes by itself 2 seconds after I open the panel, and that goes for every other panel in Illustrator. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?  Thank you.

I am using the program with both English and Turkish language support.My problem is as follows: When I need to add something to a text field in an illustrator document I am working on, it uses a different font beyond my control.I thought I made a mistake in the extensions but I couldn't find it.Please help. :)))

Hi all, Since the latest update of Illustrator(v28.4) and Acrobat (unsure where to confirm version, but it now has AI integrated), I am having an issue with colours from my artboard being fairly more vibrant, almost as if they are RGB values, despite using CMYK swatches and using CMYK workspace.  This issue doesn't occur when Printing as PDF however, or when actually being printed and the CMYK result is accurate. I have noticed it appear particularly more obvious when the print is blue, but does seem to affect all colours. Has anyone else incured this before? I have attached a screenshot with an example of my Artboard next to my result with Save as PDF

I have an AI file that won't save. (Windows 10, Adobe Illustrator 2018 CC) Every time I try to save as an AI file I get an error message saying "Acrobat PDF files is having difficulties. File does not begin with %PDF." It does not include the piece about file being named wrong or other options I've read about, just that it's having difficulties. I've looked through other forums and have tried all of their advice, none of which has worked. I refreshed preferences. I've changed fonts, tried to save as EPS (crashes), changed the file name. I unchecked the box that creates a PDF when saving as .ai. I saved the file in parts with a new name, some of them are opened, and some are not. I wrote in support and they answered me "There are multiple factor both internal and external to application  that can lead to document corruption . The file can get corrupt due to multiple reasons associated with the file itself like the links used in the file , the styles , fonts or any other." ​​​​​​​An
