Questions

I want to divide this shape into two regions. It seems very difficult for me even though I draw line from the anchor point. It is merely becomes a trail and error for me. I watched many YouTube videos, in those presenter did in one go. How to overcome this issue? video is attached.    

Hi all, i have created a shape (Arrow Head) and dragged it into my Library, so i can reuse it in several Artboards and quickly change the "instances" by editing the original shape. No i have to merge / edit some shapes (including those instances), but i couldn`t find a way to convert the instanced shape into a path or make it editable?Thanks in advance for any help / advice!

It just started doing this today, but I think I've had 28.0 for slightly longer, so I'm not sure what changed. I have done all of the steps on the "fix typical crash issues" page (reset preferences, reinstall older versions, update graphics drivers, adobe cleaner tool). The app launches, gets through splash initialization, opens main "home" window where you would see recent files or make new file, seems ok for about 2 seconds, then goes to "not responding" and just hangs forever. So it's not technically "crashing", just indefinitely frozen. Other Adobe apps work still. I am on Windows 11. I tried going back as far as illustrator 27.7 and still does same thing. I did not update or install anything between illustrator working and not working, so I'm very confused. Since it doesnt actually come up with the crash log report dialog, I'm not even sure where to get a crash log from, so if someone could point me to where to find any logs I can upload them.

This is a triangle & straight line in a preview mode and zoom in. There is a anchor point at the corner of the triangle and end of the straight line. I want to place the anchor point of the straight line on the anchor point of the triangle. But imposssible to do so, because it jumps. Is there any way to do this? video is attached as well.        

I can click on Stroke or Opacity in the Appearance Panel, but not on Fill. There is no underline and the word is not clickable. Using Illustrator 2025 cloud document.Anyone else having this issue?

Dear forum, any idea why all controls and tools are gone every time I open Illustrator ( and indesign ) and have to be re-opened and arranged in the side panel windows again? - it seems like the software cannot remember how I arranged my tools from the previous session/works. help is much appreciated 🙂 

Exporting PNGs and files in illustrator has never been a problem for me. Issues arose since yesterday, as I started working on a new project. I'm unsure if I somehow messed with settings without knowing. But when I go to export something as a PNG file, it comes out blurry. In addition, when I go to open the saved png file, the file is zoomed out weirdly.  When I go to export as a PDF, the similar weird zoomed out thing happens again. The difference is, when I zoom in, I can see that the PDF file is not blurry.  (Note: None of this has anything to do with the image, or font, or words / anything I'm using-- it's all very clear assets.) I've attached examples. (1) The view of what I see before going to export (screen inside illustrator)(2) The view after I export as PNG, and open the file(3) The view after I export as PDF, and open the file This is super confusing and a bit frustrating, and I would really be incredibly grateful and appreciative for any h

I'm used to working with the pen tool in Adobe Photoshop, so Illustrator is just different enough to be problematic, since my automatic keyboard shortcut uses don't quite work. My biggest problem when drawing paths in Illustrator is that I can't figure out how to move individual anchor points without moving the entire connected path. I'm sure there's something stupid that I'm missing -- I'm not using the direct selection right, or I don't have the rest of the path deselected properly, or something? But if someone could walk me through how to move only individual anchor points in a path, I would be much obliged. (I am very tired of trying to move anchor points and ending up scooting the entire path along with it.)General Information:Windows Vista (relevant only for keyboard shortcuts, I suppose)Illustrator CS2

I'm still relatively elementary when it comes to Illustrator (pretty familiar in Photoshop), so I'm not sure if this is just my ignorance. But ever since the last illustrator update I can't scale objects or drag text boxes like I used to. Now I have to scale things manually via Transform -> Scale. When I try to just grab a corner and drag to increase Object/Group sizes as I used to it just moves the item and shows the anchor points. Anyone have any insight here if it's just an oversight on my end or an actual bug? Again, been using Illustrator since about 2018 so I'm not too "new", but this is the only issue I've ever had where something seems wrong/different.    

Hello all, Is there any way to rotate my objects and position them vertically relative to the artboard as opposed to the path using the new Objects on a Path tool? I need my objects to be placed on a path exactly the way the tool does, but I need them all individually to be straight up and down to the artboard. I can't seem to find a way to do that all automatically without detaching them once spaced along the path and setting every objects rotation to zero individually under Transform properties. I'd like to be able to do them all at once. Transform Each doesn't do this either.TIA

Hello,  I have been struggling to find the proper settings (mostly thinking about dimensions, resolution and export method) to export the logo found at the end of this post from ai format to png (I have tried JPEG but I'm having trouble finding the right size/quality balance for IG upload so png has been working better). I have tried all sorts of dimensions (from 180 to 1440 pixels by pixels) and resolutions (from 72 to 288 ppi) but it always turns out that it is blurry, in a pretty ugly way, when uploaded as profile picture on Instagram.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bonjour,Je rencontre le problème suivant : Alors qu'il est possible d'utiliser comme point d'ancrage l'angle ("intersection") d'un rectangle, une fois ce dernier intégré dans une opération de miroir, l'utilisation de ce même angle comme point d'ancrage devient impossible. Hello, I have been working on a project in Illustrator now for a while. I am fairly new to Adobe platforms. My project, previously saved as an ai file, now only shows up as an aic file. I'm not entirely sure how aic works, but is there any way I can get this back to an ai file so I can edit it?

iPadでイラストを描くのが好きなのですが、なぜか、イラレなどのアプリを使用したり、iPadを暫く時間を置くと、safariが何度も再起動してしまいます。しかも画像の様にsafariの一部のタブが途中からしか復元できないことがあります。この為、他のアプリを使用する際にsafariと交互に使うしかなくて困っています。どうしても11月11日中にやりたいことなので、safariが頻繁に再起動してしまうのを直したいです。お願いいたします。

Hi, after updating to Illustrator 2025 the programme keeps crashing when I try to do anything saying. I get the spinning wheel and then I'm told that I'm nearly out of app memory. I've never had this problem before and I seem to have enough RAM. Is this a common problem after updating the software? I have cleared caches and logs and updated to the latest operating system, done a clear my mac, and uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing works. Can anyone help please?

Does anyone have a problem lately in Illustrator with copying files from the program to, for example, notepad? I always used to select text with ctrl + a, then ctrl + c and paste into some notepad, email, etc. And now it does not always work 😕😕 Sometimes I have to try to do so several times. Hi i'd like to ask why i can't complete my package in the halfway when i usually do it frequently and was okay, is the size of the file effecting the package process too? cause this one is a pretty big file like more than 500MB and had a lot of links to be attacthed. If anyone could help me resolve this I'll feel grateful thanks!!

I have been trying to use certain draw tools but quite many tools turn out to be locked. Tried the reset setting but that is blocked too. request help with the same.  

I had regular issues with "scratch disk full" errors in Adobe Illustrator when opening/previewing larger files. I purchased a LaCie External SSD Pro 4TB and set this as my primary scratch disk in the Adobe Illustrator settings.Now, whenever I open a file, I don't get a scratch disk error, but there are black boxes on all linked images in the file. When I relink an image, it shows the full image temporarily, and by the time I relink the next one, there are black boxes on the one I just did. I have to save this file as a PDF, but when I do, the black boxes are even on the PDF.iMac 24-inch, M1, 2021 8GB | macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 | Adobe Illustrator v 29.0.1Current settings:This is supposed to be a full bleed image- but it turns black: 

Hello all,I have a file that I need to tile into two halves. It uses the same image. When I save it to a pdf the files are huge because the image, although has a clipping mask, it still saves the whole thing. InDesign has an option to crop image data to the frames. I don't see that feature in Illustrator. Does anyone have a solution or workaround that would give me the same results?
