Somehow I narrowed the star shape tool so that it makes shapes like straight lines instead of a star. How do I reset it? For example, a four-point star looks like the letter X right now.

Since updating to sonoma I've had a number of issues with illustrator. Sometimes it doesn't load and hangs on opening screen so have to force quit. Sometimes it loads works fine until I save and then it hangs so I lose all the work I've done. This is not great considering we pay a subscription.   I've gone down to Illustrator 27.96 as i was getting more problems with v28. Can you please advise on a solution?

Olá, tudo bem?Espero que possam me ajudar! Eu estava editando um arquivo no Adobe Illustrator e, ao utilizar o comando do Pathfinder, o programa travou e fechou inesperadamente. Após reiniciar o Illustrator, tentei abrir o arquivo novamente, mas ele parece ter corrompido.O curioso é que, na tela inicial do programa, o projeto ainda aparece listado com a miniatura visível. No entanto, ao abrir o arquivo, ele está completamente vazio, sem nenhum conteúdo visível.Existe alguma forma de recuperar o arquivo ou o conteúdo dele? Desde já, agradeço pela atenção e qualquer orientação que puderem me dar.

I was given a design. A stripe with a star. I am trying to align my design to the page and registration marks but when i align it its off.  The tip of the star isnt aligned.  I cant fogure out why !? Can anyone help 

Can someone explain it to me why my adobe file be like this? its still can open but not for eps file.also i tried "right click - open with - Ai" but its still not open it. My adobe file detected as "unknown application"    

I saw a post about this back in 2012. However that answer said it was fixed in the next update. I am trying to open a file, but when I do, it automatically expands the shapes? Is there a setting to stop this from happening?

Bonjour, je n'arrive pas déplacer mon objet sur ma grille de perspective avec l'outils selection de perspective (dans mon fichier specifiquement dans un autre j'ai réussi). Même avec la "distorsion de l'envelloppe" ça ne marche pas j'ai un message d'erreur qui apparaît. Le problème vient-il de l'objet ou de ma grille, je suis coincée. Quelqu'un a une idée ? Merci

since I changed my plan I dont have illustrator beta just the regular. It crashes on every project and sins most of the time. how do I clear out cache I heard it could help. My computer Mac M2 15.1

Hi can anyone please help? I just spent 6 hours working on a project only for Adobe to crash. On investigation, the "autosave function" was not working even though turned on. When I try to open the backup aid file, Illustrator just keeps crashing. Can someone please, please help.

Hi allI work in large format printing and i need to use Ai to impose multiple A5 artworks on a 8x4ft artboard, I have 15 files that are approx 500mbs each, i place them on my artboard (which takes too long), then i step and repeat them so i have an overall total of 75 A5 artworks on my artboard. I have upgraded my pc to a super high spec machine but im still facing low performance, its it possible to have the linked files, reduced somehow, or is there any suggestions?Surely the artwork in my artboard should be a low resolution visual representation of the linked file in my folder and performance should be lightening fast. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi everybody,I would like to create an image to attach to an e-mail. Such an image should have clickable parts linked to certain pages in the browser. I create both email (with the attached illustration) and pages.Is it possible to do this kind of work with illustrator?If so, how would I go about hosting the pages?Thank you in advance for any kind of suggestions you may be able to provide. 

So, i followed the instructions as "Preference" -- "Type" -- choose "Show Indic Options".Then went to "Paragraph", selected as below: Then when i copied and pasted, i still got this: (copied red texts from Word, got black texts pasted in Illstrator) Does anyone know what should i do to fix the Arabic text direction problem?Someone mentioned there's any option in the "Paragraph" panel that could choose "Right-to-Left" or "Left-to-Right" direction, but why i couldn't see the option here? Mine is 24.2.1 version. Thanks a lot!

My iPad Pro 11inch (3rd gen) is up to date with 18.1 OS. Illustrator keeps freezing up, I'm using a simple file, nothing fancy to take a lot of memory. It doesnt matter the file actually I've tried multiple. I've restarted and reinstalled the app and still no change.

For context I am working on a project for college and I am making stuff at home, on a laptop, with connected creative cloud. I worked on making these pieces the whole weekend and I come back to campus to continue to work, this time on my PC, which can handle illistrator just fine, but find that the files won't export. I come to find out that my artboards are missing in all my files, not just the ones that I worked on over the weekend. I try to put a new art board in, but it won't place. I go to the artboards window and I can't add a new art board either. The only way I have found to "fix" this is to copy what I made and paste it into a new file, but after exporting, saving, and reloading illistrator to see if that fixed things, the art boards were gone again. Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm pretty sure this has been happening to me since I got it on my pc, I don't know why this is happening either. 

Bonjour, Voilà, nous sommes plusieurs sur Illustrator dans notre équipe et nous utilisons des éléments communs régulièrement. La bibliothèque cloud est donc utile pour nous. Malheureusement, on peut ajouter facilement des textes préformatés, des graphiques et des couleurs, mais je ne trouve pas comment ajouter des nuances (pour nous utiles car nous utilisons des motifs répétitifs) et des formes (pour des bordures, contours). Je sais que l'on peut créer et sauvegarder des fichiers de nuances et de formes à part, mais cela oblige à les charger dès qu'on en a besoin, hors il serait plus simple d'y avoir aussi accès via cette bibliothèque partagée. Est-ce qu'il y a une manip à faire spécifique que je n'aurai pas trouvé ou est-ce que cela n'est pas du tout possible à faire ? Merci pour votre aide !

Hello Fellow Creatives,I've activated the 'Alisha' font (by Laura Worthington Type) available through Adobe. Once I typed something into Illustrator with this font, it looked nothing like the preview on the Adobe Fonts page. This has never happened to me before.Any idea what the issue could be? Below is a screenshot comparison done in Illustrator of what the font should look like.  Thanks in advance!    

Hi, fairly new user here. I'm using Illustrator on my iPad and can't find a clear way to crop an image? It's probably right in front of me but I am at a loss.Thanks in advance 

HELP!  When printing in Illustrator (and now in all Adobe apps) all of the sudden my lines (multiple diagonal lines for background) are showing crooked in print preview and printing all wiggly.  (But not in the document that I'm editing or working with.) I have done a hard re-boot on my desktop, uninstalled all Adobe apps & re-installed, and still the problem persists.  It is not my printer, Word prints just fine.  This was not an issue until a day ago or so.  I had printed the image and went to print another and it came out all crooked.   The plaid background also came out wrong.  (This was a jpeg that was paisted into Illustrator and cropped a little to fit 8x11. Even an un-edited image with straight lines prints lines crooked.)(New Dell computer as of this year running Windows 11 Home edition)Thank you!!! 

How to make it sure  that  User Defined colors are retained under any circumstances? Because I found that User Defined colors are lost. I do not know when. There were many illustrator crashes & reseting of the computer system.
