Questions

Anyone who sets up large format artwork for print, knows this message. Why is this still a thing? Is there not a simple way to make the drawing area bigger? So often we're fitting artwork into a template, and even though artwork is clipped, we still are fighting the expensive software to do a basic task. has anyone found a work around for this bug or differnt large format print software? 

I'm searching for a way to convert a YS colorcode (YS 740 ; used in china) to rgb or cmyk or any code, you can use in Adobe products.I already tried figure out how to do this for about a whole afternoon, but I couldn't find any help. So, does anyone of you know a way or a website where you can do this, or even the code for YS 740?Thanks!

Can anyone please help me? I am not being able to type joint letters. I have tried with 'Avro' and 'Bijoy' software to type. I have also tried by copying and pasting.  But everytime I type a joint letter it breaks down into elemental letters.  Thanks in advance.

The natural alignment of the text is set to have the bottom of the text sit to the bottom of the path when you use the 'Type on Path'.  (Pictured Left). I am wanting to find an easy way to'Type on Path' so that the text is aligned on the path in its centre. (Pictured Right).Does anyone have any idea on how I could achieve this? I have lots of small bits of text that are aligning on an angle, so I'm trying to avoid doing this manually.  Thanks in advanced!  

I'm having a tuff time searching around for solutions on this. Just bought a new Dell U2412M. Maybe I'm nit-picking too much, but my type in Illus looks slightly pixelated on the curves. I have anti-aliasing turned on in the pref and I'm zoomed at 100. Is there a way inside Illus I can fix this? Or is it just the limitations of my monitor?

Hi everyone, I need help with the bullet and number insert in Illustrator. As you can see from the picture, it is empty and I cannot reset nor add anything to the bullet and number menu. I try to do it manually way by creating a paragraph style but it also disappears whenever I close the app and open it the next day.  I hope someone can help me, this problem started after I installed/deleted something else on my laptop.  

We use shared colour libraries in Illustartor however there's a bug where the colours retain the name in the library, but when you click on the colour to fill an object, that colour is now a CMYK value not the named colour.  This occurs if it's a custom made name or a Pantone.    This issue is happening across multiple computers and systems so would like to know when this will be fixed. Thanks

My team and I are having a problem with our shared CC Library repeatedly breaking our colour swatches. We have them saved as Spot colours and they are supposed to be added to the file in use once they are being used. After a short amount of time, they are changing to process colours and are no longer being added to the swatch panel. We have been trying to fix the swatches in the library but they keep breaking, even within the same day/hour. Wondering if there's a way to fix this. 

I have attached this artwork, I have no idea how to close the gap to make this a full circle. Any help would be appreciated! I am a total novice at this!

Without having changed any settings, I went from having no issues at all with multipage PDFs created using multiple artboards, then all of a sudden Command F and the size the PDF renders in changed. 1) When I copy work from a PDF created in Illustrator with only one artboard into a multi-artboard document, Command F does not paste to the selected artboard to to ANY artboard, but rather just randomly places the work floating in the workspace. 2) With everything set to high quality print, 300dpi, etc and having changed nothing at all from when I was not experiencing these problems, all of a sudden my PDFs started showing up at 1/10 the actual size they should be. The quality of the images is still there - I can zoom in without losing clarity - but when I'm opening my PDF in Preview it is reduced in size. When I click a menu option on the top bar like "Object" The drop down menu doesn't display all the options. You have to scroll to find everything. See picture 1. This is due to using the new windows style tabs I believe. The "Effect" tab still show in a more condensed fashion and everything fits nicely. See picture 2. Is there a way to make it so all the drop down menus fit on screen and I don't have to scroll all the time?

The subject of spell-checking has come up in our forum.On the whole, it doesn't work for most people.For proofreading myself I export a txt....I have an osx system where the typing language is Polish and the display language is English. Is there a way to achieve transparent space between a fill layer and a stroke layer with LIVE TYPE using the Appearance menu?This is a mockup of what I am trying to achieve where there is a stroke offset from a live text layer with transparency between the fill and the stroke. There are many workarounds, but I would like to be able to create and save this type of effect as a graphic style that is editable and not dependent on a specific background object.The idea here is to create transparent space between the fill layer and the stroke layer. I thought that setting the outer stroke as the bottom layer, and the middle (transparent) stroke as the knockout stroke, that would do the trick. But nothing seems to work. Hello,I'm trying to excecute the 3D and Materials design on a simple star (and on other vectors) and I always get a low quality result. Nothing like all the YouTube videos after rendering on high quality and reducing noise. I always end up with some noise around the edges and it just doesn't look good.My graphic card is NVIDIA RTX 4060 version 537.70 The star is attached Can someone please help here? Thanks

I am trying to use the frame tool in illustrator. I want to create a layout of empty frames and fill them with images via drag and drop like you can do in Indesign... but the frame tool doesn't seem to exist in Illustrator? That can't be true surely?

Ive got a mac Studio with 192GB of Ram, M2 Ultra chips ands 8TB of storage and can't drag a Godd**n object across the screen in Illustrator without 9 stops a long the way of freezing, lags and pauses. Keep in mind I am not trying to do anything wild like scroll a PDF file in Acrobat, I am just moving a basic circle in Illustrator and face non-stop lag. I updated Illustrator to the latest, no help.  Just incredible to me. How many years now Adobe has this crap been going on for Mac users? Like how is your whole development team or your head of engineering not fired yet and the group totally replaced? No software in the world could be this badly optimized without facing serious consequences. You already lost to Figma on UI design, all that is needed now is someone to make a better illustration application and photo editing suite and its over. I cleared preferences and all the normal vanilla fixes you guys post all the time here. Is there any actual update to this issue? Go

Why wont illustraitor download on these windows specs? they are the newest version, and will it be updated to work on this?

If I open an existing Illustrator file, the program freezes on a blank screen and nothing happens. I can open the program Illustrator, but if I wan't to open a file from there or create a new file, also here the program freezes . I use the most recent Illustrator version (28.6). I uninstalled and re-installed the program, but had exactly the same problem after that. I installed an older version (Illustrator 27.7), but also with that version the same problem appears. Yesterday everything worked fine, nothing changed on my computer since then (no updates, no crashes). Photoshop and Indesign are working fine. I use Windows 11.

Hi there, Ive been facing a "text import option" error on my ilkustrator file. I have seen a few post regarding that and they say its due to Device being closed while the file was saving. I have tried recvering it but i wasn able to. Is there any thing else i can do? Pleasee helppp

When I create a new action and input -0.11 in the offset path and save the action, when I load this action again, the offset -0.11 automatically changes to 0.11. How can I ensure that the negative value is preserved and does not change to a positive number? What can I do to resolve this?   I am using Illustrator CS6.   Thank you

I disable hyphenation for a text box, and when I copy it up to start a new one some how hyphenation is re-enabled... can someone please help me fix this baffling behavior?

Hi, I've just got a new PC at work and found user interface cannot be scaled. Under Preferences/User interface I cannot see an option for scaling.   I have a 4k monitor and windows is scalled to 150% in display preferences (by default / as recommended). However, I would like Illustrator icons to be a bit bigger, but I can't do this. Just by curiuosity I installed an older version of Illustrator (v.27.0) and that works fine and offers the scaling of the user interface. That made me realise this is a bug/missing feature in the latest Illustrator (28.7.1) that needs fixing.   I hope this info will reach them developers and sort this out ASAP. Thanks    

We are planning get a new M-type Apple machine for one of my colleagues. Top of the notch. It will be used for making escape plans in illustrator. We will recieve very high detailed drawings probably produced in autocad. They are usualy one layered documents with a huge amount of lines and hatches. Typically drawing of oil rig installations. Quite complex.   We need to remake them after a certain standard and make them readable and printabel before installation There will be no use of 3D effects or other resource demanding functions. What will be the appropriate RAM level with a brand new apple machine. I would guess somewhere between 32-64GB RAM. Would it be any point in getting more then this?Is it a limitation to how much RAM illustrator can accsess?Thanks for any feedback!
