hello, ive been tring to get the stroke to show in my font but for some reason when i add the 3d extrude effect the stroke wont show on some of the letters. Not sure why i was wondering if someone could help me. I noticed  it only happens to the letters i used the shape builder tool on. 

Why don't I feel that it's not centering right.The guid is in the center, but when I center align to the artboard it doesn't seem to aling to the center??

I know how to turn off layer thumbnails for a single file, but is there a way to make it the default? I think my complex files work better when they aren't using resources to render the thumbnails.

I need to print all the colors in my swatches panel with my desk printer or just produce a pdf.Someone know how I can print all the colors without coloring any object, just print the colors present in the panel “automatically”?

I got this "simple" code for generating DATAMATRIX (ascii) (link).It works great in Extend Script but doesn't work in Illustrator.Please help.

Can anyone tell me how to select a bunch of images and text and then make them proportionally smaller or bigger? I used to select what I wanted and then grab a corner, hold down shift, and drag inward, but it didn't give me that option. Am I missing something here?

I've been having issues with my top menu. Since updating my Illustrator the top menu on my 1920x1080 screen gets automatically shortened and I'm forced to clic top and bottom arrows to look through all options.The menu looks normal when I use my 2560x1440 screen so I assume there must be some kind of option to change back the menu to normal. Does anyone know how to fix it? 

I have installed new drivers for my gpu (nvidia quadro p2000), uninstalled and installed illustrator as well but nothing happens. In photoshop however does everything work fine 

Unbelievable I pay $400 per year for Adobe when all it does is crash and bug out.  I cannot select or move text on my design in Illustrator. It is not locked, I have shut down my laptop and restarted illustrator a few times.  

I try to create a portrait in pencil strokes of a photograph and I can't get it to respect the model of the photo. I've been doing tests for 3 hours and I've gotten close but it's not what I'm looking for. Could you help me with any advice? Thank you.

I'm experimenting with Transparency.I have one object which I want to set the "Fill" opacity to 50%.The stroke should not change accordingly? But it does not seem to stay at 100% opacity?What am I missing?Looks like I can't set the Fill and Stroke opacity separately, such as in InDesign?

Espero que estejam bem!`a ferramenta nota` que tem no photoshop,  preciso dela no illustrator para adicionar informações de grande importancia na hora da grafica elaborar a impressão do arquivo da forma correta. Dúvida: há algum plugin/extensão ou ferramenta no illustrator que faça esta anotação? 

Every time I alt-tab a screen application or even go out of a fullscreen YouTube video, Creative Cloud opens and prompts me with the Illustrator preference options keep, remove, or cancel, I have tried to clear my cash, force uninstall Illustrator and Creative Cloud, and removed everything using the cc cleaner and even got a fresh install of windows, but it still gives me this pop up every time I change any program on my PC.  I don't know what else I could attempt, and it's starting to get on my nerves, any help would be appreciated. The only difference is that I don't install it under the standard C-drive.

I am writing a script that checks the designer's work for unexpanded graphics. Since further work with Enveloped objects, Applied appearance (or Applied Live Effects) is dangerous for transferring and printing.I can't find a method or function that would help me check if the current object in the sorting algorithm has unexpanded graphics or effects. At the moment, the only thing I can think of is that such objects cannot be expanded via ExecuteMenuCommand( 'Expand3') and should be expanded via ('expandstyle'). The script is quite functional for objects and groups containing up to 100 PathItems. After that, a super lag occurs, which can hang Illustrator in "not responding" mode for 5-10 minutes. I've used the character tool for doing strikethrough, underlying in the past with no issue.  I highlight the desired text for the attribute, click on the strikethrough box on the character tool and nothing happens.  I've used this numerous times in the past.  I've tried adding a new text box and I have the same results.  I sent my file to a friend, she had no problem doing it on my file.  She sent the file back to me, and the strikethrough shows, but on her file I can't unchange it.  Makes me think it it is my setup.  I tried doing an update to latest version, and still doesn't work.  Thinking now to do complete uninstall and reinstall.  Any other suggestions.  FYI, I'm not a regular user, but know enough to get done what I need done.

I am following a "Illustrator for Beginners- Free Course" on Youtube. Though the video is from 2020, both the instructor and I have Illustrator CC. I have ensured that I am using the Essentials Classic. I have enabled the "Scale Strokes & Effects" as well as "Scale Corners" under Preferences within the General Tab. Once doing this, I even rebooted the program.  I do see the Scale Icon on the left window, but once clicked on, no other options show up for me to select or deselect "use preview bounds" "scale corners" or "scale strokes and effects" on the right window where my Properties and Libraries are. My challenge is I need to scale my strokes and effects so that when I resize my image, the strokes and effects resize with the image. Please help. Thanks.

Hi everyone,Since the latest update, I am experiencing issues with importing AutoCAD files into Illustrator. Whenever I try to open or place an AutoCAD file, Illustrator fails to recognize or process the file correctly, making it impossible to continue my work.Has anyone else encountered this problem? Hello there,I experience one super annoying problem quite often in Illustrator:When I zoom in (Ctrl + "+") with an object or several selected, the object is moved just a little bit to the right. It is exactly as if I used the arrow right key.Does anyone else have that problem or is that due to my laptop?This is really dangerous as I need to be extra aware when finalizing print data.

Hi all! I hope you are all having a wonderful day wherever you are in the world. I am trying to use Illustrator and have not had any issues with it until today. When I open it, it doesn't fully load, there are no tools or anything. I have attached a screenshot to show what it looks like. When I try opening an existing file, it doesn't let me click on it or anything. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and the issue remains. I can still use photoshop fine. Please help!

The interface UI font fails to follow the Windows system settings. A lot of serif fonts are used in Chinese, making it very difficult to distinguish.The red part does not follow the operating system font, and the blue part correctly follows the operating system font. In Chinese Windows, the default font of the operating system is "Microsoft Yahei"

I'm running Illustrator on Windows 10 with an Nvidia RTX4070ti (latest studio driver). The last 3 or 4 updates have been completely unstable and crashes every few minutes while trying to work. It seems to be completely random - opening files, saving files, deleting layers, making changes to a shape ... pretty much anything.It was fine up to maybe version 26, then from 27 onwards it has become unusable. It gives no warning, I get the spinning cursor like it's trying to do something, then disappears.Wondering if it is the gfx card as I switched from a 3070ti to the 4070ti.Will try going back to early v26, but that's not useful if clients are supplying artwork from latest version.

Hello community!When trying to save a pattern in Illustrator and going to use it from the Swatches > User Defined section, they either show empty or they show plain colors.Method I use to save: Open the .ai pattern in Illustrator > Swatches > Save Swatches . I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I tried a couple of patterns and it worked, but after that no pattern that I save using the same method is saving properly. Could you please help? Thanks!

I have seen this question posted a bunch of times yet none of them are answered correctly it seems. When I try and paste or place a png with a transparent background into Illustrator CS6 (Windows 8.1 64) it does not recognize the transparency. The silly workaround that I have found is dragging/pasting into Powerpoint first and then cutting and pasting into Illustrator, et voila, transparent background is preserved. What is going on? How can I fix this super annoying problem? Thanks in advance.
