I can't open AI. Always, 'Initializing plug-ins VectorizeUI.aip' makes a mistake and shuts down.

Can anyone help me find a way to preview my vector files without opening each file? There must be an easy way but I can't find it. 

Hello, I am expiriencing a rather sh*tty bug/problem. I am working in Indesign and illustrator in splitscreen (50/50) mode. When I am opening another illustrator file the window moves to a random (so it seems) position on my monitor. The 2 open files are within the same window but the second file (newly opened) dictates the position of the window. I think its not related to how (at what position) i've closed it the last time. It looks like it opens to a random position (sometimes to the full left, or bottom or top). I've tried a lot of things like application frame, every button in the UI interface menu, even solutions from indesign and acrobat but without any succes.  Am i looking in the wrong place or is this something that simply cannot be fixed?  Thanks in advance!

When I check the "use artboards" and save as an eps, Illustrator saves two copies the file – eg. "name.eps" and "name-01.eps". I want to be able to use the artboards feature without having to delete an extra file every time. Is there a way to disable or turn off this feature? And please don't tell me not to check the "use artboards" box--that's the method I need to use.(And out of curiosity, why is this a feature in the first place? What is the benefit of two identical files? I'd love to be enlightened!)

Hi everyone, hop you are doing well. I am creating an extension in which i am loading and saving data from .txt files. when i installed extesion using ZXP Installer and load Illustrator, it load and works fine. during extension usage. it creates a folder "data" in extension's folder. After using app, i close the Illustrator app and reload it. at that time it i am checking if "data" exists in extension's folder, load data in extension from it but it doesn't load. not even a single control on extension panel. if i manually remove that folder, close illustrator and load it again, it works fine. Can any body tell me what can be the reason behind this? Regards.

Why does my AI file appear differently on other people's computers?????为什么我的AI文件在别人电脑上显示的部分图片会倒过来呢？这也太可怕了？而且这些图片素材本身就是正常的照片，没有倒过的。我所使用的AI软件都是正版的，按月付费的，现在能出现这种可怕的情况，让人不敢交付文件啊！！！

Moin, ich versuche heute schon seit einer Ewigkeit ein in ai erstelltes Dokument als jpg, png oder tiff zu exportieren. Ich habe u.a. weißen Text auf rotem Grund. Nach dem Export ist der text verschwunden. Alle anderen Bildelemente sind vorhanden. Auch das umwandeln in Pfade vor dem export hilft nicht. Auch das wechseln der Schriftart hilft nicht. Färbe ich den Text schwarz, erhalte ich nach dem export ein komplett weißes jpg, png oder Tiff. Auch ein  schließen und erneut öffnen des Programms hilft nicht weiter. Ich habe die Datei sogar schon einmal komplett als zweites, neues Dokument nachgebaut, mit dem gleichen Ergebnis. Keine ahnung was da los ist.Weiß vielleicht jemand Rat? 

File created in InDesign, exported as pdf. When I open the pdf in Illustrator, the dingbat bullet changes from the original glyph to something different.  This is a new problem since the recent update.  (SO many problems with this update).

Hi there, I use a lot of bitmap textures in my work and recently when I move them around they show as lines. If I change mode to outline and back to artwork they show correctly but its very annoying. See attached of what it should look like compared to the lined version. My Mac is quite new, system upto date and the newest version of Illustrator. Anyone had this issue? Thanks

Hi everyone,I'm trying to create a wireframe black hole effect in Adobe Illustrator, starting with a square shape on the outside. I'm aiming for a spiral, 3D grid that gets darker as it goes inward. Any tips on tools or techniques to achieve this? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to generate multiple shapes simultaneously using WIDTH x HEIGHT from a CSV worksheet of dimensions? Similar to the way varaiable data is used in Adobe Illustrator. The attached image describes a more detailed process with letters and saving but I'd like to just find a way to accomplish making the shapes. I basiclly have a list of W x H dimensions and need way to generate a lot of boxes with a single task. I only need to process around 10 shapes at a time but I need to do about 5K shapes all with different dimensions. Entering every value manually will take forever and I was hoping to automate this task.    

The top selected object must be a path, a compound shape, a text object, or a group of those. As usual, Adobe's so called "Help" is anything but. "Only vector objects can be clipping masks; however, any artwork can be masked." Well, what is a Rectangle? Not a vector? Why on Earth would Illustrator not let a Rectangle be used for a clipping mask?   Why would this be active if it is not a possible operation?   Who's idea was it to make simple operations baffling, impossible and openly hostile to users trying to get some work done?  Why would this not be a simple and quick function?  Can anyone at Adobe explain this philosophy?      

why the "fi" buttom is grey out here? i want the "i" could be seprated from "f",  please help. (the font here is Roboto" and the ligature feature is annoying , is there anyway i can set it in my illustrator preference that to turn off ligature completely for any future docments? thank you.

OK, I've tried about 20 different ways to do this, and nothing is working. I have a bunch of shapes (lines and polygons), and I want to "cookie cutter" out the center of the whole thing. So in the screenshot shown, I want the gray part to disappear, along with everything directly behind it. How do I do that? 

It just freezes for a second when dragging or entering a group of layers. It is so annoying and frustrating, and when I try to enter a group for instance, it makes a selection of layer/group of layers and drags it to the direction of cursor.

I am uncertain how to utilize the script menu in Adobe Illustrator. I cannot comprehend the information provided by the Adobe Help menu and various explanatory videos on YouTube. I would be grateful if you could suggest a written or visual resource. For instance, I would appreciate guidance on how to create a .jsx file. I am awaiting your assistance.

Hi,I have been using adobe for years and never has this happend to me. I do reports evey week and this week when I open the reports I now get these black verticle lines on each page. Seems like a water mark of some kind possibley security but thats all I can think of. When I open this file in Adobe Reader I can see it just fine no lines full report.. its only illistrator. Any ideas... I could really use help as I do this weekly and this stops me in my tracks.

ai says it's too busy to generate an image for a prompt... for days now. i did research, and was told to delete cache - i tried to run what it said %temp% to delete temp folders, I deleted all, but it didn't help. There something weird about illustrator cache - can't actually even find it in files. i'm using windows. can someone help me resolve this problem?

I'm looking for a simpler way to create something similar to this when using variable fonts, where each character has random values for any of the axis of the variable font, whether there's only one axis or two or three.Is that even possible or is there any plugin for this? At a font-level, I know it's not possible, as Illustrator would use the font but the values per character would be the same.Any help would be amazing.Thanks,Fran  

I am using the basic graphics line pattern swatch as a fill on several shapes.I need to convert those individual lines to vector.How can I do that?

Win 10, v27.2, NVIDIA 497.29   Hi, I can sometimes copy / cut and paste in Illustrator, sometimes not. This has only been noticed in the last day or so. Could be tied to certain documents, unclear as of yet. I have tried copying (when it works) a document's contents into a new do, and the problem persists, which may indicate that there is a problem with some of the artwork?   When it doesn't want to copy it doesn't matter if I'm using keyboard shortcuts or the menu option, the copy operation does not work and the paste menu items remain greyed out. Very similar to the symptoms reported here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/copy-paste-command-not-working/td-p/13368238   I'd class this as a critial bug, as it's affecting basic system functions.   Copy and paste are working fine in all other apps tested.   Any help or guidance much appreciated, as this is seriously affecting my ability to deliver for clients.   [Renamed by Mod

Hello, this is probably going to be stupid, but maybe someone here will be willing to help me. At work, I mentioned that I sometimes draw something digitally, and suddenly they rushed at me asking if I would do the graphics for next year's Easter collection. Making it normally colored probably isn't such a problem, but for me, a figure that is printed in gold is a problem. They gave me the information what pantone did they use. However, I read that adobe works with pantone only when you purchase pantone, the application/access of which is a problem for many people. Is there any alternative to create a good background for such a print? Alternatively, can I ask for a how-to tutorial, but for a moron? My English is not very good. Thank you very much.
