I use this all the time as I create large adjoining walls for booths that have to match and for the elements i use, i need to increase the Pasteboard. Has this option been moved or renamed for some crazy reason?Crazily, I can load an old document that i have increased the pasteboard size, and I can use that, but we should not have to use workarounds for such a fundamental feature!

Is it possible for fonts to display the list as a floating panel. And can we have1- Ability to select text in the artboard while the "Font Selector" panel is open.2- Show the preview of the fonts on the right side inside "Font Selector" panel.3- Ability to write the text inside "Font Selector" panel and display that text as a preview.4- Following #3, Ability to drag the desired font text from "Font Selector" panel to the Illustrator artboard

Would be a really great feature to keep layer structure, when grouping elements.At the moment everything grouped automatically collapses into one layer.The simplest way to explain it would be similar to having saved selection sets.The benefits for grouping across layers include:Managing different components/groups of design elements while retaining layer hierarchyKeeping grouped colours or thicknesses or object types separateBeing able to transform a selection without losing layer order, and without losing that selection later.Having visual layering and overlapping keep fidelityKeep elements apart for animation(after effects) but grouped for control in illustratorPlease consider adding this as it would be very useful.In my current workflow I group elements that have been sorted by layer, group to keep these together, make changes(size, position and artwork changes), then once all groups have been finalised, ungroup and sort into layers again. usually over complex artwork/designs/scenes

I am creating a 3d can artwork and the can is a deep black. I had the label with the black in the background, but then I lost the lighting effect so I took the background out since I created the 3d Can Black, but now my lighting has this jaggedness to it from the lighting. I have played with the softness, roughness of material, rendered with ray tracing, change the document raster render settings to 300 dpi. I just need it to be smooth like the can next to it (old design and we are updating) and I am just hitting a wall.

ILLUSTRATOR: Grouping Causes unpredicatable mask. Items become invisible Grouping 2 or more items seems to create a mask and some elements become invisible. It seems very random since it has been happening with simple object and more complex one alike. Grouping should just mean the items are selectable and positionable together, with not altering the appearance. Basic function for file management and productivity. This is happening since the last update Dec 2025 V30.1

The error preventing Illustrator from opening is: dvasystemcompatibilityreport.dll was not found. I have tried numerous methods, including using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to completely remove everything and reinstalling from scratch, but I still cannot open the Illustrator application. Other applications like Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere are still working normally. 

Why is the object on Path greyed out?Since update nothing works in Illustrator, very frustrating. MacBook Pro M1 Max / 64 GB / Tahoe 26.1Illustrator 30 

Hi everybody!A simple rectangle, filled with Effect / Texture / Grain / Horizontal. When rotating that rectangle by let’s say 20°, the mentioned effect seems to stay unrotated, so its orientation is no longer aligned with the orientation of the (now rotated) rectangle.What to do in order to rotate the mentioned effect according to its object?Thanks a lot!

I'm having issues with Abobe Illustrator (30.1) running on a Mac Studio M4 Max (48GB) , OS 26.2 (Tahoe). Having searched on google it appears this as been an issue for some time.When I expand a text box by dragging points or move a object by dragging. The text box or object jumps and this action also peforms an undo function. I.e you loose the last few steps.If i toggle off the GPU performance and Realtime drawing it resolves the issue but Illustrator is very laggy, not really usable. If I toggle these settings back on it's O.K. for 30mins then the problem returns. I know I only have 48Gb of ram but that should be ok surely, It seems to be an issue with the GPU. All my other software works like a dream so i don't think it's a hardware issue. Any ideas?   

Hi so my file is an illustrator file but for some reason this pop up appeared.   I clicked into it and it directed me to this. and then when i opened it up in windows it seems like actually i already have the software they want me to install? so i already have it but i still cant open my file to edit coz once I click OK the whole file closes.  

why are all the offset options greyed out??

I have a pdf I imported and it has an vector-graphic of a street sign. there are actually two images of these graphics sitting on top of each other. I bought Astute Graphics' Vector First Aid, which has a "remove duplicate art" function that works when I create the same situation from scratch, but it won't work for this file (I have reached out to Astute but have not heard back).There is something odd though. the graphic has had all clipping masks removed and has been ungrouped and nothing is locked together. However, if I click on one of the letters, it selects only that one letter, if I draw a box around that same letter (not click-select, but box-select) it will select almost all of the letters as though they are grouped. I doubled checked and that selection is no grouped, locked so I don't know why that is happening. Is there another stting that will group a bunch of seperate vectors together? attached is the file. I have literally hundreds of these I need to prep for printing

When I create Paragraph and Character styles, either from a script or a C++ plugin, the new styles only appear in the styles panels after I create a new style manually. With a script it sometimes works to add a "redraw();" at the end of the script. I want to add my styles during creation of a pluginGroup from C++. How can I get it to refresh the styles panels? 

Does anyone know how graph designs are stored internally in the Illustrator document. I know how to create styles and save them as designs but is there a way to access these design elements programatically from a C++ plugin?

Hi everyone! I'm a complete beginner in Illustrator and I am following the Adobe Illustrator CC - Essentials Training Course on Udemy. In one of the lectures he goes over how to use the shape builder tool to draw a Penrose ("impossible") triangle starting from a bunch of lines. I followed his exact steps, but the result came out different. Below you can see the setup: a bunch of lines with extra bits sticking out, which we want to delete.I hit ctrl+a to select everything, then with the shape builder I delete the bits sticking out, but the result is the image below, which has the pointy bit missing at the top.I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. The "Gap detection" feature of the shape builder is turned on and set to Large.Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I am printing from Adobe Illustrator onto Epson Premium Presentation Paper Matte with an Epson Ecotank 3850. I forgot to check borderless on my first print so second go round, I checked borderless and checked "do not scale" and "retain size", all the applicable settings. I have a 0.25" bleed set up with image expanded to the bleed. It printed to the edge, however my colors are all blown out and faded and gone is the crisp edges of the lettering which now has a faint "glow" around the edges.. I have searched and searched and all I can find is "it just automatically stretches the image when printing borderless" but I just don't want to accept that. I feel like there must be a setting either on the AI side or printer side that I am missing and the setting I chose is getting overidden? The ONLY things I changed between print 1 and print 2 was checking "borderless" and choosing "retain size" in the Settings>Expansion box (therefore unchecking auto expand) within the printer dialog box an

Hi, Inside Illustrator when any generative AI stuff is created, where all the creation history saved?I tried finding but unable to locate any.

In this file, the vertical measurement should be 10.75 inches.  That is the correct dimension of the rectangle height.  Why doesn't my measurement (from the measurement tool) match it?  It is reading 10.69 inches. When I click on the rectangle path I can see that the lower left hand corner is not matching the nodes.How do I fix this?   https://illustrator.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:88e74ff3-a20c-4d63-a57b-3cf7066550bc

Is there a way to change the units of the measurement tool to fractions rather than decimals?Or can you edit a dimension which is already in place to type the fraction in?I've not been successful at trying to edit the dimension or find a setting to change them to fractions.

Hi! I am trying to help my friend with a project for her kids graduating class of 2026, and they are swimmers. I created a laneline graphic, and I want to be able to make it curve into the shape of a 2. I thought maybe there woud be a way to do this by making a 2-shaped path, or maybe envelope distort, and I don't know if its because the laneline graphic is not one entity (it is still just all of the separate ellipses I made grouped together; when I tried to convert to shape, it refused, and of course when I tried to just make a compound path it turned them all the same color)? Or if there is a different way it can be done? I swear there is a way to make it into one shape/object, but honestly I forget how. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I tried to search, but couldn't find anything except for how to get repeating shapes on a path, which isn't what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Hello. I'm using Adobe Illustrator v 30.1 I'm going through tutorials and creating simple shapes, circles and squares. The tutorial has me use the direct select tool to grab the shape and then grab the anchor point and move it to modify the shape. But when I grab the anchor point it just moves the entire object. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

how to back to the old version. I use new version 30.1 open a pdf file lose photos. It's so terrible.
