Sorry, I need bigger text. I just got a new computer with two touch screens and a pen. I am now able to draw in Illustrator with my pen and fingers, and not a mouse anymore. Yeah, that is hard, but I was good at it (25 years)! To my point, I can't pick up and drag any objects, points, or handles without this transform box with all the scale, reflect, and so on and so forth. Before, the only way it opened was if I went to the top nav bar and found it under object. I want it to go back to that; I don't want it to pop up every time I touch my pen to my screen. I am not even clicking the side buttons as I don't hold my pen there. That takes special thought, as I am still very new to using a pen.  How do I turn this off? Please help me! Im trying to add a pattern to an object in a drawing that I am doing, but it keeps showing tile edge and vertical lines in the pattern that I cannot get rid of? Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, but I can never fix it. I have undone transform patterns, I have even scaled, but it scales together with the lines. I don't understand because on pattern editor and preview, the pattern is perfectly seamless but then when I apply it to an object, it just comes with these edges. I have even ticked size to tile art and same issue. 

I am trying to create PNG files for sublimation printing.  After creating a design in Illustrator, I am exporting as a PNG (300 dpi, transparent background).  The PNG files are alway the incorrect size.  I have tried exporting the artboard AND the asset from the artboard, and both have the same result.  I only recently started using Illustrator again after a few years, so I assume there is something I am missing.  Any help would be appreciated! 

Just downloaded Illustrator 2026 onto my new computer (after previously working with the 2024 version).Trying to edit the colors in my files and the "edit colors" menu is completely greyed out. I've tried what seem like all the obvious solutions and I'm not getting anywhere. Already checked for:- Locked Layers- RGB vs CMYK color mode- Switching files to see if the issue was with the file- Releasing the mask- Selecting an individual color- Selecting different layers of the artwork Please help 🙏

I updated to version 30.0 and noticed that there are new cursor hints when "snap to grid" is on.I am used to holding the ALT key while using the pen in order to handle anchor points.After the version update, if a cursor is not positioned in a grid intersection, I either have to turn the snapping to grid off or to directly select the Anchor Point tool (shift + C) to do the job without having to turn snap to grid on and off.It seems like a bug to me, but could it be an option that I have to change? 

Hello, I apologise if you are seeing this post again. Unfortunatley I keep having to reask because I am not getting assistance. As seen in the attached video, when I use my HP stylus on Adobe Illustrator my stylus is frequently not registered and nothing is drawn. You can see in the video that the lines stop appearing even when I am tracing my stylus across the page and the cursor from the stlyus does not follow, but sometimes it does and still there is no output. Also at the end when drawing the alphabet less than half the letters come out. This issue has made it essentially impossible to draw things as I need to redo/trace lines about 3-5 times before they come out clearly. This issue only occurs on Adobe Illustrator and even happens on the select tool, eraser, etc. I am currently on Illustrator 30.0, but the issue is there on all versions. I have done all updates. I am currently on Windows Version 10.0.22631. The stylus I am using is the HP Slim Rechargable Pen (HP Sl

UPDATE!  I FOUND IT! There are photoshop effects and Illustrator - I didn't see it before so it's all good now! 

Hello, I have been trying to add fonts via fonts.adobe.com and through the font options via illustrator, but both options do not seem to be working. On the website I go through, pick a font, click add font, and nothing appears illustrator. Same things go while I'm already in illustrator, I go through the fonts, choose one I want to add, and click the button to add the font. It says "Adding..." for a few minutes and then nothing happens, with it going back to how it was before. I have tried to close and restart the application, and have signed out and back in, but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone know what the issue might be, or how to go about fixing it? The software is all up to date, maybe its my old laptop? I don't know but it is becoming very frustrating. Thanks!!!

I work on a Mac and one of my students works on a PC. Their Snapping Quick Access Panel is not showing on their Control Panel. The Snap to Pixel Panel is visible, but that's not what we're after.Have tried different workspaces, reboot, update version, and Control Panel feature menu...all the recommendations.The Snapping Quick Access Panel is pretty handy. 

Hello,I use Windows Server 2022 as my main machine, it is updated to the latest version of 11/10/2025.  I have never had an issue installing or updating Illustrator before, but when v30 (Illustrator 2026) launched, it is failing to install due to: the error log below. After updating Illustrator to 27.5 I am missing the eye dropper tool from the colour picker, and from within the recolor artwork tool.  I have re-started illustrator, reset my preferences, and restarted my computer as well (mac). Anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? Thanks.

I have a new laptop with Windows 11.I installed Adobe Illustrator latest version (30.0), no updates outstanding.I created a file (less than 2MB in size).Located in a folder on the Desktop (C Drive).When I save the file it takes approx. 5 mins to save. During this time Illustrator tells me it is not responding.I have created a test file with one rectangle on the canvas.I selected file>save to save the file to the same folder on the desktop.Nothing seemed to happen...the file name still displayed an asterix (*) indicating that changes had not been saved.I tried to select file>save again, however, it is greyed out.I selected file>save as instead...I get a message saying "The document "Untitled-2.ai" is currently getting saved. Try again after the process is complete.I attempted to save the file again. This time the save option is available. I selected it and the same thing happened again.What the **** is going on?

Hi, I am having trouble with launching the latest version of Illustrator 30.0. When I try to open I receive a message stating that I need to update my permission settings to read & write as they are currently at read only. I have changed these settings as per the instructions but still continue to receive the same message when I try to open. Has anyone else had the same issue?

I assume PIXEL is number of squares [in this case]. Therefore pixels only take a whole number. In this case it take 0.5 as well.  How is it possible? 

i'm on the latest illustrator version on mac sequoia  when scaling text, font sizes don't scale correctly. this is specially bad in mix type layouts. and it isn't even predictable. in the example i included it is very obvious, but in single line situations for example if i have type that is 10pts and i scale it 200 percent, the type will be something like 20.33pts when scaling art by bounding box, the preview shows scaling correctly in real time, when you let go/complete the transform, the type just blows upthis is really messing me up since i have to work in scale with the same layout in different scales and the type is all over the place.  

I am trying to paste an object into my illustrator file and it is giving me the message that the objects will fall off the drawing area. The object im trying to place is 4in wide , much smaller than my drawing area. No matter the size it wont let me paste. This glitch happens often though, I probably see this message at least once a day while working. I see it as well sometimes while trying to move items around my drawing board - even if i am not putting it outside the drawing area.  Sometimes it fixes itself and sometimes it does not.

Does anyone else have this issue?  I was hoping it would be resolved with the new release of Illustrator, but of course not.What happens- I select an object with a fill color, and I want to see what its hex number or maybe its CMYK value.  When I select the color from the Color Picker menu, the whole program immediately locks up and cannot operate.  The color picker window never comes up, and I have to Ctrl Alt Delete and End task.  (yes I'm on a PC)This has been going on for over a year, and just happened THREE times this morning.HELP!!
