I am not sure what I am asking for here, but maybe it is a merge? That is why I can’t look it up. I had AI created an image that I need to be a vector file to move into CAD software. When I use AI 2026 and do a n image trace and expand I get the object with 2 lines that are adjacent to each there. I laser cutter/engraver does’t like this. Can you please tell me how to merge these lines if that is possible, or delete one set of lines? For some reason, I can’t upload the .ai file here, so here is the original that you may be able to recreate my steps.  

I have been having an issue with the Links Pulldown Menu flashing on and off when selected via Window/Links. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Mas OS Tahoe 26.5.1Illustrator 30.6

Is there a way to set the scaled percentages of linked images in Illustrator to a different specific percentage of scale, like you can in InDesign. For example I have a file with links (of various dimensions) that are placed at 65.635% and I would like to select them and set their percentage scaled to 50%, or even just reset its scale to 100%.The links palette shows the percentage that the link is placed. But the Transform>Scale and Transform Each tools only rescale the item BY the percentage you enter, not TO a specific percentage.I would prefer to not have to re-place all the links and resize them to 50%, or do the math to find the percentage to reduce them more so that the final percentage is 50%.

Hello, I need some assistance with Making my own plugin for Illustrator. I have been following the documentation and have my folder set up as below, I am able to sign and create the ZXP file via powershell, but when i go to install via ZXPinstaller or extension manager, i get an error “failed to install, status = -410! ” This error seems to point to an issue with the file structure when signing the ZXP, but I’m pretty sure I’m doing it correctly. My plugin is a tool that allows the user to Select a number of points or a line and generate an Elepse that best fits them. The signing code:.\ZXPSignCmd.exe -sign "C:\Users\name\Downloads\com.atsuji.ellipsefit.panel" "C:\Users\name\Downloads\EllipseFitPanel.zxp" "C:\Users\name\Downloads\cert.p12" PasswordFile structure: Any assistance on this would be awesome. In the illustrator v30.6 non-proportionate size is not working. Give me a solution regarding this. 

I’m reposting this as it appears my previous post has disappeared, hoping a mod can take a look at an error log?My illustrator keeps on crashing when I hit ‘print’ on the print dialog box. It’s not every time and happens on complex files as well as basic files across multiple printers.Two of the most recent error logs can be found here. I’ve tried a complete re-installation of Ai but still have the issue and I don’t get the issue from inDesign. ThanksColin 

Viewport glitches on the border of the screen, weird black or white artifacts. Looks like there is some delay of redrawing in the viewport. It appears in every document, when moving with hand, zooming in/out. It is very annoying for the workflow. I´m posting a video how the glitch look like.When switch to CPU, artifacts are gone, but it doesn´t solve the core of the problem, also you cannot use dynamic zoom with the CPU...black rectangle glitch on the border of the viewport when zooming, movingIllustrator version 30.4.Nvidia rtx 5080595.79 studio driver 

HiI am going round in circles on this one.Latest version of Illustrator via CCWindows 11 Home PremiumNVIDIA GEForce GPUTransform Tool within the toolbar scales shapes when “restrain” is UNCHECKED.Transform standalone Window does the same.Some limited success if you enter the dimensions manually in the bottom area of the Toolbar window.Have uninstalled / re-installed / uninstalled / re-installed - Cleaner Tool etc.Bounding Box is selected.Anyone any ideas of how to resolve - I need the transform tool to work correctly a lot in my line of work.Thanks in advance

I am having error while saving any file again after some changes. Error is "Some of the specified files already exists in target location". Even though there is no previous or existing file in the same directory. Can someone help me in this?

How is it that Illustraror needs to use 44GB+ of memory on a file that is 400MB in size.  How is that even possible?Currently my Illustrator program has been (Not Responding) now for 24 minutes. Memory usage jumps from 4GB, 19GB, 34GB, 44GB, 36GB, and now it's down to 17MB and still not responding. What is going on? This is an ongoing issue with Illustrator even when working with minimal size files. My files are not all tha complicated and don't include anything drastically complex. I've researched and adjusted my settings to oprimize the programs speed. Reduced saves, Unchecked background services and done everything I can think of to try and increase the speed of Illustrator, but yet it still continuiously wants to be a resource hog and utilize more memory than the entire instalation of all programs on my computer. There has to be a program issue that is allowing such large amounts of memory to be used which is causing these lock ups and failures. Yesterday I lost 4 hours o

When I scroll in any illustrator window with my mouse wheel it scrolls very slow. for example scrolling fonts, its one font at a time when yesterday it was a dozen or so. I checked all of my settings and used a different mouse its not my mouse or my computer. Its an illustrator issue.  

Hi There. I am running the lastest stable version of Illustrator on my M4 Macbook Pro on Tahoe. I have recently started having an issue where I can load Illustrator, no trouble there... but upon opening the first file, or creating a new doc, the file opens, but then I get the spinning ball for about a minutes before it goes away and the panels appear. This only happens on the first file open...not on launch, and not on subsequent file opens. Things I have tried:removing all fonts, killing and rebuilding font cache, trashing and rebuilding preferences, uninstalling CC and reinstalling, l logging out and in to CC, with reboots between...I can work with this, but it's SUPER annoying and doesn't happen on my other Macs. Just this one and just recently... Any ideas? Thanks!

When using the Illustrator "Share for Review" link, I preview it in Chrome but the artwork is all blurry and it doesn't show the artwork on the other art boards. I've tried restarting everything, creating new links, uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, clearing cache, googling.. nothing works. But when I preview the link in Safari, everything is fine. Has anyone else had this issue. if so can someone help me solve this please?

I have updated to 28.6 yesterday and, ever since, whenever Illustrator is running, the screensaver is not being allowed to follow the System Settings set in macOS Sonoma 14.5 (M3 Max).How do I know it is Illustrator?1. it persists through log out and macOS restart2. through trial and error, I excluded all other apps and it is the only one doing this. I do not recall this happening on 28.5, and I will likely uninstall this version and revert to the older one if this persists. Thank you

Something changed with the color palette in late 2025. I frequently change CMYK values by selecting the art and then clicking in the CMYK sliders in the color palette. Normally I can key-in the values and simply tab from C to M to Y to K, but now as soon as I hit the tab key, all the fields go blank. I’ve been adjusting color this way for decades and now it doesn’t work. I’m currently on version 30.2.1 on Mac OS.

After installing and using the updated version (as well as the previous version after the install), Illustrator lags and takes about 2 seconds to respond to any click, command, or interaction. I've tried working in new files, old files, restarting, remote files, local files, etc. Nothing changes it. It's starting to affect my efficiency and I need to find a solution. I've already read other conversations about this, and none of those answers are my issue. I don't have Magnet or any third party apps. I'm on windows. When I select an object I use the transform menu to move, rotate, and scale the object. But recently a “turntable” option was added which un-selects the field I was editing if I accidentally even hover over it, despite the fact that I have generative turned off in the command menu and preferences as well as tutorials disabled. This is extremely annoying and constantly disrupts my workflow.

I believe that issue might be a glitch and i don’t know how to let adobe know of this issue 

why don't you stick to your knitting ..... all your legacy stuff is falling apart .... stuff i teach ..... AE is still riddled with bugs ... and now AI Beta ...... Software: Adobe Illustrator. Color mode: CMYK. Export: EPS/JPG. Printer: Mimaki JV300-160 Plus (2 heads), default profile. Similar files print differently, but one file shows a different result. What causes this issue, and how can I fix it?
