Questions

It' a complete mess, the articles are absolutely not following the pages' order. I tried to put the text frames in the articles panel with no avail… Any help appreciated. I also tried ID/IC 2024 with the same result. 

I've made some InCopy editorial changes to a document and saved to a shared Dropbox, but when a colleague accesses the same file, the changes are not on her document.The only reason I can fathom is that I am working on version 19.5.3 and she is using 19.5  but we cannot find a way for her to upgrade to the same version - all it offers is the 2025 version, which we've found to be full of glitches and a hindrance to all.Does anyone have any suggestions?? 

Nearly everyone in my company who works on a Mac has been having issues with InCopy crashing frequently. We've tried reverting to earlier versions, but that's resulted in very little improvement in performance—and earlier versions will not open INDD files in InCopy. I'm looking for ideas and help ASAP—our workflow has been seriously disrupted. Here's my setup, for reference:  InCopy 2024 (19.2 and 19.4) and 2023 (18.5.1)Mac OS 14.5 (though I had the same problems when running 14.4.1) Things that have made InCopy crash recently:Checking out stories.Checking in stories.Pasting text into a note.Typing in a note.Replacing text in a note.Changing from Layout to Story view.Accepting all changes in a story.Rejecting one change.Dragging the tools window to the margin.Typing too fast I guess.In Story view, typing to replace text.

I follow the step-by-step instructions from the official site, and everything goes fine... but no message ever comes to the collaborators (for the test I'm sending it other emails that I own that have Adobe IDs attached, so I know it's not going into spam or anything ). Clicking the 'copy link' button in the Content Editing panel doesn't copy anything to the clipboard. Is this feature geographically locked or something? (I'm in Europe)Does anybody have any ideas?

Liebe Community, ich habe mal eine frage zur Kompatibilität. Wir sind eine kleine Redaktion. Ein Grafikrechner erstellt die Layout- sowie InCopydateien in InDesign und die Redakteure redigieren die Texte in InCopy. Alle benutzen Mac und wir arbeiten mit InDesign 2023. Jetzt kommt ein Windows-Rechner dazu, der an den selben InCopy Dokumenten arbeiten soll. Geht das überhaupt und gibt es dor Schriftenproblem oder andere Problem? Vielen Dank, Tokka

Ik noem dit diefstal, maak het voor je klanten eens eenvoudig,Waarom kan ik het abonement van InCopy nergens vinden, ik had alleen een proefversie gevraagd maar krijg wel maandelijks de rekening. Volgens de wet kan dit dus niet en zal ik klacht moeten indienen.    

I'm looking for something that I can use in Dreamweaver that will allow me to set the type box and then let a collaborator to make edits/changes. I was wondering since these are both Adobe products, will they work together?

Will InCopy become compatible with snapdragon copilot+ laptops anytime soon? 

I have started using InCopy for all my placed documents that I am putting into my InDesign documents.I am trying to place images in my file, but I cannot seem to find the Text Wrap like InDesign has. Is this in InCopy? If so where is it?

I want to set my InCopy paragraph styles and character styles to match the defaults I have set in my InDesign document. I have a set of paragraph styles and character styles that I use in all my InDesign documents. Can I export my paragraph styles and character styles from my InDesign document and put them into InCopy so that when I create a new InCopy document they will always be there?If so, can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this. I have search and just can’t find any info on this.

Hey! I'm having issues saving my Incopy Document as a pdf. I'm editing my copy and it saves correctly in InCopy, but when I export as pdf none of the edits show through?

When the preference is set to open in Layout Mode in InCopy without any documents open then, when opening a document the navigation options bottom left are dimmed.Minimizing the programme, returning to the desktop, and maximizing the programme again the options become available... Both on Mac and Windows.We've had the issue for the past 3-4 years, I've shown it to Adobe twice and apparently it's send to the developers, without any resolvement.Am I the only one with this issue? or does anyone else experience the same?Any ideas? Ole 

hi! so i’m currently editing a book in design with incopy assignments within it. i want to create a copy of the file to then share with my client via drop box. the issue i’m facing is that i would preferably want one copy on drop box and another locally on my laptop, and to do so seems to be problematic because of the icml links. i have exported all the content in the indesign doc as icml files so i can easily add them to assignments when needed, but now to create a copy, that copy is still linked to those original icml files. im wondering if it’s possible to “re-export” the content in the copy as icml files, or duplicate those icml files so they are almost like a separate set only used for the copy? if more context is needed let me know! 

Does anyone here know how to add a MindSuite Pro 2025 to InCopy? It only works on InDesign, and I have not found any way to add it to InCopy at all.As for customer service of mindsteam software, it does not answer questions or respond to any inquiries.There are many bugs!!

Hello! I have been getting progressively more frustrated by this incopy issue. Currently using 19.4 (this is work software and I am not in charge of my own updgrades). See attached screenshots in full screen. Whether expanded or collapsed, my toolbar window is stretching across and PAST my entire screen (so I cannot even access the tools), blocking my working document. When collapsed, each individual toolbar will expand across the screen when opened. No matter what, the toolbar is resistant to being narrowed. The "Expand Panels" button to expand all does not respond at all — I have to expand each panel individually or restart incopy to expand them all at the same time, which then leads to the entire screen being hidden. Incopy is completely useless to me at this point. I prefer working in advanced workspace and have tried resetting the workspace as well as using essential view and creating my own custom workspace — still having the same toolbar issues. I am a new corporate user. What looks like a copyright line appears on every page of every file I open.  See upload.  TMy email address changed so I had to update my license and the problem persists!! his overlays text I'm trying to edit. It isn't an image I can grab and delete. How do I get rid of it? Help!  Thanks 🙂

Hi,I am currenly working with Technical Writer so she can work on my design and do all texts.There is an issue, It looks very wide on InCopy, when I get back to InDesign, everything is fine (See first screenshot). But in InCopy view it looks way so wide and illustrations looks so small (see second screenshot). This is not a big proglem, we are working fine but it would be better if I have same look also in InCopy. Doing changes in Document Setup did not work. Thanks in advance.  

How can I download Incopy version 16 and 17. These version are urgently needed and somehow the Adobe does not allow to install later than version 17. 

Hello. I am working in InCopy 2024, but I'm having trouble routing files to co-workers. I route a file. However, the Studio view does not show that the file has been routed, and my colleagues do not get any notice. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? I did not have any troubles with InCopy 2019. We just switched to 2024. Thank you.

I have recently finished University, and I had a student plan with the University. That account is no longer activated, how do I access all of my cloud documents on that account?Any help would be greatly appreciated because all of my work is on there. I just assumed it would still be on my computer.Thank you

I am placing a Word file in InDesgin and funny things are happening...so I open the Word file in InCopy and found that some of the authors text was in a box or chart? The text wouldn't flow past it. So I solved that but now I can't get the endnotes to place. When I open the Word file in InCopy, there are blue brackets around each note. What does that mean and how can I fix? Help!

Hey all! I am trying to figure out how to change my zoom preset when I open InCopy. All my documents open at 77.3%, and I'd like them to open at 150%. I've Googled ideas that largely answer this question for InDesign and other Adobe products, but their steps don't work when I try them in InCopy. Any advice? Thanks!

We run a magazine and our editorial team uses InCopy to edit the text that designers set up in InDesign. We are all remote and use Synology to sync files between our office server and everyone's computers. Everyone uses Macs, though of varing models/ OS. One of our editors today found that some of the .icma files were missing. Thinking it was a sync issue, we tried dropping a file into the folder and thats how we discovered it was hidden, not unsynced. By hitting [Command + Shift + .] she could see them again and open/use the file as normal.  It's not ALL the .icma files, only some of them. All of the .icml files are still visible as normal. Different designers created them originally. Resaving the .icma and forcing Synology to resync them made no difference. The file names of the affected files are consistent with our naming convention so nothing out of the ordinary. Her Mac OS is Sonoma v. 14.3.1. This has not happened to her before, but it HAS happ

My team upgraded to InDesign 19.5 to create the layout and our Editorial team uses InCopy to make changes to the text. When they make their changes are complete, our team adjusts the layout and we generate a new PDF. Late last week we have discovered that some of the hyperlinks and anchors within the document suddenly no longer work when they come back from InCopy updates. It's frustrating as it's randomly happening to only some of the links, and they continue to maintain the hyperklink style so we cannot just verify by glancing at the PDF. When I look at the text in InDesign, the text that was previously hyperlinked does not allow for a new hyperlink to be added. I have to remove the whole text and add the text again.  Is this a new issue? Should we be rolling back to a previous version?

When using InCopy version 20.0.1, my team is having trouble with content updating from an .indd file. We open them with InCopy to do our text editing. We have to go through each text box that has been updated and update them individually. Is there a way to update all content at once? We have tried closing the book and the program and reopening.
