I have been attempting to add a 360° image or panorama to an InDesign file and export it as an interactive PDF. While it works with media content, I am looking for solutions to effectively incorporate 360° images into presentations.Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi I need to create a fixed layout EPUB from a previously written book I have in a PDF format. The book is picture heavy so I only found fixed layout EPUB to work. The ebook distributor in question (Draft2Digital) only allows EPUB, which is why I'm going through all this (although I know how crazy it is to transform a PDF into an EPub, so please kindly don't judge me, as I'm doing it because I'm being forced to.). Although I was able to get a fixed layout EPUB format already, my EPUB file does not have an EPUB table of contents. So if I open it on Kindle Previewer or any other epub preview, the TOC has all "untitled" spreads under it. Question: Since this is a PDF import and I do not have text paragraphs or headings in the inDesign document, how can I create a table of contents for it? I created sections with marker sections for each of the chapters, so I was hoping to generate a TOC from that. However I was not able to figure this out, if that is even an option. Th

I am attempting to compose a document (non-facing pages) containing poetry in different languages with line numbers (every x lines). In my latest attempt, I have 4 columns representing the text and line numbers in each of the two languages. My first attempt, using a multi-column text frame (primary and non-primary) failed because, for the life of me, I could find a way of getting the text to flow 'column first' (i.e. fill the first column until all text was entered on multiple pages before advancing to the  next column). My latest attempt seemed more promising but still failed. I can fill the first column with text across multiple pages, but if I attempt to enter text (line numbers every 10 lines) in the second column, when I reach the end of the first page, InDesign inserts a new page between the first and previously second page with no text in the first column of the new second page.I am now completely stumped, and I have not got to the third and fourth columns yet.&nb

Hi,Is there a way to use the Mac's built-in text replacements in InDesign?I have several shortcuts that I would like to use. For example, I set one up to write "InDesign" when I type "ind "or "illu" for "Illustrator." I also have one for my website, phone number, or mail address. It is really handy.Is there a way to use that in InDesign?

Hi,I would like to crop an image based on its shape. In InDesign everything is cropped, but when I save the file as a PDF and print it, it prints the image in its original shape. What am I doing wrong?

I've moved text around in a long document (~200pp) and messed up the threading...i've tried everything I can think of to fix and read through posts here.including-running scripts to break and then rethread, which produce a number of error messages-creating a new document but the text seems to paste in with its old order in its mind - which is really frustrating: whatever I do the old "ghost" text order flows in-manually trying to remake in text editorall so far to no availplease help anyone. many thanks

Hi, I recently updated both OSX and Indesign and now I can no longer see recent folders when relinking or placing files.Is this because of a change in Indesign or in the OS? I hope somebody gets what I mean:I used to see recent folders suggested when relinking files, which was great for the workflow as you often save files somewhere with a different software and then open InDesign to place or relink these files.

I'm running Indesign 20.1 on a Mac mini running OS 15.1 (24B83).  When I create a new document I do not have a Master page. All is see is a A-Parent page and another titled "[None]".  I have tried deleting prefs, tried going back a view versions and no luck. I also can't move spreads around at all.  I have tried an Adobe chat session and let the tech take over my computer and he still couldn't figure it out. Anybody have the same issue?Thanks!

I'm creating an interactive form in InDesign and need to have the viewers fill it on their devices after I use the Publish Online option. However, the interactive fields doesn't work and renders useless. Is there a trick we can use to make the interactive form fields functioning with Publsih Online?

Adobe, this bug is easy to reproduce and has been documented for years. Can we please get a speedy fix?

Just had a runtime error, then a complete freeze. Can it mean the file's become corrupted? Occurred right after deleting a set of two images grouped together. Haven't tried opening it again after a force quit via the task manager. Backing up the file as it exists now. Please advise. Perform a 'rinse' by exporting to IDML and then back into a normal ID file? Thank you.

As part of our annual system update to support the latest Adobe InDesign version, we include our plugin, which utilizes a third-party library. According to Adobe's porting guide, the recommended setup includes Boost 1.74 and Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.9.6).Boost 1.74 does not get compiled on VS 2022(version 17.9.6). Consequently, we have been using Boost 1.80 since the InDesign 2023 update, while keeping all other configurations aligned with the porting guide.Additionally, we are compiling our code with C++14 and using indesign::autoptr in our implementation.Despite these adjustments, we are encountering an issue where our plugin fails to load in InDesign. The application crashes and asserts with the error message: "Cannot load the plugin."We would appreciate any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue.

I can't move text boxes, objects or pages. When I try to move anything the curser changes to a stop sign (red circle with diagonal red line). I have opened a new document, but it still happens. I can however resize boxes/images using the 'handles'. Everything was working fine before. I have not installed any updates. Thanks for any help.     <Title renamed by MOD>

I work as a graphic designer and part of my job requires me to do a lot of high quality printing such as greeitng cards, birth announcements, wedding invitations, etc. I have always done my printing with Adobe PDF'sand everything was perfect until early this week. I restarted and updated my computer and the quality setitngs in the printer properties changed. There is no way I can get it back to printing the way it used to. The photo just appears to be washed out and grainy. 😞 Can someone tell me what the best way is to print high quality photos either out of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Indesign?Thank you.

How do multiple people gain access to links in an indesign document?We make a magazine with about 150 links per document. We are having trouble finding an easy way to sync these links to our cloud so all four of us can access the document. Does anyone have any good ideas?

I placed a threaded Word document into InDesign and removed styles so I could do a LOT of styling in InDesign. If I rename the InDesign document, the text becomes unlinked. If I update, the Word document overrides my hard work in styling. Is there anyway to avoid this? Same thing if I need to take the InDesign 2025 files into InDesign 2024 for my large screen mac - the file becomes unlinked. HELP!

I want to export a data merge document to PDF with each file name matching one of the data fields. I know there are scripts for this somewhere but I haven't found one. 

Running into an issue when trying to add a manual entry to my TOC for my book file. I have a book file with 14 indesign files. The first two are TOC layouts and are built using styles. I need to add a couple lines in the TOC for places in the book that were not grabbed with styles. When I go to create a line and hyperlink it does not find the corresponding page number. It says that file only has 40 pages (even though it's page 240 in the book). Hey all...I don't remember when this happened, but I'm finally fed up.When you used to close a file, the gray pasteboard would also go away, so you could see your desktop.  I was just doing some work in Quark (which I am tempted to switch to because they support Pantone colors and Type 1 fonts, and when you have spent multiple thousands of $$ on Postscript fonts, it's a pain to have to re-purchase...but I digress)...anyway, I close my Quark file when I was done, and though my workspace was still there, I could see my desktop (as InDesign used to do). It was so nice to see all of my Finder windows there so I could click on what I wanted.Well, the next file was in InDesign. Quick change. Close the file and that blasted grey background is still there and I have to hit yet another "close" button. Am I just missing a setting somewhere that will get rid of that? I've messed around with it a little today and have numerous times since this happened with whatever release...and I

All non-fiction books that I have read have their references organised by chapter. They are all at the end of the book, before the index, but split up by the chapter titles they come from and restart their numbering from 1 after each chapter subheading. This is a universal norm in academic and non fiction books but there doesnt seem to be any easy/automated way of doing it in InDesign. How would you do it?
