Since the last Adobe InDesign update, my zoom shortcut (cmd + Shift + .) no longer works, while the zoom shortcut does. This is wasting my design time. Could someone please help me solve this problem? I'm still a beginner with the Adobe suite and I've tried to solve it myself by searching online and on forums, but I haven't been able to. Thank you for your help.

Ever since the last updated, drop shadows aren't displaying properly when exporting PNGs from Indesign. There are a couple of threads, but no solutions, It's becoming annoying, as the workaround is to close the app completely and reopen the file. Totally messes the workflow.

Hello, I wondered if anyone could help me. I am quite new to Indesign and only just started learning the basics. I am creating a 30 page booklet that needs to be exported in both a print and digital format. Do I need to create 2 separate Indesign files for each format or can I work from just the one file and export the two different formats from that one file? Thanks

This seems to be a new problem, but I can’t seem to generate review links anymore. At first i thought it was one document in particular, but nothing I did could get it to work. It just says “Couldn’t create link. Try again later.”I’ve signed in and out, uninstalled and reinstalled, updated the program, saved it as a new document, I even exported the whole thing as JPEGS and placed over a hundred pages by hand. I had someone else try and they could not generate the link either. 

Hi there,WIN11 computer.InDesign 21.2 x64. Both are legit.I have several projects worked in InDesign. They are from the same client, they are using the same template, the same fonts and styles. Yesterday, I implemented some changes requested by my client in one of the projects. Today, I opened another project from the same client in order to make some changes. For my surprise, InDesign cannot see the fonts. Fonts that were OK yesterday, two days ago, three days ago. Each package contains the same font since all projects use the same template.So, I opened the project I was working yesterday. The fonts are fine. I restarted the computer. I opened the yesterday project. Everything is fine. I opened the project I am supposed to make corrections. Fonts are missing. I opened another project from the same client I worked three days ago. Well, this is even more weird. Fonts are missing, but they are not shown in Find/Replace fonts, and the Preflight panel shows zero errors and is green.Fonts a

Hallo Community, seit einiger Zeit habe ich seit einiger Zeit Probleme mit Schriftarten in InDesign. Nach Adobe Programm-Updates werden in der Regel bei bestehenden und noch vor dem Update voll funktionsfähigen InDesign Dateien viele Schriften nicht mehr korrekt erkannt. Ich bin dann stets gezwungen, fehlende Schriften mit Kennung OTF erneut zu suchen und zu ersetzen. Das ist sehr störend und behindert mich in meiner täglichen Arbeit mit InDesign. Die bemängelten Schriften sind installiert - nur nach Updates werden viele Schriftarten (wie Segoe UI oder auch Calibri) mit der Kennung OTF angemeckert. Wird bei Updates die Schrift-Datenbank von Adobe InDesign beschädigt oder wo liegt das Problem? Wie gesagt: Dieses Phänomen wiederholt sich seit einiger Zeit nach jedem Update. Bitte diesen Fehler durch eine Anpassung der Software lösen. Hi everyone,I hope you can help me. InDesign keeps crashing on my laptop. It has always worked fine, but for the past two months I’ve been having constant problems.This is what happens:I work with both existing and new documents. As soon as I try to save them, I either get error code (2) or a message saying that InDesign cannot complete the request. After that, the program stops responding (I have to close it via Task Manager) or it crashes completely.I work on a Windows laptop and save files via OneDrive (this is required for work). I have already tried the following: Saving to a different location so the file path is not too long Using short file names Setting the recovery files to a different location Reinstalling the program Creating new files to check whether the issue is related to the original design Using only fonts that come with InDesign and no custom installed fonts Reinstalling my own fonts Creating a recovery file Saving as IDML and then editing/saving that

I’ve cleared preferences through library, and when starting indesign.It has several bugs randomly appearing. eg. Suddenly can’t undo, takes ages to quit, there’s a slight delay importing images...

As per above. Cant easily redistribute link without causing confusion. Can i recover it to my dashboard?

Whenever I try to export a PDF, an error screen appears on some page. Even after checking each link individually, the error persists. It continues to happen even if I delete the page in question. The error appears on any other page and in any file I'm working on. Creating a pack or working offline doesn't help either. 

I’m trying to relink files in a document without updating them so I can review them 1 by 1.I have successfully used  .reinitLink() on a mac, but It won’t update the link status until I reopen the document. I have been able to test sucessfully with .relink, but I don’t want it to update automatically.Examplevar pathVar = "/FullPathToAsset/"app.activeDocument.links[0].reinitLink("file:"+pathVar)I tried using links[0].update() after reinitLinkBut nothing happens. I am in the LABORIOUS process of resurrecting a very old book document for reprint that used now-outdated fonts. What a nightmare, EVEN when Adobe has available modern fonts—and even ones of the same name! Like Adobe Garamond (c. 1990s) v. Adobe Garamond Pro today. SOOO much manual replacement required——global search and replace is not seeming to work in some cases, perhaps due to the fact the original doc was QuarkXPress and is being opened in InDesign (rather poorly, by the way).I’m now looking for replacements for Carta (symbols), Frutiger (Adobe, via foundry Linotype), and Optima (source unclear).??? 

HalloHabe ein transparentes PNG ( Farbe / Graustufen ). I am having issues with InDesign 2025 constantly crashing. I even installed older versions in an effort to solve the problem. When I open the application, it freezes, and I have to force quit to close it. It is completely unusable. I have a new desktop computer running Windows 11, enough RAM and a high-speed internet connection. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Furthermore, I cannot download or open my creative cloud files. It simply says: "Download failed". Any ideas?

Is it possible to script the saving of all open InDesign documents, including those that require 'Converting' from one InDesign version to another, directly over their former versions.I often need to do this with large numbers of documents, and it seems that going from one document to the next when I have 20 open documents, clicking save, being offered the ability to save the document directly over itself because InDesign helpfully opens the save point of the source doc, clicking SAVE then clicking OK, then closing the document, and moving on to the next, one, well this looks like a clear case for automation.Given that I have my own version control and excellent backups, I don’t have to worry about overseeing every step in an operation like this (that’s to say, given that it’s a reliable script).

So I have sets of illustration in separated artboard (same layer) in Illustrator. But when I am importing it to InDesign, some parts of the illustration is missing. It occurs on some illustration, especially reused graphic asset from Freepik. Funny enough, this isn't happening using the previous version of Indesign. Right now I am using the current latest 21.0 (not beta). What I have done for the workaround;saved into a new file, only the error artboard. not working.saved the error artboard into EPS, works. But I wish everything works in native format.  

I recently updated my InDesign 26 version to interim version 21.2 and this preference doesn’t seem to be working anymore. I have the “Default Relink Folder” in the File Handling preference set to “Most Recent Relink Folder”.Previously when I had say 10 InDesign documents in a folder, I would open the first and relink to my Links folder that is not in the same folder as the InDesign documents. Then every subsequent InDesign file in that folder that I would open would look to that Links folder I just linked to and update appropriately. Since this interim update, that preference doesn’t seem to work and I have to browse to the links folder again for each InDesign document.Hoping I am missing something or that this can get fixed.Thanks,Don 

Share for review hasn’t been working for several days now. I’ve signed out and still doesn’t work after logging back in. I’ve also restarted my computer. Attaching a screenshot of “Error getting invited people” - I don’t even use the invite, only the link. Spins and spins, never loads share options.Running version 21.2, Windows 11

All my books (several hundred) are formatted using the Times New Roman TTF font. The new version of InDesign 21.0 changes that to Times New Roman OTF.Fortunately, version 20.0 is still installed. I know from experience that strange things can happen in updates.. However, the problem with the latest update has also been introduced in that version.OTF is only available with a licence, which I do not have. I would appreciate some help.Cor van Wijgerden     <Title renamed by MOD>

I opened files that i was working on in December 2025 - tweaked something - and could not save. FILE IS DAMAGED!  no matter what I do - anything I touch cannot be saved as an indesign file. 

Hi, I’ve installed Adobe InDesign for the first time on Windows 11, but it’s not launching. The application gets stuck on “Starting up service registry” during startup and does not open, even after waiting for more than 5 minutes.I have already tried reinstalling InDesign, signing out and signing back into Creative Cloud, and restarting my system, but none of these steps worked.This is a fresh installation and I’m facing this issue from the first launch itself. Please let me know how to resolve this problem.
