This is constantly happening to me! The top edge of my Links panel is all the way at the top of my monitor, but the bottom edge is off the screen & too far down to grab. Closing & re-opening the panel does not help.

Hi, im having an issue where my swatches panel is blank. There is nothing there at all.I've reset my preference and also uninstalled and reinstalled inDesigns to no avail.Can anyone help?

I have 100s of buttons in an InDesign document that are set to non-printable.they all need to be set to printable.Is there an easy way to do this (either using a script or export options)?

Hello, community. (I am working on InDesign v 19.5) In the "Type" menu - Insert Break Character - The first 3 options "seem" to have a keyboard shortcut but, the symbol reiterated in the three options, which looks like a lying letter "K", and its combinations, do not work when trying to apply them on the keyboard (besides that the keyboard does not have a lying letter K) and in the "Keyboard Viewer", I did not find that symbol... which could well be an option, but I did not find it... despite using different key combinations (command, option, shift etc.).At Adobe phone support they told me that those that, to me, "seem to be keyboard shortcuts" next to the options "Column Break, Frame Break and Page Break", are not shortcuts, but that, when applying those functions, they would be the symbols that would appear in the text, when the invisible characters are active... but in the observable evidence, it is not like that... because the symbols of those functions, are different in

When I create an EPUB in InDesign, using an iPad preset template, it distorts the EPUB file in Kindle for one second then it goes back to normal a second later. The momentary distortion happens when I open the EPUB in Kindle. Does anyone know how to fix it so that these momentary distortions don't happen in Kindle??

As you can see from screenshots, when it comes to my indentations Apple Books is reading them pretty well, but Kindle not so much. What's weird is that Kindle does register the change, it just only does about 20% of what I apply. So I can get the indents to move 1/16th of an inch in Kindle by moving them 3/4 of an inch in indesign. The massive indent then reflects in Appl Books, with a very small movement made in Kindle. Why? I would think Kindle would work or not work, but to just decided it's only going to interpret SOME of my direction doesn't make sense to me. Apple is also reading my margins on the epigraph, while kindle does not.

Hello, I have problem. when I using the shortcut crtl, the text is reduced in place with the frame. while the shortcut shift, it works correctly. I don't know if this is true for everyone.     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello. I've tried this (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/grep-query/m-p/14365227) for applying a character style to text within parentheses but must not be changing the correct portion of the string to ( ). 

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove the space between tables? I've got the Before and After space in the Paragraph set to 0. I'd make them one table but due to the number of columns being different it was easier to create separate tables for each.Thanks,Peter

One of the main tasks that we do in our office is: A.  Merging an original InDesign file (approx 7.5Mb) with a CSV file;B.  Exporting that resulting merged document into a PDF file During export, we've tried different Adobe PDF Presets:  (High Quality Print, Press Quality, Smallest File Size, PDF/X-4, etc.)   The "Smallest File Size" preset seems to be the fastest although not by much.  It generally takes 3-5 minutes to create the merged document which seems a bit slow.   But the real sluggishness is when we export that merged document into PDF format.  It takes anywhere from 4-8 minutes and the resulting PDF is only about 2.3Mb in size.  We've tried this on multiple machines.  One is an iMac 3.5Ghz Quad Core i7 processor with 32Gb of 1600Mhz DDR3 RAM.  The other is a Macbook Pro with 2.6 Ghz 6-core i7 processor and 16Gb 2400 Mhz DDR4 RAM.  There's not really thimble's worth of difference in the e

Hi, I am developing a C++ plugin. I want to prevent the process from being executed on the home screen from the panel I created. From the plugin, is it possible to switch between the home screen and the screen that appears when no documents are open (where various panels are displayed)? Alternatively, can the preference "Show Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" be toggled on and off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Dès que je lance le fichier dans InDesign, l'appli se bloque, rien ne se passe que la petite roulette qui tourne et je suis obligé de forcer à quitter InDesign. Idem quand je lance le script 'batch-convert' pour le convertir en IDML sans l'ouvrir… Comment procéder pour ouvrir ce fichier ? Merci d'avance ! 

Hello!I have a dowpdownlist  with very many items, and I would like to show it with scollbars instead of a very long list.. I've read about the maximumSize property, but it do not seem to apply... Our book has a Subject Index at the back (where hundreds of key word entries have been marked in the Word doc with the corresponding page numbers). Is there a way to keep those page number links active? It is far too big a job to edit them manually. Thanks,Geoff

I create a great number of box labels for an appliance manufacturer, the labels contain colour images of the product and individual barcodes for each, all change according to region, Product colour etc. We use a custom extentsion to create barcodes & multiple fields from a basic set of data, the SKU & Barcode numbers.When creating the barcodes the extention creates a field containing the path to where the barcode is /barcodes/(barcodenumber).eps, it does the same with image filenames based on the SKU code.For the past few years this has worked perfectly, but now when I open an older merge file to add a new colour/barcode to the data, it can no longer find any of the images as it did previously even though nothing has else has changed, other than an update to InDesign. The text based fields come through fine.I have seen the fix in that keeping the CSV data file in the same folder as the images fixes the problem, and it works perfectly, but when I have 30 odd barcodes &

Another slightly aside issue that anyone who exports to EPUB should know.   I, and many others, prefer Thorium Reader as a clean, standards-driven, nicely "vanilla" reader for EPUB.docs. If it's right in TR, it's good to go.   Except that there's a noxious bug of long standing, which I recently tripped over. Put briefly, Thorium uses a very aggressive font-size 'regularizing' algorithm, designed to get around bad EPUB code using fixed font sizing (px, pt, mm etc.) One side effect is that on some documents, it will force all styles to 1em/rem. The size definition of the style is ignored. The problem has been reported (in GitHub) for almost two years; each ticket is noted and closed. The programmer responsible more or less says he can't find a way to apply the font fix AND respect all author stylesheets, so the issue persists.   The punchline here: the problem seems to apply mostly, if not only to EPUB exported from ID.   I expended quite a bit of effort trying to fix

Since I started using the new InDesign '2024' I noticed all of my transparent vector images I placed in my working files are showing up with a white box.  This did not happen in the InDesign '2023" version of the program. Does anyone know how to fix this issue... other than scrap using '2024'and going back to InDesign '2023'?

hi everyone see in this pic i have set kerning 80 (kerning in thousand of an em) , these are 100 pages of book , where many many places words are like this with different names kerning set, how we can change these kerning value to 100 through find and replace or grep or any other way fastly ,  i try alot but fail . any help please. thanks in advance.  

I have to replace a long time employee and need to come up with a test of some kind for InDesign, in particular books and heavy style sheet usage. I saw somewhere that Adobe has a standardized test for their applications but can't find it, anyone know? Also how would one test someone if they do not have a subscription on a home computer? 

I'm working on a multi-page booklet in InDesign CC2014 and I want to start the page numbering on what is basically page 6, skipping numbering the cover and the next four pages after, but I can't see any way to do it. I've been playing with the numbering and section options, but nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, I just recently updated indesign. I print from CAD 11 X 17 page or two plan options. I should be able to swap out OPT 1 with OPT 2 so that they are in the same place in the INDESIGN page. But when I swap out link the PDF position completely changes. As if the PDF is importing bounding box and not media box. I can't find any control in indesign that would  control this setting. Does anyone have any idea?? Is it just a glitch?? Thanks,Cy

Estoy intendao abrir un documento en el que he estado trabajando estos días, pero me aparece el siguente mensaje (vease imagen) y se cierra el programa automáticamente.No sé que hacer porque no se abre de ninguna manera y tiene cosas importantes. El documento solo lo he utilizado yo y lo tengo guardado en un USB. 

When I create a file and save it for the first time, it saves as 'Read-Only'. So, once I save it, that's it! I can't save it again or even make a PDF file. I've checked the permissions of the file, the folder, etc. and they're all 'Read and Write'.  I'm paralyzed because of this, can anyone help?!?!
